As someone who has both chronic migraine & depression I can testify that both conditions can leave you praying for the exit . This song resonates with me in 2 ways.

As someone who could guarantee depression killing me inside, i feel every pain in every piece of this lyrics and it truly gives me a few reason to think I'm not alone in this war

Tyler had major issues with anxiety and depression especially as a teen. He was also raised in a very Christian household. I'd imagine he was told if he had more faith he'd not have these mental health issues. He alludes to the sign of the cross. (pain ranges from up down and sideways) Sundays are the days he sees the people saying if his faith was greater God wouldn't let him be depressed, or where he had the idea of that himself, and letters by the bed refer to the bible especially the letters of paul, very important to baptists.

Their music would probably all be very interesting to you - it's a lot about battling mental health problems, etc
Car Radio would be a great song for you to check out

I love your reactions! As someone who has dealt with depression and anxiety my whole life, I really appreciate how much Twenty One Pilots focuses on this important topic. They also have a wonderful community of fans that are supportive and understanding.

So glad you checked this out, really enjoyed hearing your thoughts, hope you react to more of their music! they have both dealt with mental health struggles and have spoken about how they use music to deal with this. i thought how you talked about people with dperessions as almost creating 2 sides of themselves was really interesting becaus Tyler (singer) created a character called Blurryface to represent his anxiety/insecurities in later songs and albums (if you ever see him with black paint on hsi hands or neck that means Blurryface is controlling him, making his insecure about the music he creates with his hands and makes him feel like he is suffocating).

I highly recommend their song “Addict With A Pen” and specifically the UG studios version. It touches a lot more on some of the religious themes you picked up on in the beginning of this song, and that particular performance of it is incredibly cathartic and emotional.

You should really react to a lot of Twenty one pilots music because it's mainly focused on mental health as the singer Tyler Joseph struggles with mental illness depression anxiety self harm and suicide and the drummer Josh Dun struggles with anxiety. They're message is and always has been "stay alive it's worth it I promise."
Some songs I would recommend that focus heavily on mental illness would be....
    Neon gravestones
    Guns for hands
    Goner
    Fake you out
    Trapdoor
    Taxi cab
    A car a torch a death
    and many many more.
From Tyler Joseph's solo album No phun intended there's
    Hole in the ground
    Just like yesterday
I need something to kill me
    Drown
    and
    Taken by sleep.
Because Tyler the singer and songwriter has struggled so heavily with mental illness he wants people to understand they're not alone and to keep on going never looking back.
They saved my life and I know they've saved thousands of others lives as well. Truce and Lovely are awesome examples of that. Subscribed favor more Twenty one pilots. They have no bad songs and they always have a wonderful message about mental health. God bless you hope to see more of these guys on here.
    They just

Loved this. My experience with therapy is someone sitting listening to me. That's no help, because I already know what to do,problem is I'm not doing them and why is that? no therapist has ever even got there,so waste of money. I'm not stupid no one with mental problems is,so being told: Since you already have all the answers, what are you doing here? Kinda makes me think, no therapists. I'm 50 so I've actually tried more than a few times. Anyways to end with a good note, hugs from Sweden. 🤗

I’ve gone to a total of two therapists so far and the first one I didn’t stick with for too long because as nice as she was she just wasn’t helping. It’s like she had me just talk for the whole time and while I do need to talk to get things out I also need a little bit of guidance. The second one I’ve been with for several years now and I really like her. Like you said I’m not stupid I know what I should/shouldn’t be doing and she has never once said what the one said above. Just because I know what I should be doing doesn’t mean I can or know how to start doing those things. Hopefully all of this made sense haha. I wish you the best of luck 💜💜

Finding the right therapist can be really difficult. I really like my current and the one before, but she did seem more like just a person to talk to, which while it alleviated my isolation for awhile, it ultimately didn't help. I think we focused too much on my troubled childhood instead of moving on to what I should do in the moment. My current one though, doesn't tell me what to do like some in the past have. She reminds me that I've already learned the mental health tools, then tries to suggest different ways to use those tools, even if it's just small parts. I'm not doing very well at that, but these guys really do keep me holding on.

IRL, Tyler's coping mechanism is songwriting, while Josh uses running. I don't know if this was the intent with the MV but it would make sense.
