Dude. That was awesome. That has to be one of the most informative videos I’ve seen to date on any Fishing You Tube Channel! I’m just starting to get into pouring lead so this was absolutely huge!! 🍻👊🏻
Welcome to the hobby!! I try to be a good resource for all lure makers. Feel free to reach out if you ever have any questions and I’ll gladly help where I can!! Thanks for watching 🤙
Thank you!! I’ve had several people ask lol. It’s just too time consuming for me to do multiple molds. I would have to charge way more than it would be worth
I’ve had a few come loose on the hearing head but haven’t had them come all the way out or break yet. So far these new ones have been crazy strong and since the wire is angled back it comes across cover so much better too 🤙
@N2TW_customlures yeah....I lean on lighter side as I love finesse. 1/8 is my favorite. Can't wait to get home from work to see if there is room in mold . I really enjoy ur channel....I learn a lot...
My goal is to be a good resource for people. I’m going to modify my smaller cavities in the next couple weeks. I’m probably going to downsize my wire to allow a little more room if needed
The Tennessee Shad was a custom blend that I mixed up. I have a custom powdercoat video that shows how to mix up whatever color you want if you’re interested in mixing your own 🤙
As long as you don’t overheat the jig head prior to dipping into the paint then it will just evenly cover it and not affect anything or clog up the screw lock
Hey the RTV is not necessary if you want to keep lead from going down the shank into the keeper then you just have to use modeling clay obviously you have to do it every time you pour but that's way easier than using the RTV and waiting 24 hours for each side
You make great instructional videos and I try to watch all of them. I have this mold and will modify it like you have. What are your thoughts on using titanium wire for the wire forms? I have seen that wire used for commercially made topspins and am thinking about trying it on underspins. Thanks for the video and have a good day.
I actually considered using titanium wire when I first started but don’t have any on hand so I went with the wire that I do have. I honestly think it would work just as good if not better though. Let me know how it goes if you try it 🤙
Great content and well done format. The Poison Tail and Swing-Tail version are very versatile designs. Question: I do really well with the Herring Head, but I cant go half a day without eventually losing my insert, ball bearing swivel and blade, without adding some tin to my lead to harden it. Without hardening the lead, they immediately start to loosen and eventually fall off. Do you harden your lead or do you just use stock Do-it lead?
Thanks for watching 🤙 I don’t use the lead from do-it anymore. I actually bought a large box of lead from another maker a long time ago and don’t know where he originally got it but it’s not the super soft lead and helps with that issue. Some guys will mix 50/50 hard and soft lead to help with that issue
Man how many of those lead do it molds do you have?? I am starting out and have several any that you would definitly recommend for bass and panfiish fishing? Thanks love you videos.
I honestly don’t know how many I have at the moment. I try to make everything I can. Some of my favorites that I pour a lot are Poison Tail Jig Football Jig Freestyle Jig Head As far as panfish, I don’t do a lot but I use the tiny freestyle jig heads for the little bit that I do pour. That’s a 3.8” swimbait by Kearby Design. I have a video on it as well if you want to see more of it. www.kearbydm.com/product-page/3-8-ribbed-swim-8-cavity
@@N2TW_customlures oh ok, I already saw your video about that mold. Is expensive but I have to have that one no matter what. You should post a video with that bait in the water. The swimming part is very important to know before buying.
TH-cam gold!!!🙏🙏 thank you!! Please show the paint process as well!
Thank you 🤝 I felt like it was too good not to share. I can definitely do a powdercoat video as well 🤙
The guys over at Do-It should be over here watching for idea's and sending you molds to tinker with
Wouldn’t bother me if they wanted to send me some stuff to test lol. I’m always willing to tinker with molds. Thanks for watching 🤙

Great stuff! Appreciate you sharing the modification. Thank you buddy!
Thanks David!! It’s a lot of work up front but very much worth it 🤙
For making custom powder coat colors yes their needs to be videos on that for those of us that have no clue how to do things like that
You got it 👌 it’s actually a lot easier than you might think lol
You did such a great job changing that mold you should let us send you ours and just charge us.
Thank you!! I’ve had several people ask lol. It’s just too time consuming for me to do multiple molds. I would have to charge way more than it would be worth
this is awesome! I use underspins for saltwater all time and I happen to have that mold to, I'm gonna give this a try, thank you!
No problem!! I use the 1/2oz size for saltwater striper fishing a lot and it’s been my favorite. Thanks for watching 🤙
Another great video for us all to benefit from. Thanks!!!
Thanks Johnny and thanks for watching 🤙
excellent stuff....from a fellow mod junky.
Sometimes I can’t help myself lol. I just feel like there is always room for improvement
Golden! Wow!
Thank you. Appreciate you watching 🤙
I will doing this with the grass jig soon. Thanks bud.
That’s a really good head design as well. I hope they come out with another mold with smaller sizes. Thanks for watching 🤙
Your the mold modification King bro this is finding el dorado 🏆🦅🦅 I have this mold and I’m doing this 💯 Thank you so much 💪🏼🎣
Thank you lol. It’s a killer underspin and pours super clean after the mold is modified
You are very talented
Thank you I really appreciate the kind words 🤙
Great Video, dropping that poured head in there before applying your silicone is slick. I’ll remember that one. Thanks
It works great. The Vaseline is the perfect release agent as well. Thanks for watching 🤙
now that's a instructional video nice job thank you it was some awesome modification
I wanted to make it easy to follow for anyone wanting to do the same. Thanks for watching 🤙
Thanks for sharing your modification awesome video!
Thanks for watching 🤙 it’s been a fun one to make
Right on brother. Thanks for the great tip.

Thanks man!! I’m really happy with these things
Very cool mod. Thanks for sharing

Wow....amazing....I find the herring head wire forma break off or loosen and fall out. Now I have an alternative.. thanks...keep up the awesome videos

@@N2TW_customlures I replaced the wire form with spoon insert and cut so it has more bite. I like yours better
That’s a good idea! I havnt used the herring head since making these lol. I need to modify my smaller cavities next

I still need to modify the smaller cavities. Hopefully I can get that knocked out soon.
Great work dude!
Thank you and thanks for continuing to watch our stuff 🤙
Great job, awesome video! Thanks for sharing and taking the time to make this video!!! Explanation is awesome!
Thanks for continuing to watch Bryan 🤙 Appreciate it!

This is amazing!.... I'm on it..
Glad you enjoyed it!! Thanks for watching 🤙
Another great video!!
Thanks man 🤙 I love these underspins!!
well done

You make some detailed molds. What colorant did you use on the jig, your tennessee shad colorant
The Tennessee Shad was a custom blend that I mixed up. I have a custom powdercoat video that shows how to mix up whatever color you want if you’re interested in mixing your own 🤙
This is an awesome mod to the swing poison tail mold. How do you keep powder paint out of the screw keeper when painting the jig head?
As long as you don’t overheat the jig head prior to dipping into the paint then it will just evenly cover it and not affect anything or clog up the screw lock
Did you also make the swim bait?
Yes I did. I used the 3.8” swimbait from Kearby DM

Ya I havnt gotten any videos of it yet but I think Kearby has some videos on their Facebook page if you want to see what it looks like
Would you sell one of these molds?
The amount of time it would take to modify each mold would make it cost more than it was worth so I won’t be selling any of them in the near future
Dude, you're my brother! (I'll tell mom 😄)
😂😂😂 thanks bro 🤙
