Wow! Can't remember them being this good and fluid with the ball. Really impressive. No wonder they seemed to dominate so much for the next two years with them peaking in 2009.
South Africa were awesome in this tournament. Really feel this World Cup win doesn't get the recognition it deserves. Between 1995 and 2019 which were much more emotional wins this one was special because Jake White and the players created a winning team despite the SA Rugby Union sabotaging them every step of the way.
This team are remembered for (a) avoiding the All Blacks (b) that supposed England try - what we forget is how skilful the steam were; the offloading and passing is sublime!!!
We didn't avoid the All Blacks, they couldn't make it past the semi-finals they lost to an average French side. If they made it further in the tournament we would have played against them any time.
This team was ridiculously talented i mean they were so fluid with their ball handling and had world class players in every position. The 2019 side is brutal physically but not as talented as this one .

We nearly slipped on a banana peel that day. Game changed when John Smit came on and also their flyhalf, who was tearing us apart, did his ankle near half time and went off. Those two things swung the momentum of the game back our way.

Because the springbok is racist, it reminds dark skin toned people of a time they were discriminated against by being forced to share toilets with other dark skinned people as they were not allowed to poop on the same toilet as a lighter skinned person. Also they were not allowed to roam around neighborhoods where they did not live during the night time hours. Many dark skinned individuals just wanted to do some sight seeing at 2 in the morning in towns they did not live in but they weren't allowed to and the springbok reminds them of that time.
With Jake White before these other idiot coaches took over Springboks was 2 win ahead on the record games against NZ. We still had it and still deserves the name of Springboks. After Jake all went to shit because of South African Racial politics in sport and coaching. The 2007 squad beaten all competition including NZ those times and win the world cup. This South African team that won the 2019 world cup couldn't beat the All Black's on the world stage and if the All Black's would have played in that Final they would took it. South African rugby is not up to standard. I am routing for the All Balcks for next world cup

2009 much better than 2011. Beat the Lions, beat NZ 3-0, won the Tri nations and was the team named by Richie McCaw as the toughest he ever played.
Even with an average fly-half, SA team was insane. A monster pack, a world-class scrum-half, brilliant backs: too good.
