First time I saw this was on Metal Complex and I thought anyone had to buy one and carry this thing was crazy!
Beware! Make sure you check the detent before you do anything. I am now stuck with a $500 knife that won't flip!
@Obsidian-One you mean flick or flip? It's not really meant to flick. Just a flipper. Double check the lock as well
Prying aside, I guarantee a Sebenza would out perform and outlast either of these in any "hard use" scenario. I drank the hard use Kool aid pretty bad for a while but in reality, .125" stock and titanium slabs with a properly ground blade is all you need. Replace the m390 with an even moderately tough steel and you can go even thinner. I've done tons of prying with my M4 bailout in .09" stock. I used it to get rusty brake pads out of a caliper just a few days ago.
The lockface geometry is always the weak point. After a single time prying or a few hard cuts, the lockbar always goes to 80%+ lockup then never feels right again at its intended ~20%.
I've never handled the 6000, but it happened the first day I had the 1000. Flip the 600 open and I bet you can push the lockbar over; that's the weak point. Quarter inch blade stock and stupid lock locks shouldn't be accepted as a substitute for proper manufacturing.
