what Star is explaining in this video is the fundamentals of fighting games and that thought can be brought into other fighting games. you have your mixup strings where you force the enemy to commit to a defense option so that either you can keep going on your offense or they guess right and get their turn to hit. you may not get into fighting games after this, but it's awesome that you're taking time out to just see what it's about :)

this is such an amazing video format. it's basically a pre-made game plan that lets you start a fighting game with a strategy so you can focus on the fundamentals of knowing when to block and when to attack rather than what of the 10,000 moves to use. i wish every game had this.
Thank you for these videos! I'm learning a whole lot from these. I want to get better and play competitively and I know playing a lot helps, but having someone explain AND show basic mechanics and theories, it helps immensely! Looking forward to more videos!
These tutorials are honestly the most helpful I've ever seen for a fighting game. I haven't played Soulcalibur since IV and I just recently got my hands on VI, your advice has been instrumental in getting me back up to speed. Thanks my dude
I thoroughly enjoyed these last 2 tutorial videos, both from an explanation/learning view and and entertainment. It's nice to see you making these kinds of things again.
Hey ster i just wanna say that your the whole reason that I got into tf2 and the reason why I got 15 of my friends to play tf2, and I just wanna say thank you and that I'm happy to see that your doing what you love.
This series is great. Getting a lot of Soul Calibur nostalgia from watching you, and I was always a casual scrub, so it's fun to see some actual strategy being laid out.
as someone who has only played SF/Marvel and anime fighters for the last decade, this series is SO helpful for helping me learn how to think in a 3D environment. please keep making these!
These tutorials are so well done and fun, at least for someone like me who has no experience with fighting games, that I really want to buy it and try it out! Thanks for the sweet vids, Ster.
Would love to see you continue this guide! I’ve always enjoyed your content and I find this series very interesting. I know it’s been a year since this video but getting more soulcalibur guides would be really cool as a fighting game player myself.
Ster has been my favorite youtuber for quite a while now, your content is just fun and enjoyable to watch, not because of the content, but because of you, keep it up for as long as possible, i have actually watched your videos on this channel multiple times, even tho i know whats going to happen, it's sill fun

I don't really mess with fighting games much, but seeing you break it down so simply and destroy people with such a simple, measured approach is oddly satisfying.
Thanks so much for these great guide videos. Last time I played a fighting game I just tried to do everything from the start which didn't work out so great because it put me into a constant state of panic. :)
For Seigfreid, yes, all of his jumping attacks come out as or after he lands, except for one. When in the 3 BK stance (crouching), hitting LB/L1 will do a jump attack that looks like it'll hit high, but in fact swings low, and hits at the zenith of Seigfreid's jump.
You've always been the funniest and most self aware TH-camr. I've always thought you were capable of being one of the biggest stars on the platform if you'd put as much effort possible into every video, but thats not you; and just another reason why you stay so great.
