You certainly touched on my "hot" buttons for BL's. The 'way to long' to kiss, or prolonged staring is really getting stupid. Now, we have two guys taking 4/5 episodes of "faking" or interrupting, before they finally land a "hen peck". I realize that there are censorship issues, but if 2 guys in "Love in the Air" can play tongue hockey... then there is certainly A LOT of room for improvement in these shows.
