    Do you own any of these small cap ETFs?

    I know you like AVUV and AVDV for small cap value. Do you think AVEE is worth the expense ratio?

    • @OptimizedPortfolio

      Hard to say. It's very new, but it's also cheaper than my other picks EEMS and EWX so I think it will top those on my list if it gets a bit more history and AUM under its belt.

    I enjoy your videos. Thank you. I own SPSM in my Roth IRA.

    AVGV and chill. :)
    (for a one-fund-solution for all value sizes/markets)
    But def AVUV for specific SCV exposure.

    Great video! I own VBR and AVUV for the small cap portion of my port. Looking to add small cap growth as we get closer to interest rate cuts. Thinking both VB and VIOO

    Avgv for the win! Best 6 in 1 fund out there

      Probably a good one indeed! I talked about it here: th-cam.com/video/4_U77heiMt8/w-d-xo.html

    Surprised DFAS or AVSC weren’t mentioned. I think those ETFs are better than the ones in the videos since they do profitability screening and are more diversified than the S&P Small Cap 600.

    • @OptimizedPortfolio

      Admittedly this video is geared more toward a broader audience of novices for whom simplicity and low fees would be more important. I thought about giving AVSC an honorable mention but I'm also not sure it and DFAS are worth 22 bps more than SPSM.

    What about FNDC?

    • @OptimizedPortfolio

      FNDC is great for arguably the more advanced investor wanting to specifically target ex-US Developed Markets small cap blend with some factor exposure. This video here is aimed at somewhat of a broader audience of mostly novices with the goals of simplicity and low fees.

    You might have mentioned the dividend yields.

    • @OptimizedPortfolio

      Dividend yield is going to be pretty similar among all these, can change weekly, and should not be a factor in one's choice of a small cap fund. But thanks for the feedback.

      @@OptimizedPortfolio As a retiree who doesn´t have time left to wait for growth to happen and who is living off dividend income, I disagree.

      @@peterfischer7084 You make my point for me. Separating "growth" from "income" is purely mental accounting. Total return is all that matters at the end of the day, even for so-called dividend investors.

      @@OptimizedPortfolio" Total return is all that matters" is only true if you can realize it during your lifetime and if you won´t have liquidity problems along the way.

      @@peterfischer7084 Again, that's the entire point - total return is what pays the bills at the end of the day. The portfolio $ amount. Not dividend yield. Time horizon is irrelevant to that simple fact.

    I own AVUV which has been a terrible investment this year with high expense ratio. YTD it is underperforming Vanguard VBR by exactly 2%. VBR has an expense ratio of 0.07% while AVUV has an expense ratio of 0.25%. YTD, VBR is up a whopping 0.54%.

    • @OptimizedPortfolio

      Thanks for sharing! To be clear though, just remember:
      1. "High expense ratio" is relative: th-cam.com/video/1jkyZqC87MQ/w-d-xo.html
      2. VBR is neither very small nor very value-y and AVUV has smoked it over its lifetime: th-cam.com/video/s3WLGEwRFxM/w-d-xo.html
      3. Obviously YTD performance of only 5 months means nothing.
      4. AVUV is small cap value and is thus not part of this list here of small cap blend. My list of small cap value funds is here: th-cam.com/video/zMRFNMFbGSM/w-d-xo.html
      I own AVUV and it's been a great investment.

      @@OptimizedPortfoliothanks, I enjoy your videos and have learned a lot from them! AVUV is just a small percent of my portfolio and most of my investments are in Vanguard index ETFs. I need to be more patient! 😂
