Great stuff. Grovee curtains are pretty dope for the price. Would love to see another version with more LEDS for a better image. Thankfully got all my stuff before it sold all out lol. Now if we can get more fine control over mapping the lights in a layout. This would beat everything on the market.
Yes these lights are pretty awesome. I really gotta spend some time in the app to figure everything out. I was able to get all of my lights to go on and off on a daily schedule and switch between accent lighting and Christmas lighting at different times automatically.... Pretty awesome. I was having issues with the Govee app doing this but I was able to do everything in the Alexa app and it works perfect. Got some Govee curtain lights and Govee glide lights for my teen’s room thinking they were just LED’s for kids, but I’ll tell you what, The lights are so awesome, bright, and colorful. They just make you feel like the world is alright…Me and the Mrs are getting some of the Govee LED strips to put in our room now😂😂😂…Really great lighting.
I just recently paused my Christmas light automation and was getting ready to pull down my curtain lights for the year. Half of me wants to and the other half wants to leave them where they are so I can theme every holiday. Decisions decisions 🤔. I do agree though, the lights bring a bit of joy when seeing them 😊
Great video, thanks. Have you managed to figure out how to get it to automatically scroll through different scenes? I tried the auto-play function but it doesn't seem to work.
I haven't yet, just been really busy, but I am really hoping to make sometime this weekend. I do plan on making a video of how I automate the lights from off to accent lighting then to Christmas lighting and back to accent lighting before turning off in the morning. Hopefully I can figure out some of the automation by then and I can throw it in the video. Thx for watching and taking the time to comment 😊
it can be done but if you splice 2 or 3 sets together you dont get as many scenes as you do with single curtains. the only problem for me in auto play is you can only add up to 20 different scenes and the smallest time between scene chanegs is 5 mins, i would prefer times down to 1,2,3,4 as 5 or above is to long looking at the same scene. Oh and autoplay scene changes are sent from the cloud ? dont know why, but that means if your internet goes down your autoplay stops working, i have sent govee a message about these small problems and i hope they fix them in a new firmwear cheers kevin
@@kevinbaker1873 reading your comment and thinking about it 🤔... I'm pretty sure I could set different routines in the Alexa app changing the scene at 1 minute {or more} intervals. It would take some work as instead of random, I would have to Programe each one as in when to start and then change. May be worth it but maybe to much work as well. If only I had 30hrs in a day to get everything done 😑
I’ve been considering these for my front porch but since I live in Michigan was concerned about wind blowing around the bottom since they aren’t weighted. Thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions? Any and all would be great since I really like this system. Appreciate u and how detailed your video is!
Also in Michigan and plan on using zip ties on a wooden dowel on the bottom. Doing the wood strip on top also with a black shower curtain behind it. When not in use I will roll it all up
I was wondering the same thing but mine I want to go in front of a big bay window and I'm not sure how I attach it without messing up my trim and or window siding and it's something I would like to leave up all year round any thoughts on that?
@@billconrad7366 just thinking right off the top of my head, I would build a frame out of wood of corse, and stretch each strand down to the bottom spacing each equal to the top spacing. You could staple each strand or sandwich each strand between 2 pieces of wood using pressure to hold in place. You could even mount neodymium magnets to the wood frame so the magnets can hold the frame to the nails in the studs, so no permanent damage to your home. Paint to match 👍
@@Seven7ails unfortunately each has its own power brick. It would definitely be better if they would connect together and only use one power brick and controller.
@@T_B_C_L Yeah i was hoping they would connect together off one power supply. I got two sets and was trying to find out if they hooked together or if i have to try and make sure they have their own plug in at each end. thanks for the video it helped a lot.
I wish I had bought 3 sets instead of the one large set. Where you showed in the app about splice devices mine didn’t give me that option because it came as one 14 foot curtain but it acts as 3 separate curtains 😡😡😡😡😡
@ yes these are the Govee curtain lights 2. Now they come in 5 foot 10 foot and 15 foot models. But all sold as a kit with one single controller. I can’t seem to find an answer to my problem. I can’t be the only one that’s had this happen
@@lorbaypg oh, well that's odd that a set is not already set to work as one. Definitely make sure lights firmware is up dated as well as the Govee app. Other than that I'm really not sure. Wish I could be more help 🙁
I thought about doing this but honestly it would just be to much hassle as I'm in and out of the garage constantly and I don't have easy access to power. I appreciate the offer though.

Just get you a small piece of wood like a 1x1x10 or whatever length you need and staple each strand to the wood. That should do the trick.

I think it's actually less but, make sure you update the app. When I updated I had many more scenes then before the update.
