Filmed literally 3 minutes from where I live! My favourite actor OF ALL TIME. And I didn't know about it!!! I wanna cry! Rose Bruford students, faculty, is there any way anyone else can attend these things?! I'm an old drama student, and this is GOLD DUST! I'm so happy he talked about STATE OF GRACE! I think Jackie Flannery IS Gary's greatest performance, in a sea of great performances! Did anyone who attends Rose Bruford get to talk to him? Spend time with him? I'm deathly sincere. I'd do anything to attend something like this! Isn't it incredible he came back to where he started to talk?
I also live a few minutes from Rose Bruford and will echo your sentiment lol Oldman has been a hero of mine since I was a kid, unfortunately though I'm pretty sure these talks are exclusively for the students. Great shout on State of Grace btw, it's a MASSIVELY underrated gem
Gary is truly an amazing artist and seems to be a lifetime learner, how grand would it be to have the chance to meet him and express thanks for the art he brings to his fans.
Truly superb and versatile actor. Apart from his more famous roles, one of my favourites of his is 2006’s “The Backwoods” where, as ever, he’s outstanding. A very tense thriller based in rural Spain where he plays again type as the main protagonist rather than antagonist. Well worth your time to check it out.
I grew up on Gary Oldman. But I gotta say he killed the character Drexl. Being half black I have a lot of family members and friends that talk like that. And sometimes I do depending on who I'm around. He was just spot on👌
I love that he says it is hard work, every one needs to do the work to learn, to grow to build your craft. Too many young people don’t know how to work hard or maybe don’t wanna! Most successful people didn’t just land into good fortune.
I heard the guys who worked with him in State of Grace where so spooked by his performance they called him The Ghost cus he reminded them so much of the real guy 💪 he's Great 💪
He is not only great...he is one of the BEST!!! He is not only "playing" characters...! Miraculously, he is able to transform himself into ANY OTHER man!!! (And sometimes in the mind of a monster, ghost, animal...and I BET, he could even play a CHAIR...convincingly!) Gary Oldman is the ONLY person/actor I know...with the amazing talent to embody PERFECTLY all you can imagine...! (Except himself!!!) You can see it in his every Interview...! It is easier for him to express himself by wearing a mask or rehearsing a text...than to "play an ordinary Oldman as the private person!!!" He was truly born only to be an actor....nothing else!!!
I love all types of music and have known so many in music from artists to managers and I believe knowing your characters favourite music helps find the person
I know what you mean. He's an interesting mix of hot and cute at the same time. I also think it's his modesty & sense of humor that makes him very alluring imo.
I don't understand why no one ever talks about Romeo Is Bleeding. I saw it in 1994 when I was 16, I knew that was his latest film and he had the lead. I'm a jazz musician, and I loved Mark Isham's score, and Oldman's performance is so moving. I wish someone would ask him about it at a Q and A. Who's burning him with a cigarette? He really feels that character Jack Grimaldi. Seeing that film in the theater left such an impression on me.
He said he didn't like Sid n Nance and Track 29, either. They we're great along with Romeo is Bleeding. Gary's a traditionalist. Alex Cox, Nick Roeg and Peter Medak..all very un-traditional directors, for what it's worth. Leon was just a repeat "outrageous" performance. Drac and 5th Element, also. Became known for doing the "out-of-control" guy...
I'm an engineer but the work discipline is the same. If you want to be good or maybe even the best you have to be diligent and work. Oldman is just about my favourite living actor.
All his addictions he battled with on and off~screen. Gary, please come to New Zealand, you have the unassuming, humble and brilliant gear, ~ Bill Bailley is here 😷🖖
59:18 What does the audience member say? Always annoying when these movie types can't make up for the lack of proper miking and repeat an unmiked statement. (Singularity Summit people did that surprisingly well.)
I’m waiting for him to be cast as Satan in Paradise Lost! Hopkins would just chew up the scenery but Oldman ahhhhh. Fallen yet quite persuasive and seductive - he could do that. - make a believer out of you.
I don't think that is a true stutter - I think he's so full of energy that needs to be expressed and that little hiccup in his speech is the energy coming out while his brain is trying to think of the exact right thing to convey his feelings and answer.
I watched "Mank". Was very disappointed with the story the script all of it. He is a great actor but this was not it. Did anybody else like it or not ?

So cool man Gary Oldman! he has subtle sense of humor and I love him very much for it.
Gary Oldman's words have truly motivated me as a young actor.❤
Gary is truly an amazing artist and seems to be a lifetime learner, how grand would it be to have the chance to meet him and express thanks for the art he brings to his fans.
"If I can do it, you can do it too." - What a way to end!
Thanks for the video. He’s my favorite ❤️and I had not seen this one before.
What an excellent conversation. So many valuable insights, Gary Oldman is straight awesome. Much Thanks all round.
I've just bought the Firm on blu ray,he is just 👏 amazing.
Filmed in his local manor. South East London.
Thank you so much for this video: I love Mr. Gary Oldman! ❤️

Perhaps my favorite actor of all

True Romance is a fantastic movie and absolutely Gary made it so playing Drexl. Nobody could have played that part like he did
It´s very exciting, watching somebody thinking about his OWN thoughts!!! Mr. Oldman does it NON-STOP...and it´s a reall pleasure to see it!
Thank you so much for this ♥️
I love that he says it is hard work, every one needs to do the work to learn, to grow to build your craft. Too many young people don’t know how to work hard or maybe don’t wanna! Most successful people didn’t just land into good fortune.
I'm afraid most of them did. 🎩

There’s something terribly sexy about Gary Oldman idk what
Confidence.
I know what you mean. He's an interesting mix of hot and cute at the same time. I also think it's his modesty & sense of humor that makes him very alluring imo.
truly inspirational... thank you 🌟👏
Gary, the actor I was and other film buffs where crying out for, love his work.

I own it. Great film!

Love it! Thanks!
Love Gary.😘
So much to be learned from this :)
Incredible video 👍 thanks
So many roles to come
Love Gary totally
I'm an aspiring screenwriter but so interesting to listen to this interview
This is great. Testing positive for theatre disease. Still in Pre-Covidian times.
Commisioner Gordon, how far we come.
Watched from start to finish, the guy is simply phenomenal. Take his advice students an go get it!
Phenomenal actor!
They wouldn't take him these days. ❤
I'm an engineer but the work discipline is the same. If you want to be good or maybe even the best you have to be diligent and work.
Oldman is just about my favourite living actor.
Could anyone hear the line from the audience at 59:24 that caused that great outburst of laughter?
What did the guy say at 59:50 that made everyone laugh?
I think he said "Costa". There's a coffee shop right beside student accommodation that some students would work part time at
7:48 Can someone explain to me what he meant by "much of a muchness"?
Tiptoes. The role of a lifetime
The best
This guy will receive a Knitehood FOR SURE!! 🖖
All his addictions he battled with on and off~screen. Gary, please come to New Zealand, you have the unassuming, humble and brilliant gear, ~ Bill Bailley is here 😷🖖
Gary is so charming and sexy. Terrific actor and this video is a delight,
Great talk, but man alive how awful are those chairs they had to suffer! I have a chronic lower back problem and always notice crappy chairs.
3 minutes in and all I'm thinking is omg someone give them better chairs~! Just watching them both squirming to get comfortable made MY back hurt~!!
Dasselbe habe ich mir auch gedacht.
He's as good as Deniro and Pacino. And in some cases, superior.
What an interesting man. Meryl Streep watches people closely too I’ve read. I suspect all actors do this.
Lee Harvey Oswald in JFK.

rockstar
I did not know he was British, my word
That is what makes him such a truly gifted Actor
Please tell me you’re joking
At 25:03 is he mocking Ian McKellen?? 🤣🤣🤣
This 1:12:48 was such a cold but on point put-down on Dicaprio.
Hard to believe this guy played Drexl
天然のしようやく!😻
Grief counsuilinh, Georgia, stone mountain

Clearly the school is not to learn about audio and video :) That said , I'll watch anything with the by far greatest actor ever in
I’m waiting for him to be cast as Satan in Paradise Lost! Hopkins would just chew up the scenery but Oldman ahhhhh. Fallen yet quite persuasive and seductive - he could do that. - make a believer out of you.
One can become a Sidcup and go back for your shoo's
(The Guest) (The Caretaker)
YES. Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy ..... Yes!
Did he always studder?
I don't think that is a true stutter - I think he's so full of energy that needs to be expressed and that little hiccup in his speech is the energy coming out while his brain is trying to think of the exact right thing to convey his feelings and answer.
@@monahawk pretty sure that a stutter
@@richardmckrell4899 no its not
Und!? Was ist daran schlimm!?
@@monahawk Sounds like a stutter to me
did they teach him to speak in this manner
No, I think it's his personal speech style. So cute, I like it.

Ich fande den Film klasse
All I see is pure ego, nothing wrong from an actor but just says it goddammit 😆
