I haven't ever shaved it with an actual razor but I've used electric trimmers/ plucking and the occasional eyebrow razor but I was too worried it would grow back thicker. her skin looks so much brighter! there’s no issue with us shaving our faces as women. it doesn’t make the hair grow back thicker, that myth has been debunked by millions of people. shaving also exfoliates the skin and removed dead skin cells that can cause acne or clog your pores. make up goes on smoother, skincare products work more effectively and absorb much better. the list goes on!

So I noticed that I cringe or don’t take it seriously if I hear someone give a compliment or say something genuinely kind and it made me stop and think. I feel like the reason we see a compliment or a word of encouragement as condescending or cringey is because bullies have used kind words to hurt people, a great example being gaslighting. So I’ve been trying to get myself to notice it more and try to acknowledge when someone is being kind, instead of automatically becoming defensive or suspicious of their comment being made to belittle or demean. I have PCOS as well and I have to shave my face. I see a lot of people complimenting her complexion. I've noticed I get compliments as well. I think women should definitely embrace shaving their faces, even if they don't have excess hair growth. It's an excellent natural way to exfoliate and it's the safest form of hair removal. PCOS is very common as are various hormonal imbalances that lead to women having to shave and I'm wondering how common it actually is, but women just aren't being as open about it because society likes to shame us if we have any form of excessive hair growth.

    • @DeadKraken
      @DeadKraken ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Women should just stop caring imo. I understand perfectly if it is a very visible problem like with hirsutism, since society shames every little thing women have, even if it's natural, but if you have normal peach fuzz that literally any mammal has? No lol
      Imposing other beauty standard bullshit on women is not the solution, it's the problem.

    • @botarakutabi1199
      @botarakutabi1199 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I think society should stop shaming us for what they call excessive hair growth. I wish women as a collective would stop giving a fuck, and just be hairy if they want to. The only reason someone should feel compelled to shave any part of their body is if they themselves don't want hair there, or they're preparing for surgery.

      I think what Unarmed UIM said is right. Trends and beauty standards are constantly changing. Who knows, maybe sideburns will be the next big thing! In the 1920s having short bobbed hair and a boyish figure was the ideal for women, now in 2022 women pay lots of money for hair extensions and do workouts or get surgery for an hourglass figure. Your sideburns are a unique part of who you are, the girl in your class may not have been able to appreciate that but that’s an issue with her not you.

    Thanks for raising some awareness for facial hair in females, which is a thing. I think I have just as much hair as this lady, it just isn't as conspicuous because it isn't black. Anyway, to me, coping with facial hair led to learning a lot about wet shaving. I used a cut-throat razor a couple of times, too, to find out how it feels. I bought a Gold Dollar 66 off eBay and somebody who owns hones and knows how to use them honed it for me until it was shave-ready. I also invested 12 bucks into a leather strop. I practiced on my leg, where the skin is thicker and a cut easier to conceal. I was able to shave myself without cutting myself. Then I eventually took a straight razor to my face and it was a very interesting feeling. I didn't cut myself, but when I put on some after-shave, I felt like pulling a Kevin MacCallister. Really, that stuff stung! But it was an interesting experience. I stopped using a straight on my face when, one day, I noticed I had forgotten to strop. Really unpleasant feeling, felt like I imagine putting a shard of broken glass on your face. I continued to use the straight for other purposes until the rivet gave out. What I really like is that you can use it to shave off really long hair effortlessly and that you don't need to rinse it because the straight can be wiped.

    Every. Day.
    The hairs will start growing back in by the end of the day. Coarse, thick stubble. It feels and looks exactly like a man's beard. By day 3...yeesh. I could probably beat some men in the beard growing department. Not only that, it irritates the skin leaving it bumpy because of the constant exfoliation. It's really unsettling and am looking into getting electrolysis done (it just costs a lot of money).

    Beautiful video and I recognize the struggle. I have battling bodyhair since age 8, using mostly wax to remove hair from my face. I was told not to shave it because it could add more weight to the problem. But after watching this video, I might do the same. Her beautiful face became more clear and flawless thanks to an easy solution. I hope to see more of similar videos. By the way, are you sure this woman is middle Eastern? She is likely from India not "middle Eastern" Not only because of her phenotype but also she has these undereye dark circles, a trait very common in Indian women and rare in Middle Eastern people. An Indian friend told me that they are genetically predisposed to that kind of pigmentation earlier in life than others may be. Either way, you have a new subscriber. 👍

    great result! her skin is so gorgeous and clear. i also have pcos but mine gives me chronic acne which got better after a round of accutane and is manageable now with taking 100000 ME vitamin A daily, topical tretinoin and azelaic and salicylic acids, but it never completely went away. sadly with my acne any type of shaving results in severe irritation and a pus filled rash all over the shaved area no matter how well i prep and care for my skin after. i only have under a dozen dark hairs on my lip and chin so i pluck those, but i have very thick and very long white fluff all over my cheeks which is very annoying. i've taken to shaving it off with clippers and that seems to work without the irritation

    As someone with PCOS this is very comforting, I hated my hair, but I “grew” to accept it lol.
    I still wish doctors would research PCOS more, it effects 6,000,000 women in the US alone. *1 in 10 women* have it, and it’s the most common cause of infertility.
    Some people have it so bad that they can’t function at all, it’s crippling.

    Part of me so wishes women would be okay with hair on their faces. It makes me sad that society has made women so insecure. I remember seeing a woman with pcos stop shaving, she just embraced having a beard. Honestly, for real, it looked cool as hell on her. She was really confident too, despite having random people bullying her, for making a decision about her own body. I get if someone really wants their self image to be a certain way, but it really makes me feel sad when people are pressured to change because they're afraid of the social backlash of not conforming.
