I think a lot of people fail to understand that it always takes time to arrest someone. There's a difference between "he's obviously guilty" and "ladies and gentlemen of the jury, he's obviously guilty", and you have to do all the legal busywork before trying someone or a really good defense lawyer could get him off on a technicality.
Keep in mind that he's been under investigation before his company collapsed. There were whistleblowers that tried to reach out and were denied. It's not as if they only started working on a case against him when we got to find out, so one does have to wonder with how much time they had and how much was at stake why it didn't happen sooner.

The police, fbi, and other investigators need to take all the time that’s needed to ensure that without a shadow of a doubt, this guy did something bad. They also need to compile all the evidence possible to convict him, and ensure he goes to jail. Maybe it takes weeks, maybe it takes months, but in theory, that’s what the investigators are supposed to do. I like to think they stayed radio silent because of all his interviews. They were looking for every slip up and admission of guilt they could.

Technicities of law are very complex and if the judge rules those as mistaken non-based claims (which can happen with the correct deffense) they may hold no value and good luck with showing an old ass judge digital crime as complex as this one
The police, fbi, and other investigators need to take all the time that’s needed to ensure that without a shadow of a doubt, this guy did something bad. They also need to compile all the evidence possible to convict him, and ensure he goes to jail. Maybe it takes weeks, maybe it takes months, but in theory, that’s what the investigators are supposed to do.
I like to think they stayed radio silent because of all his interviews. They were looking for every slip up and admission of guilt they could.
They more than likely waited to arrest him until he went through with those interviews so they can compile evidence against him.
