    I have 4 XT8 nodes. I had then all wired together using the many methods you used. One straight to the router , other through moca adapter , and other daisy chained with switch. They worked well 70% of time . Then they would drop connections , be way slow, had to reset them weekly. I figured I try full wireless backhaul since it’s made for that and it’s triband . The results were amazing ! 2 solid months of flawless internet in ALL nodes . I Pay for 500mb download and all my 4 nodes get over 500. Average 550 to even 600 sometimes. Longest node is 60ft away others 40-50 from main node. In my case wireless backhaul turned out way way better then wired. I believe XT8 and xt9 systems are best Wirelessly. Hope it helps anyone with XT8 issues

    Can I hook up the Moca adapter to the cable tv coax? We have xfinity. Also, does the first Moca attach where the cable come into the house? Thanks. Informative vidro

    • @landpet
      @landpet  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes you can connect it to that. If you use a splitter make sure it can handle the 1000MHz to 1700MHz frequency. You plug it in where your router is, then the other unit goes where you connect it to your access point

    What about level to level in the house. How do the mesh systems work?

    • @landpet
      @landpet  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Works fine, again if you're going for wireless backhaul, you want to get a better system like the XT9 or better

      @landpet no clue what a wireless backhaul is. I have an xfinity router that is absolutely horrible in my house. I have those xfipods but that only makes it slightly less horrible

    Is possible to connect the moca to a switch to a wifi 7 router or secondary wifi 7 router? Or how does that work?

  • @TigerClaw305
    @TigerClaw305 ปีที่แล้ว

    MoCa adapters are great, Provided the other room has a coaxial cable available, The extra coaxial cable maybe in the living room where your cable TV is at, Some homes may have more then 2 coaxial cables installed like in a bedroom.
    However if you don't have any coaxial cables at home, The other solution would be to get a Powerline adapter, That would use your home's powerline to get a wired connection between your mesh routers for a wired backhaul.

    i have a question..maybe im doing it wrong...i currently have the Asus XD5.. i tried plugging an unmanaged switch, it doesn't connect.. i tried plugin a laptop directly to the LAn port..it doesn't get DHCP... i thought it was plug and play-...am i doing something wrong?

    • @landpet

      No, you could connect the other side directly to a computer if you wanted

    *landpet* MoCA adapter: Do you know of any mfg/model's of MoCA adapters that offer two coax connectors, as opposed to only one? Thank you for producing this video.

    • @aaronlee4913
      @aaronlee4913 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think you could use a coax splitter to connect two different lines though, it costs you only around $8

    • @landpet
      @landpet  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes, a splitter will allow for more connections. Make sure the splitter covers the range this thing operates on which is 1000MHz+ up to almost 1700MHz

    • @rcald-gz5jd
      @rcald-gz5jd ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@aaronlee4913 Indeed, you are correct. However, I'd prefer a splitter built into the MoCA adapter. *Aaron* Are you aware of any such models?

    • @TigerClaw305
      @TigerClaw305 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@aaronlee4913 There's a MoCa adapter that has two coax connectors from goCoax, The model is WF-803M, It has two coax connectors, One is labeled MoCa, and the other is labeled TV, So if you have cable TV in the room, You plug the cable from the TV of the goCoax to the cable box, That way you don't need to use a splitter.
      This model appears to be out of stock, But there are other brands of MoCa adapters that do have the two coax connectors.

    *landpet* I reached out to TP-Link about their coming Deco BE65. They confirmed that the units have indeed been shipped to Amazon. The awaited shipment is the reason for Amazon's delay in publishing the product page for the BE65 model. Very exciting stuff. I think this might be just the excuse I need to upgrade from the X55, despite the fact that I already have a 1gbps wired backhaul connection. *Question:* Does increasing the backhaul to 2.5 gbps offer a benefit, despite my internet speeds remaining at 600 / 20 mbps down & up?

    • @landpet
      @landpet  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There will be no benefit unless you have LAN devices that can support those speeds and they talk to each other when it comes to increasing backhaul speeds. However if you go to the BE65 model over the X55, your range should improve, it should also speed up a few more wifi devices assuming there's lot of congestion as it has an additional band.

    this doesnnt make any sense 😩😩 if I have slow internet downstairs and I don't have a router downstairs or a modem or anything.... but I am getting Wi-Fi from upstairs how do I boost the connection downstairs with the coaxial to Ethernet adapter,? (moca). the only thing I have downstairs ia a coaxial Port from the wall in which i use that to connect to my fios cable box. . how would I connect the coaxial to ethernet port adapter (moca) to boost my speed and still connect to my cable box to boost speed?? DOWNSTAIRS, when i dont have any internet devices downstairs

    Do you know if MoCA adapters will work with TP Deco XE75? I reached to them for support and they really didn’t know what I was talking about but then they mentioned having to work with Comcast and giving them the MAC address of the devices to get it to work. Does that sound right?

    • @landpet
      @landpet  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      MoCA adapters are compatible with any mesh system. Yes it will work with an XE75. The only MAC address your ISP needs will be the one on your modem. They don't need any other MAC address than that.

    • @landpet
      @landpet  ปีที่แล้ว

      probably don't have the proper splitters in your walls that allow for the correct frequency for MoCA to go through.

      @landpet thanks for your comment. I found the problem, the ethernet cable I used has degraded performance, so it was negotiated with my switch at 100M only. That caused my problem 😅
