October has been a month of impact, celebration, and connection for the Rotary Club of Innsbrook! Here’s a look at what we’ve accomplished together:
Supporting Mental Health: Kimberly Ivey from VCU’s Virginia Memory Project joined us to discuss the importance of dementia awareness. Our commitment to mental health shone through her valuable insights.
Celebrations and Inclusivity: Members embraced the festive spirit of Diwali and Halloween, reflecting our club’s diversity and unity.
Flower Fundraiser: Continuing our 32-year tradition, we raised significant funds through our flower sales, all reinvested in impactful projects both locally and globally. 🌸
World Polio Day: We united with Rotary clubs worldwide to reflect on the progress towards eradicating polio and reaffirmed our commitment to a polio-free world.
Honoring Service and Friendship: Celebrating 35 years of service, we gathered at Coal Pit Learning Center, unveiling a Little Free Library and honoring Maria Washington as an Honorary Rotarian. 🎉
Service Projects: Our members contributed through a garden cleanup at Linwood Holton Elementary and assisted with Sportable’s wheelchair basketball tournament, emphasizing service above self. 🌍
Inspiring Guest Speakers: Heather Crislip from the Richmond Forum and Zac Frederick from Crescent Development enlightened us on community building and affordable housing.
Grants for Community Impact: This year’s recipients include Coal Pit Learning Center, Shady Grove YMCA, Jackson-Feild Behavioral Health Services, and others, focusing on education, safety, and health. 🙌
Journey to Antarctica: Dave Tindall took us on a virtual journey through his travels, highlighting the wonders and environmental concerns in Antarctica.
