Trip Report: Flight on the Queen of the Sky! | Lufthansa 747-8i | Frankfurt - Chicago | FRA - ORD

Hello and welcome back to another Trip Report! Today's flight is onboard perhaps one of the most iconic aircraft to ever take to the skies: the Boeing 747-8i! Lufthansa is one of five airlines to still be flying the Queen of the Skies, and I'm happy I finally got the chance to take a journey on one. To be fair, I was a bit underwhelmed at first with how outdated the cabin felt, but as a whole, it was a great flight. The seat was comfortable, the crew was wonderful, and the wing view was spectacular. It's certainly worth the added amount added to your fare if you go out of the way to get this aircraft on your itinerary. I'm thankful I got to check this off my aviation bucket list, so I hope you enjoy this review. Stay tuned in the coming weeks for my last Trip Report from this journey. Nice video. I've flown this route a couple times on the 8i, and even last winter I din't recall getting a snack with the first drink service. Keep it up.

Given how powerful and imposing it is, Lufthansa's B 748 is the KING of the skies ... not just a mere queen.

Awesome! I'm gonna be riding on a Lufthansa 747-8 soon to go the opposite way. And on the way back on a United Dreamliner. Although I would prefer the Queen I haven't been on a Dreamliner and I wouldn't mind riding on one :)

Nice, the Queen is a great airplane and worth the experience! Dreamliners are quite comfortable as well, so you’ll get a nice comparison of the two. Safe travels!
