A few weeks later a second turtle of a different kind showed up also. I learned what to feed them by watching your videos! They have stayed around all summer, and have been a comfort to me after my husband‘s loss. I named them Myrtle and Fern.

Oh bless his heart. He must’ve been so concerned not being able to get up. I’m disabled & had a fall a few months back, it was the first time I’d been on the ground in years, couldn’t get up! I’m only 36. I was there for about 45 minutes before I could get help. You think back to a time when sitting on the floor & getting up was never an issue, so that was a bit scary. Sympathise with you big T! Much love to you & your wonderful mama for taking amazing care of you! X
I had a stroke about a year ago. Thru intensive therapy, they showed me how to get up if I ever fall. Luckily it's only happened once. I was able to get up on my own. Yes!
Oh Laura, please try to figure out how to walk and not fall. I've done that a few times until I tried to figure out how not to fall. I have neuropathy and this was all of a sudden. I have to walk with my legs a bit apart. I have to use a cane (or swifer) in the house. Can't do stairs without hanging on for dear life. My daughter helps. It's serious be careful. Now I feel like a turtle.
Tiptoe is really a beautiful creature. His eyes!! I am amazed at how fast he can move. There are a lot of reptile pets on you tube and I have learned so much..They respond to love and loving attention. I had little turtles and chameleon lizards as pets as a child , The lizards had real personality but the turtles not so much , but iloved them and took care of them..💕
Yes he really is I look forward to getting his videos everyday even if they're old ones.. I don't know why but it just lifts my spirits he's wonderful and so is she..

This is why you need 2! I’ve always read and heard from professional zookeepers and owners of these tortoises say always get 2 for this specific reason. They will automatically flip over another tortoise due to the fact they know it’s deadly and the instinct to keep their species alive is what drives them to help. Obviously you mama don’t stay gone long from home I’m sure. ❤️

This might sound off the wall, especially since I don't own a tortoise. Would it be possible for him to flip himself right, if there were mounds or objects that he could use to leverage himself upright from his on his back predicament? Maybe if some mounds were strategically placed. it would help him to be able to more self reliant. If it would be possible to lower the water level in the pool so that it wouldn't be a drowning risk, just for when he wasn't being supervised. I am glad you found him before anything bad happened.

Thats exactly what i was thinking, i think these guys would use objects like stones, fallen wood, etc in nature.
