To bad I was just young then. Very year we go back to Newfoundland to visit. I wish my uncle was still with us! That’s was his happy place in the woods hunting 😢
I’m heading to NFLD on Saturday, my son and I are going over to hunt Caribou with Central Newfoundland Outfitters. We get there Sunday morning at around 7:30 then the six hour drive to the lodge. Been waiting for this since 2022 and it’s finally here. The whole experience is going to be amazing.
Our hunt was amazing! I was able to get a very nice stag, 12 pointer weighing approximately 300 lbs. Central Newfoundland Outfitters is a first class establishment with first class people. Can’t say enough good things about my experience. I would recommend them to anyone. Can’t wait to go back .
Lovely captured camera work and absolutely another spectacular beautiful shooting filming footage adventure and you guys bonded so well and did such an amazing job ! .. TQSM
Awesome video and a beautiful moose. You are right about the rep of Newfoundland moose, but there are still a good number of bulls here that would make any hunter proud. More than that, there is no place that can offer a better overall hunting experience than this province, and a moose is just a bonus. As a matter of fact, once most people actually get here, the size of the moose doesn't seem to matter as much anymore as the breathtaking scenery and vastness of untouched wilderness leaves you in a place of awe. You need to experience it for yourself to truly understand, and I believe that's what keeps bringing the Canada in the Rough team back here year after year.
Great video. I love it when hunters put the effort in, instead of just riding around on an ATV. I would love to see a show of your caliber do an episode on ptarmigan hunting with bird dogs. Either in Newfoundland or the Arctic.
I just had a thought for retrieving butchered meats from a hunt from some distance. Could a hunter use a drone to assist in such a long distance retrieval?
Let me tell you something Mr. Beastley….what are you doing with all the meat you catch? I’m a hunter moose and, they split the meat all time, and, the next season,I have again in the freaser all year about….😊
That moose is huge for nl and clearly you're uneducated as fuck on what is "legal" there is no "size" limit in NL you either get a bull or calf license. No size requirements lots of times it's 2 or 3 point bulls people shoot for meat. He did a great job harvesting a large mature animal. Many Newfoundlanders like myself would love to get a bull of this size especially in central NL where I'm from! He did great and harvested an excellent animal!
@jonshivel4609 In Newfoundland there is no such thing as "legal size". If you have a male only licence, any male moose or calf is legal regardless the size. If you have an either sex licence, and moose is legal. That was a great represntitive of a Newfoundland bull right there.

Great hunt. Man what a hike! What were you running for boots?
Good quality, waterproof 10” hiking boots. You can wear rubbers but your feet will love you if you wear good quality hikers instead of
Great job Paul that moose is massive keep up the good work
Thanks! Was a great trip

Whats a rough estimate for a trip like that from Ontario?
You’d have to give Off Grid Outfitters a call.

Good luck finding a great bull in area #6! Outfitters got it wiped out!
Just gotta go where others don’t go. They surely still exist
That moose is tiny and barely legal
There are multiple sub species of moose. Body and antler size varies among the sub species.
