WR talent, scheme played a big part in the lack of big plays and some accuracy issues. Plus playing 2 top 5 defenses (plus Iowa) was tough. He will be good/great with a new scheme IMHO. Receivers still an issue...but hopefully the backs getting more involved in the passing game with creating mismatches will help a ton too. Should be so different if Franklin keeps away from the Offensive play calls. Coach K. will use the talent properly and unpredictably.
Yeah that’s very true, you look at some other Quarterbacks and you could make the argument Allar had some of the best DB’s he had to face in the country. I hope your right, because this season they might have a serious chance to compete with Michigan and OSU.
I'm gonna come back to this video when he's a top 10 pick haha. It might not even be next draft it could be 2026! But his true sophomore season was sooo underrated because on film all you see is him missing throws when receivers are still running as well as the obvious arm talent. But he rarely put the ball in harms way, and I don't know too many college full time starting QBs that had under 5 interceptions as true sophomores playing for a Power 5 school. The offense was a mess, no real weapons who could consistently get open (Theo Johnson an insane athlete with terrible route separation, ran like a mac truck lol and i don't think Lambert-Smith is ever more than a 6/7th rd pick at best). All that to say I'm excited for his progression this year because he has all the tangibles in the world, perfect build for a QB and he's a really bright/intelligent kid. I can't help but think of Burrow (Ohio connection and both won Mr. Football award) and how no one had him as a high pick going into the 2019 season, even though they play different styles. But NFL evaluators and GM's are gonna see the talent and understand Penn State has had a bad history developing QB's and think once they get him in their building, that arm talent will come to life!
I completely agree with you that he looks like a number 1 overall type pick and all the potential is their. And while I certainly could see him rising big time, I just can’t make the projection at the moment with the current film. There’s no doubt tho he has all the intangibles and work ethic, that’s something I don’t question about Allie. Nevertheless, I hope the offense gets it together! I hope Nick Singleton plays better/more this season as well! But we shall see, you’ll definitely have to hit me when Allar is a top 10 pick!
@@GSLINGFOOTBALL Yeah Singleton was very highly recruited and had a great freshman year. Yurkich took the fall from last year so we'll see with the Kansas OC if the offense looks more potent. It's still a little baffling both Sean Clifford and Allar have underperformed under James Franklin considering both were very highly recruited.. more so Allar I mean he was throwing all over the field in high school.. such a significant gap to Big 10 with defenses like Iowa and Michigan, Ohio State too
@@jshulman98 yeah hopefully! Not sure if it’s more of a scheme thing at this point, but excited to see what Andy can do with a full off-season. There’s a lot of potential and the Big 10 is open this year imo for the taking, so definitely a chance if they can figure it out.
Man I hope my raiders can get him in middle of the 1st round in 2025 because I think he’s young enough to where you can sit him if need be. But if he comes in and is ready to go you can start him. He has all the tools. He does have issues but they’re coachable I just hope he doesn’t get too much hype when the draft comes around trying to keep this one a secret. But it seems it’s not since we already have videos like this 😂😂. But yeah I’d get him in the mid to late first. I think theirs no QB this year coming out worth the 1st overall or even top 10 pick but I’d pull the trigger on Allar for the raiders at 15-30. Plus the raiders are a perfect fit run heavy good receivers & TEs. But it the raiders can pull what the Titans did and get him early in the 2nd round like the titans did with Levis it would be perfect as well
Yeah I think that he’s going to get every opportunity to prove himself this season. The Big 10 seems kinda open this season, so Allar and Penn State could be that team this year. There defense looks pretty solid too. Hopefully there OL will be able to hold up, kinda worried about it after losing both starters. Either way, you might be able to get that discount on Allar. In terms of this class, I’m with yah. I personally only have Shedeur as a guy I would take in the first currently, but there is a lot of uncertainty and a lot of prove it talent this year. Where as this past draft, we had a couple of guys we kinda new where going to go high.
Yeah I have grown so much on Allar so far this season!! I am very high on the potential he has and the improvements he has made this season!! And he kinda has some Justin Herbert traits too.
Allar had the most dropped balls by receivers in the power five last season with 28. Penn State wide receiver core was weak and clearly Mike did not do a good enough job being the OC there. That’s why we fired him. I agree that Allar did not play good enough and so would he. But it wasn’t all on him. A lot of the accuracy issues I think came down to him not trusting his receivers. I’m hoping for a big comeback season.
Interesting didn’t know that about the dropped passes, but yeah there is a lot, and I mean a lot of grey area when it comes to Allar’s film that is hard to completely evaluate. The talent is all their, and I thought for the most part he was able to see the field especially for a young QB. This season will be huge for him under Andy Kotelnicki.
@@GSLINGFOOTBALL I completely agree with that, and a lot of Penn state fans feel the same way. He goes through his progressions and has all the talent but he doesn’t always pull the trigger. I appreciate the video and response though!
Yeah probably, but I imagine he wanted to play and expected him to play after Sean left. Hopefully we’ll see some big improvements in the offense in general this season!

Dude. Me too. Telesco took Herbert. And now Brady is in the ear of everyone. I think this dude can be the guy if we keep losing

He’s take a huge step forward this season, and I am curious to see if he comes back, but I really think he’s first round guy now.
Future Steelers QB! Talking it into existence
Haha hey man it could happen!! I wouldn’t be shocked if there in the QB market after this season.

Ill take him overr sanders but not ward js 😂🔥🔥🔥💯💯
His film is so so much better than the 23 film imo, but I think that’s fair. I like Allar a lot!
he is......not good.
Some is scheme. He has to improve period. He certainly has the talent, but yeah he’s not there yet.
@@GSLINGFOOTBALL He allows others to scapegoat his WR's, Oline, OC, and HC. He never defends his teammates or coaches.
I haven’t heard that personally, but I also haven’t listened to tons of his interviews/media at the moment.
