Here's the man who brought in modern production at a time where it was unheard of. taking basic elements and incorporating experimental sounds, combining and splicing it all to come together, way ahead of his time, and ours.

Bit Pit what's so funny Lol. It's the truth, you need to go to this dude's catalog, Diddy wasn't the inventor of the remix, Pete Rock was remixing niggas shit and bringing them back from the dead, uplifting niggas careers, that's saying something, Pete Rock changed how production was approached, true genius, do your homework on this cat, and you will then be a believer

Might not need drugs for this, but, who knows. Some joint combined with this musical narcotic can take you to another world for hours. Glad I heard about this dude, thanks to a video of a Fort Minor song.

being a producer/mc/dj/music artist in general is a shitload more work than people realize. As with most hard-working people, they are on the edge most of the time, being annoyed by fans giving the same "that shit is sick" "good shit" feedback that has plagued them for years. I think most of the greats are just too used to dealing with fans, and they find it hard to really embrace people when it comes to shows.... im sure you had good intentions

I came up to him after he spun some records after a college show and told him that this beat was the dopest I'd heard in a while and he just seemed real disinterested. I asked if he could sign the album for me an at first he didn't seem to want to then got real arrogant about opening up the marker for him.
I didn't act like a groupie or shit just wanted to tell him I enjoyed his stuff. Maybe I'm just nitpicking but I left the situation feeling like one of my favorites was an asshole.

Dre is in my top ten (He's no. 6 I believe.) but not an "elite three IN MY BOOK!!! DJ Premier IS THEE GREATEST WITHOUT QUESTION! Marley Marl IS THE PIONEER OF HIP HOP PRODUCTION AND GAVE BIRTH TO PREEM AND PETE ROCK! Pete Rock would probably be number 1 if there was no Preemo. Dr. Dre IS A LEGEND, MAKE NO MISTAKE but remember The Bomb Squad was one of the first to pioneer layering in production.

i do not see how praise could 'plague' anyone. the least someone should say is thank you and given some appreciation to the people digging what they make. without them, they don't eat. that's my take on it, just basic manners.. always complaining about folks sleeping on their material, then don't want to engage with the fans who are feeling them. see what i'm saying?

Yeah, he stole a lot of ideas and majority of his shit was co-produced. Dilla and Pete made it from scratch. They didn't copy anybody
