I have made family calendars for years. I started when my son got married because my daughter-in-law asked for a list of family birthdays. Instead of a list, I made her a calendar. I take and collect photos throughout the year to add to the calendar. I also add the birthdates, anniversaries, etc. My tip is not to forget the family pets. I not only gift these to my adult children, I give them to my elderly family members. They seem to enjoy the calendar most.
@@Whiskeyandwhit Yes, all the events carry over year after year. I do however update all the photos. I also put a baby picture on the actual day of each person's birthday.

My Daughter in law and son had one made for me with 2 chairs one said Mom with a lady bug in the chair. (When we see a ladybug we always say MomMom is here) the other one says Dad with a Santa in the chair because he played Santa at the local shopping center for years. I so love it I leave up all year.
I love the lantern my daddy passed in October so thank you for sharing this idea. I also need to make one for each of my sisters they passed in 2014 and 2016.

Dad served as a Police Officer for 30 years, so thinking of doing one with “The Thin Blue Line” and make the same lanterns for my Daughters. I love your Family photo. I got a lot of “Family figures” on Creative Fabrica so have lots of fun tops, hair styles etc to use and do something similar for my family. Thank you for sharing the Canva family picture tutorial. I never realized I could make those projects so inexpensively. I use Canva all the time at work but just print on the copier due to the cost. Walgreens is in the same plaza as my office.
I'm glad you found a cost-effective way to make those pictures! I typically never buy the enlargements full price because they are always running some sort of photo sale. It’s one of my best hacks for large prints on a budget ♥️

I love everything!! So glad I found you. Only complaint- please think about giving your child’s teacher more than a bag of candy. You tip your waiter more for one dinner that lasts an hour with your food. Teachers have your child- your most precious treasure- 5 days a week 6 hours a day 9 months a year.

These are all great ideas! As a photographer though, could I make a suggestion? I tell all my clients that want to print their own images to go through Mpix. They’re a professional lab, but with drug store prices. Their quality is fantastic, and they also run frequent sales, and promotions. Especially during the holidays.
That's a great idea - I've heard of them, but haven't used them. My problem is that I usually need the 1 hr turn around for projects - but I will look into Mpix - thanks for the suggestion!
The record stand is really cute. I think records need to be stored vertically. Stacking them like that can warp them due to the weight. Does the rack help with that?

I’m thinking I would love to make the record stand for my sister, maybe next year since I don’t have the time this year and I live in Canada, too much snow outside to cut the wood and stain it.

I have made family calendars for years. I started when my son got married because my daughter-in-law asked for a list of family birthdays. Instead of a list, I made her a calendar. I take and collect photos throughout the year to add to the calendar. I also add the birthdates, anniversaries, etc. My tip is not to forget the family pets. I not only gift these to my adult children, I give them to my elderly family members. They seem to enjoy the calendar most.
Genius! IT's such a great thing to have, and then you can just duplicate the project for subsequent years! Win!

My Daughter in law and son had one made for me with 2 chairs one said Mom with a lady bug in the chair. (When we see a ladybug we always say MomMom is here) the other one says Dad with a Santa in the chair because he played Santa at the local shopping center for years. I so love it I leave up all year.

I love all your gift ideas, but the lantern for your Mum is my favourite. I lost my Dad on 16/02/2003, so definitely going to have something similar. Dad served as a Police Officer for 30 years, so thinking of doing one with “The Thin Blue Line” and make the same lanterns for my Daughters. I love your Family photo. I got a lot of “Family figures” on Creative Fabrica so have lots of fun tops, hair styles etc to use and do something similar for my family. [I’m a single mum of 6, stepmum to 7, Nana to 5 and StepGran to 1] so they’ll definitely get used a lot!! 🤣 I also got a few “Remembrance” SVGs on there that I can use for the Lanterns.

Thank you for sharing the Canva family picture tutorial. I never realized I could make those projects so inexpensively. I use Canva all the time at work but just print on the copier due to the cost. Walgreens is in the same plaza as my office.
I'm glad you found a cost-effective way to make those pictures! I typically never buy the enlargements full price because they are always running some sort of photo sale. It’s one of my best hacks for large prints on a budget ♥️

I love everything!! So glad I found you. Only complaint- please think about giving your child’s teacher more than a bag of candy. You tip your waiter more for one dinner that lasts an hour with your food. Teachers have your child- your most precious treasure- 5 days a week 6 hours a day 9 months a year.

These are all great ideas! As a photographer though, could I make a suggestion? I tell all my clients that want to print their own images to go through Mpix. They’re a professional lab, but with drug store prices. Their quality is fantastic, and they also run frequent sales, and promotions. Especially during the holidays.
That's a great idea - I've heard of them, but haven't used them. My problem is that I usually need the 1 hr turn around for projects - but I will look into Mpix - thanks for the suggestion!

The record stand is really cute. I think records need to be stored vertically. Stacking them like that can warp them due to the weight. Does the rack help with that?

What did you put over the letters that it adhered to and how would you do that with vellum
