Back in college, this TV show was appointment television for my twin brother and I. He and I would fry up some chicken nuggets and fries, turn off the lights in our apartment sit back in our leather recliners and enjoy dinner while watching this awesome show. He and I never missed and episode. My twin brother committed suicide in 1999. Just seeing the logo of this TV show brings back so much nostalgia. I miss my brother so much. He was my best friend. I wish I could go back in time to those days just to hang out with him again.

IMDB doesn't show a credit for a casting director for the series and only one person who was a casting assistant for the entire run of the show (bet she has some interesting tales to tell). The writers and directors for various episodes probably had a lot of influence on casting the less well known actors.

This was the show back in the day that had EVERYTHING: the sleek neo-noir cinematography, the glamorous Miami setting, the new wave music & big pop/rock hits, the cutting edge fashion trends, the exotic cars, and the big name actors & guest star celebrities. No wonder people stayed home on Friday nights just to watch it on TV back in the 80s.

I remember there was a controversy because he was not well know and he was pay handsomely for that movie but it was the movie that made him a Super Star. So it all works out for him and the producers of the film. A blockbuster of a film huge success when it came out.

I mean, Vice had the advantage of taking place after Scarface and in the MTV era of stereo TV. I remember NBC used to advertise "In Stereo" at the bottom of the screen when it came on TV.

When the first Ferrari gets blown up, Sonny goes to Castillo about a replacement, exclaiming how could he go to multi million dollar drug deals. That’s when he got the iconic white Testarossa - also a seized vehicle belonging to the department. None of the toys Crockett uses are his. Fun Fact(s): the original ‘Ferrari Daytona’ was actually a kit car built on a Corvette chassis. Ferrari hated that they did that so they donated a Testarossa. First time I remember seeing Don Johnson was in a TV show guest spot back in '77 on "Big Hawaii." I remembered thinking, this guy is a star - and then he disappeared into drugs and alcohol. Was so glad he pulled out of it to do "Miami Vice" because he really was Sonny Crockett. Same for Liam Neeson - in the movie "The Mission" he barely had any lines, but he stood out and I knew he would become a big star. It is amazing how certain people have that aura. The casting director in this show could see that special aura.

Wow. Didn't know some of these actors been acting for a long time. Gotta go with Ed O'Neill being my favorite cameo since his Al Bundy role is so memorable. Seeing him in the video caught me off guard. Phil Collins would be next then Liam Neeson.

My all time favorite show of the 1980's! My closest connection(s) to the show was I met the guy who was in charge of building the replica Ferrari Daytona's for the show. He relocated his business to Orlando when they were sued by Ferrari for copying their design. He would bring by replica Lambos (using a Fiero as the base car) by the auto parts store I managed. My grandmother met Don Johnson at a Golf tournament in Sarasota in the late 1980's and said Don Johnson was very gracious and nice. I dont think she ever watched Miami Vice! Lol!
