Great capture you made! What's your setup? What are the supergun, scaler and capture card you used? Thanks!

      Hi,
      Thanks for the comment!
This footage was captured from a Sega Rally 2 sitdown cabinet with the Daytona 2 stack in there, there is a DSUB/VGA socket on the stack which outputs at 24Khz.
      For the video:
From the D-Sub/VGA Socket on the Daytona cage @ 24Khz into a HD Video Converter Board HD9800/GBS8200 which outputs at 1360x786.
      (£12.40 Off eBay)
From HD9800/GBS8200 @ 1360x768 into a Neet Component/VGA to HDMI convertor which outputs at 720p/60fps.
      (£29.99 Off Amazon) www.amazon.co.uk/Neet-Component-Converter-Supports-Lifetime/dp/B00ENH8OV8?th=1
720p/60 HDMI Output from the Neet convertor into a Blackmagic Intensity Pro capture card.
      For the sound:
I made some loom that captures all sounds, that's left+right+front+rear+music from DSB2. The original Sega Rally 2 cabinet loom is unhacked.
I made 2 sections of cabling.
One section plugs into both the front/rear 4-pin outputs on the game cage then and splits the output into 2 cables. Both the front and rear each plug into a small Sega mixer pcb using 2 5-pin connectors (L and R on the Mixer PCB). The end of both of the other halves terminates into 2 male connectors that the existing wiring plugs back into. I scavenged the male connectors from 2 filter boards.
I then take the 4-pin output from the mixer that mixes the front+rear and plug it into another small mixer PCB using a 5-pin connector.
To get the game music I split the sound from the DSB2 into 2, one half goes into the remaining connector on the 2nd mixer using a 5-pin connector, the existing cable then plug into the end of the new loom using a connector from a filter board.
To get sound to the Neet convertor I hacked a 3.5mm cable and put new crimps into a new 4-pin connector that plugs into the 4-pin output on the 2nd mixer amp pcb.
I think that covers how I captured this model 3 footage!
      Thanks.

Wow! Thank you so much for the detailed breakdown and congratulations for your setup (not to mention your driving skills you showcased on your other videos)!
I'll be testing a VF3 board with my supergun and capture setup soon and hope it works right away, but if not (especially because of the 24kHz video output), your response will certainly be really useful for me to figure out some alternatives!
Thank you so much and keep up the good work!

No problem, I hope it helped.
The main issue is converting the 24Khz signal into a signal most capture cards can process. It's likely you'll need a HD9800/GBS8200 for VF3. HD9800/GBS8200 are cheap and do a great job, but I found it difficult to get reds to show correctly.
Good luck with capturing movies from your VF3 board, even after 20 or so years these games still look awesome.
Thanks again for your kind comments!

      Sure helped a lot! Thanks!
I'm most concerned with the 24Khz signal, yes. My supergun has RGB SCART output, which I plug into the XRGB-mini Framemeister and output from this scaler via HDMI to my TV and capture card (an Elgato HD60). I have seen people claim the Framemeister supports 24Khz signals with no problems, but let's see. If there's any problem, I'll consider pursuing the HD9800/GBS8200 route for sure.
Again, thanks for the advice and congratulations on your content!

Turns out I couldn't test the board after all because of a small detail I didn't predict: the board doesn't use JAMMA standard (and my supergun only accepts JAMMA). >___<
I'm buying a Model 3 -> JAMMA harness and will get to test the game in a few weeks when it's delivered. :P
