One of the few times I disagree with Mal on this one. I'm from Newark NJ, born and raised in the Vailsburg section right off South Orange Ave. Just because I grew up in the hood, doesn't mean I'm a street dude. I'm a straight up civilian. I'll readily admit to not being the hardest dude on the block, though I was tested and fought back when I was tested. I know rules of the street, but knowing the rules of the streets, and maneuvering through the streets and living by them as a street dude are two different things. There are PLENTY of things that I am naïve about when it comes to maneuvering as a street dude even though I have friends who are certified street dudes. Safaree is the same way. Just because you were born and raised in Brooklyn, does not make one a street dude. He was born in the hood, but is not of the hood. He's not out there living that hood life. Of all the Safaree songs that I've listened to, they're not about hood shit, they're about stuntin on people and stuntin in general.

One of the few times I disagree with Mal on this one. I'm from Newark NJ, born and raised in the Vailsburg section right off South Orange Ave. Just because I grew up in the hood, doesn't mean I'm a street dude. I'm a straight up civilian. I'll readily admit to not being the hardest dude on the block, though I was tested and fought back when I was tested. I know rules of the street, but knowing the rules of the streets, and maneuvering through the streets and living by them as a street dude are two different things. There are PLENTY of things that I am naïve about when it comes to maneuvering as a street dude even though I have friends who are certified street dudes.
Safaree is the same way. Just because you were born and raised in Brooklyn, does not make one a street dude. He was born in the hood, but is not of the hood. He's not out there living that hood life. Of all the Safaree songs that I've listened to, they're not about hood shit, they're about stuntin on people and stuntin in general.

Yea, you may seem them iced up when they're going to some premiere, or an event. Any other day, they just go out like normal people, and do normal people shit, while dressing like "normal" people. Also, I was on lunch break when a Quiznos I was in was robbed at gunpoint and after all was said done and the police report was done, I still had to finish my shift at work two and a half hours later.
You get paided to work, that's a requisite for you making living. Safaree didn't get $180, 000 worth(amount he was robbed for) compensation for doing a damn interview crying. So he had nothing to gain from that. Plus it was near death experience and he admitted Uncle his was killed in a robbery. And that he was thinking about that the entire time after it happened.
