UPDATE FROM THE LOCAL POLICE: "On December 28, 2023 at approximately 2:05 pm, CHP Redwood City units were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash on SR-35 (Skyline Boulevard), south of Page Mill Road. Our preliminary investigation indicates a Toyota Corolla was traveling south on SR-35 southbound, south of Page Mill Road, at an unknown speed, when the driver, for unknown reasons, turned to the right and subsequently struck a dirt embankment on the right shoulder. The Toyota then re-entered the roadway, crossed over the double yellow lines into the northbound lane, and crashed into a Tesla Cybertruck traveling north on SR-35 northbound. The Tesla driver sustained a suspected minor injury and declined medical transportation. No other injuries were reported. It does not appear that the Tesla Cybertruck was being operated in autonomous mode. The investigation into this incident is ongoing."
There's no point in making a video about it if the main thing that you want to see is how it held up and there's no actual pictures of the impact area on the Cyber truck.
You got pretty much everything wrong you could have possibly got wrong. Other vehicle was a Corrola, not a minivan. Driver's side of the truck was damaged. Toyota was at fault. Only injury was to the Cybertruck driver, despite the Toyota being crumpled. Almost as if crumple zones work as intended.
The side that hit was the driver's side the side u see is the passenger side, the damage is on the other side, the air bags went off on the driver side possibly indicating no pasenger
THERE IS NO DAMAGE IN THAT PICTURE BECAUSE THAT IS THE SIDE THAT DID NOT SUSTAIN AN IMPACT. The drivers side has extensive damage and the air bag was deployed as well. You dont take a stainless Delorean panel and just repair it. Those panels will go to scrap and be 100% replaced.
Don't mind bruh but posting video without much info is wrong I mean what you told was something everybody knew you getting my point eh! And sorry and I am sorry for these people also if their comments made you feel bad it's never our intention to insult someone and have a good day
The photo of the cybertruck is a picture that is rotated horizontally. The destroyed part is behind it. The image is rotated so that it looks like the right side is clean even though it is the left side. You can see the cameraman taking photos from inside the car on the left side of the road even though it should be on the right side of the road.
Why you jump quickly to post a video without enough info. Every one know other car brand driver age cause of accident. Also law inforcement is CHP. No I would love to make speculations.
Yeah, but he got the fact that the airbags were deployed correct! No point being mad that; Every. Single. Thing. That he had said prior to that was wrong!!!
In other words you have no idea what happened, how it happened, with what it happened, and in no other way had anything of benefit to add, but you wanted to talk and record your voice for some unknown reason talking about things you no nothing about, right? WTF?
Cybertruck does not/wont have badges ! And the foundation series badging you are talking about, is optional and will only be on the first 1000 units if they are opted for ! And also the badging is very lightly etched into the metal so probably wont be too visible in photographs !
Here's a post of dashcam footage of the crash site from the other direction. The other vehicle is a 4-door sedan. th-cam.com/video/nol7jOxtMRE/w-d-xo.html
NOPE! 😮 The Corolla went off the right side of the road first then veered back across the road and hit the CyberTruck on the left side at the rear door rear quarter panel. The CyberTruck could have continued driving if they had a spare tire. The bead was broken off the rim as visible in the last photo. The tire does not look flat, but it would not be safe to drive at speed even though it were fully inflated. You could however slowly drive to a safer spot (10 mph)
There is a picture of the damaged side of the Truck, The driver side door is open and there would have been no reason for the driver to climb out the passenger side door. Most of the damage appeared to be on the doors and rear tire area, it looks very drivable. Cars are only totaled if the damage exceeds a percentage of the value of the car or the frame is badly damaged, I doubt the damage will exceed the value! The truck clearly won this argument! That said good luck getting this vehicle repaired any time soon.
The car is an economic write-off that could technically be repaired. The Tesla is an economic and technical write-off that cannot realistically be repaired. There is damage at the front, and down the side including the one piece side panel. Just like a truck with chassis damage, that big one-piece item if damaged will total a Tesla. In addition, the airbags are blown, and the battery is salvage. It is finished.
Explained in under 5 minutes? Buddy, this video could've been under 2 minutes long if you actually had some fuckin interesting shit to say and didn't just read me a single reddit post out loud for 4 minutes and 42 seconds
These very fast EV cars and trucks are going to be in many accidents in the future. They go very fast very quickly and most drivers don't know how to handle then especially in wet or snow. The insurance company are going to be charging alot for these things. I drove the ford lightening and it was very fast, but I took it to loop around freeway ramp and that 3 ton truck acted like a 3 ton truck you could really feel that weight try to pull the truck into the other lane. Tires have max grip on the road you go past that max and you are out of control.
Unfortunately once all air bags of half the airbags go off they will deem it totaled but it may be different for the Cyber truck still gonna be an arm and a leg
Four minutes and forty two seconds of "Speculating all day"... the only useful piece of information in this whole video is the "UPDATE FROM THE LOCAL POLICE" comment. Trying to invent scenarios that fit an image could not be more pointless.
Its quite obvious that Cybertrashcan is going to be the very first CTc that is gonna get totalled as its obvious the driver climbed out of the passenger side....

Why post this video when you have no idea about the circumstances of the crash or even the car the truck hit, like bare minimum stuff. Bizzare
If you read the police report at the top it answered your question.
"Explained" really? this is more like "What I think happend on the crash cause I dont even know the other car's brand"
What exactly did you explain? This was like chatgpt explained an image

Is a small TH-camr looking for clickbait and don't listen to him
Its hilarious how the only injury wasnt in the Corolla 😂
Tesla got lucky this time. If someone was injured or killed in the Corolla we would be debating whether the CT is too dangerous to other motorists.
LOL that kid will never be insured again.
Lol the Toyota went into the cybertruck’s lane.

Highway 17 is 2 lanes in both directions with a center divider. That road is clearly one lane in both directions.

Both of them are totaled. Deployment of airbags always results in insurance write-off. And the battery integrity has been compromised.
