Today Is a Good Day to Die with Nahko

  • This podcast has been a long time coming… It was originally supposed to happen on August 11th, but the Universe had other plans for me that day. I was in a near-fatal car accident on the way to the podcast, and Nahko showed up at my house to help heal me with his music. Amazingly, that was not the first time where life was riding a thin line, and Nahko appeared to provide balance.
By intertwining our discussions with a few of his songs, I believe we provide a great environment for anyone to begin to tackle the hardships in their lives. Whether you are being affected by depression, loneliness/being lonely, overdose, or any form of toxicity, Nahko and I discuss what has worked for us and how it’s very important to just keep moving on through the rough times and it’ll all turn out well. We eventually wrap up our personal reflections on beating the hardships with discussing what happiness and the pursuit of happiness means to him specifically, and how he achieves it daily in his life. This podcast is a unique experience of painful reflection, personal hope, and the alchemy of music. His art is inspiring, and I feel blessed to weave it with my words on this special live podcast. Enjoy.

Aubrey helps and guieds me in ways he will never know. Im currently in a drug program and I've been fighting this addiction for over 35 years now and even though I've been clean and sober 11months now i still struggle daily to stay sober and just so happens today I'm board and feeling so alone walking the city streets of Manhattan with millions of people around me all i can think about is getting a drink and fall back into that warm blanket of comfortness alcohol brings me. I started listening to this podcast and it was like he was speaking directly to me. Im 48 now and ive been in prison or on the streets for so long it's like im trying to start my life from a teenager position. But the way he was telling us to let the stress go and just enjoy our lives as much as you can and LOVE. We are all one and I'm not alone and I'm not going to find that love in the bottom of a vodka bottle. The love is inside me and always will be. Thank you Aubrey!! Much love!!!!

You may genuinely be on to something here. This format of podcast including Nahko's beautiful music mixed in seemingly randomly and yet with great timing, was nothing short of incredible. I listen to podcasts daily and this one resonated with me deeply. I love it! Thank you for putting this out!

normally love the AMP so much, and I dig on Nahko, but I really wanted to head some more of brother Bear's perspectives! Aubrey took up a lot of space in this one, which he's normally pretty good at getting others to share... Felt like Nahko didn't really have a lot of space to speak, kinda almost just felt like he was there to perform, not bea human... anyways, hope Aubrey returns to his ways of coaxing others to speak!!

Ryan Sweat I got the vibe that nahko would rather express how he feels through the music as his outlet. One on one conversation he seems to get uncomfortable and start to joke and be silly when it's a serious topic. I could be wrong, just my perspective

This is what helped me in a dark day. I have since listened and watched this Podcast 4 times and will do so when i need it the most. For some reason or another, the message in this podcast touched me...deeply. Nahko is a very deep songwriter and i am now a fan of his work because of this podcast alone. Aubrey...keep preaching the words we need to constantly hear. When words come from the heart, it finds a place in the souls of the ones who Hear it. Thank you for being you and teaching me to be me. The journey is a long one...but we are never a lone, not really. Peace and Love!

Nahko bear, love his music... I would like to hear more of him speaking instead of Aubrey interrupting with his analogies. Though sometimes insightful and deep rants... too much Swearing. I believed in your calm mantra ...I'm am love" but then you changed the energy in the space and started swearing, again. Respect for your path and sharing space but Please learn to hold space for your guests and stop telling the same "war" stories about your ex-girlfriend and car accident. It is time to evolve. Aho 🙏

YESSSSSS, Nahko is fucking brilliant, strong, a WiseLyrical soul, undoubtedly a Medicine Man. Aubrey, thank you for sharing 💜💙💜

Was this the Aubrey show or was Nahko there to be the guest and speak because that was not the case!

Wout Eeckhout maybe revisit it in a different environment, it’s pretty good!

Yes it was a little awkward but maybe it's because of Aubreys high level of admiration for Nahko and his music, our brains are a funny thing and tend to behave strangely around people we have a high level of respect for.

I hope someday Aubrey Marcus can really surrender, find peace and accept himself. He just doesn't seem authentic and genuine to me. He seems to try so hard to put out a certain persona. You know when someone is comfortable in their own skin....... I feel that he is not. Aubrey is good with words, surrounds himself with beautiful things, has all these "cool" experiences doing psychedelics but I don't see happiness in him.
I also don't get the need for his constant swearing and use of the F word...... it brings the vibration down and adds a negative vibe to the conversation. Frequently having to use psychedelics to alter your mind to try and find yourself, is just an avoidance, another distraction from the pain you are carrying.

Was feeling the same... too much swearing and not enough holding space to allow Nahko to explore the conversation. It seemed one sided.

Dorothy Kearns just got to this episode, you hit it right on. Have been thinking these same things. I hope we’re wrong and he is happy but I get the same weird vibe from everything he’s about. This was one of the worst. Artist was so amazing yet the entire thing was a ted talk of an Instagram post.
