As a lifelong liberal who is disgusted and angered daily by WOKEism and what it has wrought, I have been finding many voices who reasonably protest and push back against this religion. Adding this woman to my goto list of those voices who are able to so ably describe and parse this problem is incredibly useful for understanding this movement, and getting a check on what my own feelings are about it. Essentially having my suspicions or disgust with WOKE be confirmed by such bright intellectuals helps me to realize that I am not a racist, or an @sshole. My concerns are, I discover over and again, legitimate, in other words--that I am on the right track. It can become disorienting being in the middle, and not having your fellow tribes people there to confirm your views. Lionel Shriver, Michael Shermer, Glen Loury, Andrew Doyle, and so many others help to light up the darkness. I hope we come out of this darkness. How much more can the west take before it slides into a WOKE-socialist morass.
If you see what has happened in the UK to former iconoclasts like Graham Linehan who have pushed back against ' progressive ' ideology ' and lost their careers because of it , then you have to admire Lionel for speaking out as she does .
