Bc America has greedy capitalism, trying to make money off everything, forgetting about humanity and logic..while most countries have capitalism but some business is about the ppl who pay the taxes. If they are sick they cost more and live on the streets making for a dangerous society. Just simple logic and reason, critical thinking is encouraged.
Bad food makes ppl sick, sick ppl don’t work or pay taxes, they become a burden.
Supporting ppl with the basics like grocery stores in walking distance for every neighborhood in this country , keeps road damage down and stimulates walking and biking which is healthy. Also you may not know your neighbor but you recognize them so is safer also. We have communities throughout cities.
I live in The Netherlands. Pay 175€ 185$ a month with dental and hearing assistance and old ppl stuff. and have never paid anything more. If had surgery would have to pay 480€
Every 2 years have to go to cardiologist bc have a special heart 😊..
Pay nothing for all those tests or meds. Hospital is so organized efficient to the core,
A child could find their way around.
So making profit off humane needs of every human on earth is just cruel and stupid.

Video of him walking, stalking the victim, ridding a bike, and hustled into court show a healthy mobile young man. Nobody at the hostel mentioned him being stiff and awkward in the mornings or having twinges of pain. That seems to argue for successful treatment of his injury. If FDR had lived and served his complete 4th term it's most likely he would've managed to introduce Universal Health Care following the Second World War.
The current situation in the US is a dystopian nightmare. Here in Scotland we have the most comprehensive cover in the UK. Health is devolved to the Scottish Parliament and the Scottish Government has ensured all prescriptions are free in addition to the "free at the point of service" NHS that has operated since 1948.
Alongside free Nursery (kindergarten) places for all pre schoolers, free school meals for 5-12 yr olds, free University Tuition for Scottish born Students- we also have free bus travel for children and students/young people up to age 22 and free bus travel for over 60s. Elder Care is also free.
NHS Dentistry is also available (although there have been strains on the service post covid). Yes the NHS is far from perfect and folks often complain but most Scots have no idea of the horrific scenarios that are part of every day life for US citizens who have no cover and face financial ruin due to hospital/doctors/prescription bills.
Americans are fed endless propaganda and BS about being the greatest country on earth- the American Dream- it's a myth.
America leads the world for serial killers, mass shooting- school shootings in particular, incarceration of its citizens, obesity. Guns, Greed and Corruption are the crumbling pillars of American society.

This lands tone deaf and insulting. I think you will find more people want universal care than don't. The idea we are happy about choosing our doctor and having short wait times does not reflect lived reality. There are few providers with openings, and there are long wait times in this system. This isn't reporting, it is propaganda.

Most Americans have experienced the unaffordability and the dysfunction of the healthcare/insurance industries, including pharmaceuticals and medical suppliers. We will continue to suffer because Congress is dysfunctional too (they can't agree on anything) and they are bought by corporate lobbyists. Fighting in court is not the solution. We have jobs and responsibilities that don't allow us to do that. Some doctors are on the take too. There are no innocent parties here except the American people who foot the bill to line everyone else's pockets.

Do not dismiss the British and Canadian systems so blithely because of high wait times. People who are NOT middle class, who are blue collar workers DO wait for vital procedures. I have need a root canal for 2 years, but Medicaid didn't cover it and then when I got private insurance, they didn't cover it either. Wait times are NOT the real reason politicians shy away from universal healthcare. Perhaps it is because lobbyists are against it?

Murder is not acceptable BUT permitting the healthcare industry to carry on unchecked is also not acceptable.
