During the Trouble on the Homefront quest in Fallout 3, Wally isn't part of the Tunnel Snakes anymore. He says something along the lines - "I'm glad I got out of Butch's stupid gang before things got bad". Implying he wasn't interested in going back and wanted to stay in the vault. So this creation kit quest doesn't make sense. If anything, Butch should've been that glowing one in the train station as Butch mentions he wanted to form a gang and "take over the wasteland". Not to mention, he's made some stupid decisions in the past.
You know I had come to the same conclusion none of it makes sense why would Wally carry out his venture all the way across the country to reform a gang that he didnt want anything to do with. And he wasn’t the brightest but he definitely didn’t seem dumb enough to sit around with a bunch of toxic waste let alone believe he’d get “superpowers” I think this was just a money grab half assed and thrown together for FO3 fans to waste 5 bucks on. I personally have many issues with creation club. The gun seems cool killing Wally would be fun but I for one won’t be wasting 5 bucks on 20 minutes of gameplay no thanks big pass.
He could've had a change of heart. I don't get where in that sentence I can infer that Wally wanted to stay. Perhaps he left the Tunnel Snakes, then created his own branch to take credit for the Tunnel Snakes Idea. Mack would've been known as the leader of the T.S, if only things had gone his way. Butch might've created his own T.S Gang out west, but whether it became popular out there is up for debate.

I know the placing of this is no ones fault but it was so funny I had to share at around 5 min in I got to the point where he says I'll show you a real tunnel snake and it cut to commercial. No joke the first thing said by the commercial before I was able to skip it was a womans voice say I want something delicious and rich in protein. I found it so funny I had to share. In truth, this is the first real content made through the creation club since they have started. I'm really glad they managed to finally make something of this quilty, however, lets not get carry away they may just get content and start hammering out wepon, powerarmer, and pip-boy skins agin.
Credit where it's due though, this at least has a LITTLE effort. It's not just 'hey, have this inferior version of an existing mod in case you're nostalgia blind', this did something and managed to tie into the game world because of it. Should it have more bells and whistles, oh yes, but it's not AS soulless as previous elements.
Now this is the quality content I've been wanting to see. I love things that add on to the lore but keep continuity in mind. And it was nice to see the tunnel snakes again.

I thought it was canon that Wally left the Tunnel Snakes after Paul died? I feel like I remember him yelling at me when the LW goes back to the vault, leaving only Butch and Freddie in the Tunnel Snakes. (Freddie I later found dead in the Capitol, stuck halfway under a fence. lmao I was so sad)
It's simple: Butch (and less officially the Lone Wanderer) is the last remaining Tunnel Snake. Killing off Butch would upset fans since he's too popular, and Bethesda is too fucking derp to provide any of their characters with an ending that doesn't involve death because obviously an ending in death is super fucking edgy and original and not totally predictable when Bethesda does it every fucking time. However, Bethesda still wanted to cash out on the popularity of the Tunnel Snakes to make a sale. Thus, they said "screw the lore!" and retconned it like they often do, and Wally Mack is now their Tunnel Snake that won't upset fans if he dies, and of course they killed him off because they have the originality of a loaf of bread.
it seems that Wally took that reverse psychology to heart and left to make the Tunnel Snakes his own gang, sadly though due to Wally haing been raised in a vault, he had no idea that Radiation was killing his gang, while he slowly transformed and went feral, no doubt quickly due to seclusion. big props to the creator of this CC mini DLC that is lore friendly, and sports some unique goodies to boot.

The only issue I have with this lore-wise are the classic 10mm pistols. We don't see them anywhere else in the Commonwealth, and yet all the Tunnel Snakes have them. Did Wally bring several pistols with him? And if they got Ultimatum from a Gunner, then why do we never see any other Classic 10mm pistols on Gunners? Could have been an easy fix by putting them into the Gunner level lists, or by having Ultimatum be Wally's keepsake from the Capital Wasteland (and maybe one other he gave to his 2IC).
Actually, the creation does add the Classic 10 mm to vendor inventories (Arturo in Diamond City for example), though to my knowledge it doesn't appear as loot in the world outside the Tunnel Snakes hideout.
Would have made more sense if the quest referenced fallout 1 or 2, since that's where the gun is from. The Gun Runners would have been a good tie in, we never really find out their fates and we have to assume that they manufactured a boat load of "classic" 10mm pistols over the years. I also assumed the "new" 10mm pistol was actually an alternative design rather than a replacement. I don't think anyone has been designing and patenting new fire arms sine the war. It's a gorgeous model though, lore aside it would be awesome to see in the game. I remember many years ago hunting for a mod to add something like this to Fo3
I just hope we get more. I said before how it coulda been a fun touch if they had the Tunnel Snakes and the Atom Cats had some weird rivalry for a while. That might have been neat to hear. But for what it is, this wasn’t all that bad and was kinda fun. Hope it keeps going as such
I personally think Bethesda should have added in Wally Mack as a ghoul companion to really drive home this 'DLC'. I still love it nonetheless. I'm a sucker for the F3 Tunnel Snakes jumpsuits. 💚
Adding him as a companion would require hiring a voice actor which costs money, while the rest of the creation uses old assets (excluding the TS Jumpsuit and Classic 10mm Pistol) which costs much less. Similarly they'd need to do a full QA sweep of companion related code and interactions to make sure adding Wally in wouldn't mess with other parts of the game. If he was added, he'd likely not have bark lines for the various location in a similar fashion to Ada and Longfellow. Adding those barks would be both costly and take a long time to implement. It would definately be a cool addition but likely outside of the budget Bethesda allocated to it. On the lighter side, there's nothing stopping a modder making a mod that adds Wally in or said modder can apply to make it as a Creation so all players on all platforms can use it (because Sony) while also giving it some industry level QA in the process.
They won't do voiced companions or quests because every money aspect mentioned increases astronomically when you have to hire a voice actor for every language Fallout 4 was localized in. That's why they wouldn't bring the author of Tales from the Commonwealth onboard with CC. An independent mod author may take up the task. There are no shortage of voiced companion mods on the nexus.
Creation Club "Dlc" are all mods. They're just partnered by Bethesda to be lore friendly and safe for the game. So. Bethesda couldn't have done this. Since they technically didn't make this.
This expansion doesn’t really make sense. In the quest “trouble on the home front” from fallout 3 we can speak to Wally Mack, if we do we learn that he left the tunnel snakes because he thought the gang was stupid, so unless he changed his mind for some reason, I don’t see why he would restart the gang.
I always thought that the suits in 111 were fresh looking and brand new because they haven't been constantly re-used for generations upon generations like they were in Vault 101. Either that or Vault Tec was in the middle of distributing new suits when the bombs dropped.
I feel that you would find Wally alive but as a ghoul and be able to talk to him and learn about what happened in the capital wasteland like project purity
I agree that this is just what we are looking for from creation club. Learning the fate of Wally Mack was both startling and comforting, in an odd sense. As you showed from the Fallout 3 conversation with Wally, he never wanted to be a follower. To think that he overcame all the odds of sustaining and relocating the Tunnel Snakes over the course of a decade is impressive. Perhaps, in a sick sort of way, he and the Tunnel Snakes achieved "super powers" and ever lasting life (though it may not be how the pictured it). This is what makes bringing Wally's journey to an end that much more moving... after all the work he did to sustain the Tunnel Snakes, it falls to you to either continue or destroy the legacy. So now I have begun vetting my settlers and companions to decide who is truly worthy of the honor of being a Tunnel Snake. Wielding the only true Ultimatum, we shall once again carve the Tunnel Snake name into history! Perhaps soon, we shall find Butch again, if he still lives. For now, it is time to honor Wally Mack, the Tunnel Snakes and Vault 111. There's only one more thing left to say: Tunnel Snakes RULE!
i like the settlement packs. but this is what you say, the kind of things we are looking for, tho this does leave a lot open, like what happened to butch, where did him and wally split from each other. maybe a few holotapes with wallys voice, to say the events that transpired since leaving 101.
@demonpride1975 Oops, ya just realized I had put Vault 111 in my comment, I meant to say Vault 101 (from Fallout 3). Since Paul is said to have passed away during the escape from Vault 101, Butch and Wally Mack most likely escaped together, initially consoling each other over the loss of their life-long friend and fellow tunnel snake. As we know though, the second stage of grieving is anger. I imagine Butch and Wally Mack traveled together at least briefly, until one of them blamed the other for Paul's death. Another source of tension could be allowing females to join the Tunnel Snakes, which Wally Mack seemed open to. Butch had previously pushed (presumably) for an all male crew, especially considering that he was being the rudest to Amadia... Plus his name is Butch. By the time Butch moves on to becoming a barber (Tunnel Snakes always have good hair), I assume he and Wally Mack had already parted ways. Butch liked to push people around, but perhaps it was true that he was more hiss than fang. Wally Mack didn't like the idea of being a subordinate, so it makes sense that he would step up to become the new leader of the true Tunnel Snakes. Perhaps Butch attempted to continue his own crew, but this seems unlikely. I think seeing Paul die opened Butch's eyes to the horrors of the world, and he realized he wasn't the tough guy he thought he was. Who knows? Hopefully one day, we shall see what became of Butch; and hopefully, for Butch's sake, he does not share the same irradiated fate of his former comrade.

Lij Sams I believe Demonpride was just asking about Butch's potential whereabouts, as this CC content confirms Wally Mack's fate. Seeing this content certainly gives us all the hope of seeing other characters from former Fallout games in Fallout 4. Bethesda wants to keep people hooked with content for Skyrim SE and Fallout 4 until the next Fallout and/or Elder Scrolls title is released. Creation Club has not been well received, but more of this sort of content may change that. Hell, I'd be fine with them claiming that they "fixed up" Rivet City (made it seaworthy again), and parked Rivet City on the shores of the Commonwealth.

Okay now this is great content. Love the throwback Bethesda made here. Now this was done right, and the fact they used older characters from FO3, with the tongue in cheek lore that actually makes sense, makes this mod worthy of the price tag.
And still they fall for it... Bethesda must be having a right laugh right about now. Can't you see, they are tapping into the nostalgia of the previous games, and using it to make more and more money off you fools. You really think they have your best interests at heart? If people enjoy these mods/microtransactions then let people enjoy it and pay for it. If no one enjoys it then no one will buy it and they will learn that this doesnt work. But if people are willing to pay then it isnt wrong to do so. And it isnt wrong by Bethesda to try to take advantage of this.

the only canon we get from fallout 3 is that the lone wanderer is a white guy with brown hair, blew up raven rock, activated the purifier, got sheriff simms killed will killing burke and that he left around 15 years the events of fallout 3 making him 34 when he did. we dont know what happened to butch, he could have been killed during the escape.
I'm not going to argue with you, because that is a fair opinion, and furthermore i would agree. Still, give them some credit, they made a bit of a mess and are trying to make it work... or at least the people who are making the Mods, or DLCs or whatever we want to call them at this point.
I hope we can get more mini DLC but much bigger & hyper than this, we want mini DLC with huge questline with voice npc if they could. hell if modding community can do that why not them right?

The tunnel snake vault suit looks handmade. Maybe the people from vault 101 ran out of suits and had to patch or make more suits with the resources they had.Thus the slightly different look.
i also like the slocum's joe pack. i would also like to see more themed building's that i can add to my settlement. maybe even more picket fences magizines. with both modern and retro themed items.

I'd say this is the first quest from the Creation Club that gives us hope for better, unique quests in the future, but there are some issues that don't entirely add up. If I were travelling the wastes all the way across the country, I'm pretty sure I'd know the effects of radiation within a day or so, or maybe even before I got out of the vault. There's no way someone could possibly be that incompetent. Either way, this is a good start for the Creation Club, and I hope there will be more this to come. Also, I don't like jumping to conclusions, but, have you ever noticed that in almost every Fallout 4 video that Oxhorn skips the looting of a female corpse if he removes the apparel? It doesn't bother me or anything, but it just makes me think that maybe one of his mods causes them to be a little more.. underdressed.. than usual? I've seen many others mention this in the past, but I feel like it is almost evident that it has to be true. Maybe I'm wrong, and he just happens to skip every single one that he loots for the apparel, but that sounds very unlikely.

it seems that Wally took that reverse psychology to heart and left to make the Tunnel Snakes his own gang, sadly though due to Wally haing been raised in a vault, he had no idea that Radiation was killing his gang, while he slowly transformed and went feral, no doubt quickly due to seclusion.

There’s some out there. Not always the best quality, but they’re out there. People have done good work with existing dialogue in the base game though.
really nice add-on for the tunnel snakes. didnt see that coming to be honest, but it was cool to see the gap relatively bridge.
The only issue I have with this lore-wise are the classic 10mm pistols. We don't see them anywhere else in the Commonwealth, and yet all the Tunnel Snakes have them. Did Wally bring several pistols with him? And if they got Ultimatum from a Gunner, then why do we never see any other Classic 10mm pistols on Gunners? Could have been an easy fix by putting them into the Gunner level lists, or by having Ultimatum be Wally's keepsake from the Capital Wasteland (and maybe one other he gave to his 2IC).
Actually, the creation does add the Classic 10 mm to vendor inventories (Arturo in Diamond City for example), though to my knowledge it doesn't appear as loot in the world outside the Tunnel Snakes hideout.
Would have made more sense if the quest referenced fallout 1 or 2, since that's where the gun is from. The Gun Runners would have been a good tie in, we never really find out their fates and we have to assume that they manufactured a boat load of "classic" 10mm pistols over the years. I also assumed the "new" 10mm pistol was actually an alternative design rather than a replacement. I don't think anyone has been designing and patenting new fire arms sine the war.
It's a gorgeous model though, lore aside it would be awesome to see in the game. I remember many years ago hunting for a mod to add something like this to Fo3

I personally think Bethesda should have added in Wally Mack as a ghoul companion to really drive home this 'DLC'. I still love it nonetheless. I'm a sucker for the F3 Tunnel Snakes jumpsuits. 💚
Adding him as a companion would require hiring a voice actor which costs money, while the rest of the creation uses old assets (excluding the TS Jumpsuit and Classic 10mm Pistol) which costs much less. Similarly they'd need to do a full QA sweep of companion related code and interactions to make sure adding Wally in wouldn't mess with other parts of the game. If he was added, he'd likely not have bark lines for the various location in a similar fashion to Ada and Longfellow. Adding those barks would be both costly and take a long time to implement. It would definately be a cool addition but likely outside of the budget Bethesda allocated to it. On the lighter side, there's nothing stopping a modder making a mod that adds Wally in or said modder can apply to make it as a Creation so all players on all platforms can use it (because Sony) while also giving it some industry level QA in the process.
They'd still have to hire someone. Bringing Hancock's actor back would still cost money.

They won't do voiced companions or quests because every money aspect mentioned increases astronomically when you have to hire a voice actor for every language Fallout 4 was localized in. That's why they wouldn't bring the author of Tales from the Commonwealth onboard with CC. An independent mod author may take up the task. There are no shortage of voiced companion mods on the nexus.
Creation Club "Dlc" are all mods. They're just partnered by Bethesda to be lore friendly and safe for the game. So. Bethesda couldn't have done this. Since they technically didn't make this.
This expansion doesn’t really make sense. In the quest “trouble on the home front” from fallout 3 we can speak to Wally Mack, if we do we learn that he left the tunnel snakes because he thought the gang was stupid, so unless he changed his mind for some reason, I don’t see why he would restart the gang.

I always thought that the suits in 111 were fresh looking and brand new because they haven't been constantly re-used for generations upon generations like they were in Vault 101. Either that or Vault Tec was in the middle of distributing new suits when the bombs dropped.

I agree that this is just what we are looking for from creation club. Learning the fate of Wally Mack was both startling and comforting, in an odd sense. As you showed from the Fallout 3 conversation with Wally, he never wanted to be a follower. To think that he overcame all the odds of sustaining and relocating the Tunnel Snakes over the course of a decade is impressive. Perhaps, in a sick sort of way, he and the Tunnel Snakes achieved "super powers" and ever lasting life (though it may not be how the pictured it). This is what makes bringing Wally's journey to an end that much more moving... after all the work he did to sustain the Tunnel Snakes, it falls to you to either continue or destroy the legacy. So now I have begun vetting my settlers and companions to decide who is truly worthy of the honor of being a Tunnel Snake. Wielding the only true Ultimatum, we shall once again carve the Tunnel Snake name into history! Perhaps soon, we shall find Butch again, if he still lives. For now, it is time to honor Wally Mack, the Tunnel Snakes and Vault 111. There's only one more thing left to say: Tunnel Snakes RULE!
i like the settlement packs. but this is what you say, the kind of things we are looking for, tho this does leave a lot open, like what happened to butch, where did him and wally split from each other. maybe a few holotapes with wallys voice, to say the events that transpired since leaving 101.
@demonpride1975 Oops, ya just realized I had put Vault 111 in my comment, I meant to say Vault 101 (from Fallout 3). Since Paul is said to have passed away during the escape from Vault 101, Butch and Wally Mack most likely escaped together, initially consoling each other over the loss of their life-long friend and fellow tunnel snake. As we know though, the second stage of grieving is anger. I imagine Butch and Wally Mack traveled together at least briefly, until one of them blamed the other for Paul's death. Another source of tension could be allowing females to join the Tunnel Snakes, which Wally Mack seemed open to. Butch had previously pushed (presumably) for an all male crew, especially considering that he was being the rudest to Amadia... Plus his name is Butch.
By the time Butch moves on to becoming a barber (Tunnel Snakes always have good hair), I assume he and Wally Mack had already parted ways. Butch liked to push people around, but perhaps it was true that he was more hiss than fang. Wally Mack didn't like the idea of being a subordinate, so it makes sense that he would step up to become the new leader of the true Tunnel Snakes. Perhaps Butch attempted to continue his own crew, but this seems unlikely. I think seeing Paul die opened Butch's eyes to the horrors of the world, and he realized he wasn't the tough guy he thought he was. Who knows? Hopefully one day, we shall see what became of Butch; and hopefully, for Butch's sake, he does not share the same irradiated fate of his former comrade.

Seeing this content certainly gives us all the hope of seeing other characters from former Fallout games in Fallout 4. Bethesda wants to keep people hooked with content for Skyrim SE and Fallout 4 until the next Fallout and/or Elder Scrolls title is released. Creation Club has not been well received, but more of this sort of content may change that. Hell, I'd be fine with them claiming that they "fixed up" Rivet City (made it seaworthy again), and parked Rivet City on the shores of the Commonwealth.

Okay now this is great content. Love the throwback Bethesda made here. Now this was done right, and the fact they used older characters from FO3, with the tongue in cheek lore that actually makes sense, makes this mod worthy of the price tag.
And still they fall for it... Bethesda must be having a right laugh right about now. Can't you see, they are tapping into the nostalgia of the previous games, and using it to make more and more money off you fools. You really think they have your best interests at heart? They are smart; you are naive, and the very reason why micro transactions such as these are sadly here to stay....
If people enjoy these mods/microtransactions then let people enjoy it and pay for it. If no one enjoys it then no one will buy it and they will learn that this doesnt work. But if people are willing to pay then it isnt wrong to do so. And it isnt wrong by Bethesda to try to take advantage of this.

If the Creation Club serves to get these mini-dlc sized content with a price lower than a lunch in MacDonnals, then why not?!
Seems to me that you must be those kind of sods that spend rivers of money in steam early access for games that never were finished, and now you are preaching to the choir like there's no tomorrow. This isn't EA, nor Activision/Bungie. Bethesda may have their bad apples, and the Creation Club may had a rocky start, but if content like this becomes the standard, and they actually make modding a thing, then this is the best thing they ever did.

I like it besides the fact that they’re all dead, find that stupid, Wally Mack may not be the brightest but he was still raised in a vault, he should’ve know better than that, would’ve been a pretty cool location with a bar and maybe a room and companion after doing some quest for them, I’d pay $5 dollars for that in a heart beat, but this seems a little lack luster, albeit closer to what everyone wants for creation club. On a side note, glad you brought up if it was cannon, I was thinking the same thing, just glad to know I’m not alone.

Yeah I realized that, quite disappointing
I'd say this is the first quest from the Creation Club that gives us hope for better, unique quests in the future, but there are some issues that don't entirely add up. If I were travelling the wastes all the way across the country, I'm pretty sure I'd know the effects of radiation within a day or so, or maybe even before I got out of the vault. There's no way someone could possibly be that incompetent. Either way, this is a good start for the Creation Club, and I hope there will be more this to come. Also, I don't like jumping to conclusions, but, have you ever noticed that in almost every Fallout 4 video that Oxhorn skips the looting of a female corpse if he removes the apparel? It doesn't bother me or anything, but it just makes me think that maybe one of his mods causes them to be a little more.. underdressed.. than usual? I've seen many others mention this in the past, but I feel like it is almost evident that it has to be true. Maybe I'm wrong, and he just happens to skip every single one that he loots for the apparel, but that sounds very unlikely.

I was actually upset that Wally Mack died. Turn into a Glowing One. Wish you can talk to him and maybe have him as a settler or a companion. Like that would be nice. At little more back story of why Wally Mack decided to come to Boston.
