Actually chaffing corn when it’s green is the most realistic, IRL you would not wait for it to turn to that brownish dry stage! Thanks for the info in this video!

I'd say it's statistically insignificant to wait. As always, thx for the videos!

Questions, where are the back tires of the harvester?

i'm a newb in FS so please excuse my dumb question; but why even grow the corn for chaff? speaking strictly game-wise (i have no idea how real life things go) do you get so much more silage out of it, its worth all the hassle than if you just had grass and mowed it 4 times in a year (with seasons), instead of 1 corn + 1 grass yields? with seasons on, you mow your grass in March, June, Sept. and in November for max yields.
considering the costs of a forage harvester and everything else (including plowing (you have to plow after corn), seeding, lime and all that fertilizing compared to simply rolling your grass after each harvest - no reseeding, no plowing, no nothing... why make chaff out of corn? game-wise....

Mainly it's preference of the player.

@@Driver53Gaminglove the options in this game, would be interesting to know which is more beneficial for yield of silage

It’s not player preference. The yield for the corn is higher …the highest in game and irl.
Also cutting several times a year vs one ? Kind of a no brainer. Larger yield per year and way less than half of the work…only time it’d be player preference is if you’re role playing.
Edit:even on the hardest difficulty, it’s 4 passes on your field for corn per year(not counting lime every 3 years.) less on easier difficulties, grass is a like 5 passes per cut, 5 passes to roll, and if your not running a mower in front and baler in back combo that would add another 15 passes per year if you include windrow as well, 25 passes per year vs 4 at the same time the 4 passes brings in more income………………………………. worse case scenario plant corn, harvest early, plant grass, harvest as much as you can until next corn planting, Imo that’s a lot of work though.

Has Driver done a video on time skipping vs fast forward with efficiency on productions? I swear he has but I can’t find it or I’m blind

Some of the crops other than corn can also be chaffed for silage. Did you test any other crop than corn for yield quantity?

      There are others.
Grass is easiest and rewarding but gives half the amount of corn. Think Farmer Cop or maybe Driver did a video of the details

But if you have a big Fields then there will be a bigger difference from cutting it at 4 months and at 6 months

How does the size of the field matter to when you can cut as chaff?

I guess he means that if you have a 40L difference in a 0.25 hectare field then youll get 1600L in a 10 hectare field 🤷‍♂️
