I'm going to miss OG and Doudecim Golbez but this is fine too. Was hoping he'd be a weird Marksmen-Vanguard hybrid mage with pimp slap melee moves but Double meteor and a greater emphasis on spatial awareness is cool.
agree. i love how he's got melee hitboxes in duodecim. i love that a lot, and here he just seems a straight up zoning mage, tho i wouldnt know i havent played NT
Day 1 main. Hands down. I liked him in the last game, but this is more accurate to what he actually did in FFIV. Plus, I love harassing from a long range.
I miss the physical aspect of Golbez's moveset as well as his bravery to HP combos. In this game, he's just throwing stuff at his opponent. I also miss the CPU nodes that appeared in 3 of his bravery attacks as well as Sector Ray. Still, he looks badass in hd. I will probably try to make him work when I buy this game.
This Golbez is interesting but I see his attacks are just throwing things, orbs and circles over all. I hope this way of playing'd good because I love Golbez
Through some testing, it was found that Black Fang can actually switch targets before the blast goes off, apparently, meaning that you can charge it on one person, then switch to someone else before it explodes, then damage them with HP damage before they have a chance to react. It's a little busted. Probably gonna get patched soon, but it's made Black Fang his best HP so far lol
I'd think that the stage is initially set at 400 AF appearance. The battlefield is already considerably wide, set between the numerous towering buildings through the heavy rain. Then, when the stage transitions, the area changes to Academia 500 AF's appearance. The chaos-infected city now has blocks floating all around the place. And... the "Academia" you're referring to in Type 0 is spelt as "Akademia".
He looks so easy to play. Seems like all his attack are straight shots that he can hit and run with. Use the fire shot to hit enemies then dash away and use the little distance you gain to charge the slower spells and if they get too close just use fire or ice shots and dash away again. He looks like a very passive type of character, perfect for people who love range types.
2 years late to this video, but eh Honestly, I wish they made Golbez a specialist instead of a marksman. That way he could play more like how he did in the PSP Dissidias, still being able to keep some magical ranged attacks like other specialists while also being able to fight good up close, plus he'd be able to keep his bitch slap move. And besides, a guy who commands a shadow dragon and wears that much armor should be able to do more than just throw stuff at his opponent and be able to fight in close quarters much better than he does in NT. Its not like NT had very many specialists at launch anyways
Exact opposite of Vaan, great at bravery, not so much at HP (none have additional damage). Also Vaan is his worst enemy both as a team mate and as an adversary. As opponent : Lose his Shadow dragon if HP hit, which is Vaan' specialty. As team mate : Need teamwork to hit with his HP attacks. Vaan won't stop spamming his HP instead of holding the adversary. Thanks
Man, he's completely different from Dissidia and 012. It's a complete 180, tho it suits him more this since he's a warlock. It always felt weird to me that in the first 2 games he would use the Giant of Babil's tech in his attacks. Didn't seem very mage-like.
Gameshunter92 really? Cause pretty much all his attacks were still magical in nature. The only thing that wasn't was him pimp slapping you into the magic. Honestly I'd much rather play a unique kit like his original. If i wanted to be a moving turret I'd play a flash game or something
I swear I saw the heat blast bounce off Tidus into Ramza, damaging both in the process in one of Golbez gameplay videos. Is it Tidus acting up, Heat blast's feature, or a bug?
I picked up Golbez from the start. Nothing's better than being an absolute pest during teamfights by having Aqua and Wind sphere's fuck with people as I go "haha meteor go brrrr"
I prefer the theme on duodecim golbez with the CPU, the shadow dragon is cool but they couldve used the CPU as base form and Shadow Dragon as improved form. Also his bravery are nothing like duodec...he was up in ur face with close range teleports with lasers into HP atks...he had several ways to aproach u and looked more fun to play..u could mix betwen mid.range and close range plays, here is just ranged wtf.
Yeah, this is looking like a really strange direction to take the melee-mage character. He's been all about throwing his opponents around and into magic with two-step attacks, and now he's just a projectile spammer like Kefka. The Shadow Dragon thing is reminding me of Rosaline and Luna in Smash 4, and not in a good way; in a harsh, limiting way. I wonder what possessed them to make him work like this... I'm willing to give it a shot, but Golbez legit sold Dissidia012 for me, and I bought the game because he looked so cool. If he's no good, I'm likely to get rid of NT :s
They fucked him up 😡 not only is he not a melee mage but took out his gravity magics with common ass elemental trash that kefka and shontoto and I think tira use and lightning it's blasphemy I loved using golbez in duodecim just super fun and great mix ups to keep opponent on there toes it's really heart breaking what they did to our golbez 😢
Andrew Hopkins I'm pretty sad about all the characters they gutted and destroyed too. I mean just look at squall one of final fantasies most talented spell blades, now he's just a regular blade. :(
Kaihedgie and he's was also the man in Black which was depicted as have a large black sword n he being the one why trained trained Cecil in magic and swordmenship so he's both a mage and a warrior sure he perfers magic tho n that's fine but what pissed me off is they took the unique way he used his magic n replaced it with boring everyday elemental magic that every magic user uses in this damn game you can call me n idiot all you want I dont care golbez was the mage I liked most cause he got up in your face tactics not play magic keep away like all magic users n that was why I loved golbez in the previous dissidia luckly I was good with garland n I did ok with jecht n I'm no stranger to sephiroth so I'll most likely go back to maining one of them
Ya need to admit that they work the simpliest things into a character moveset that actually looks danm cool. Golbez makes you fight his Shadow Dragon before fighting you, the only difference is that Golbez is going to murder you when his SD dies, not Golbez is going to die if his pet isn't around.
Since everyone's expecting Cid Raines for our XIII villain rep, for whatever reason, I think it'd be funny if we got Cidolfus as our XII villain rep. Throw everyone for a loop.
So, wouldn't this mean that the enemy team could just all focus Golbez at the beginning of the match, spamming their HP attacks until he's unable to dodge one?
Yes, but if Golbez is drawing a lot of pressure onto himself, his allies have more room to breath. . . perfect if they need time to ramp up, like Bartz or Kuja.
There is another rule about bravery damage. The more bravery you have, the more damage you take. Which can go from base damage up to twice of base damage. So stacking bravery might not always be the best strategy.

With shadow dragon mechanism like this !? !? who gonna using terra or shantoto ? He can spam all his stronger version of attack in the beginning of battle including when he respawn from death ? Even both Ramza and bartz start the battle in normal mode. And not even any bravery attack from dissidia ? what a big dissapointment in this golbez A.
Noctis Lucis Caelum if he has any of his bravery attack from PSP, then he can't really be a Marksman. Basically, his team's gonna need to be good at keeping his early game momentum, and that can be really hard considering how chaotic this game is.
Well why force him become marksman ? why not make him become hybrid character ? Even Ace have short ranged attack. And if battle average time is 4 mins, that means he can summon shadow dragon around 3 times + the moment he dies and respawn. Plus with his high damage output + very longed range (+10m SD mode) + Twin f'cking meteor + binding cold (giant AOE + 4 s freeze) !!?!? who need babysit golbez ? as long you keep enemy from ambush you, you can blast them away with .... well lets see, which better ? Noctis Lucis Caelum because he's a mage in game? That would help. And you can't always keep track of everyone. One wrong move, you can potentially lose your dragon, and i don't see all that much AOE other than binding cold and probably back air. And speaking of meteor, a meteor from anyone can screw him over too, although meteor always screw with everyone.

Trueblade Seeker ok but you're missing the point bro. His attack is just spam spheres. Even genesis rock is now just throwing a small boulder... Really? Cloud could bend down and pick up a boulder that size and throw it. Anyone can. Even my friend who loves Dissidia despite not caring about final fantasy took a look at this kit and said "wow that's pretty crappy. The more i see of this game the more i don't wanna play." and he's right... This new shit they're pumping out is hot garbage. But everyone's falling for it because "oh everything looks pretty now"
I hope we get his The After Years reskin. I need to see those abs in HD.
It's been 4 years and we still haven't seen his ancient roman lunarian styled naked skin with juicky abs...
"Binding Cold"
SD: Now, give your power to meteor!
G: As you wish.
"Twin meteor"
> I really wanna see that happen ingame.
CodeNameNES1 It probably is a combo you can and maybe should do if binding cold actually hits
Oh, his (Twin)Meteor quote roughly translates as "Give power to the meteor!"
Now if they have the "Very well." quote, it will be doable.

It would hitstun anyone trying to flank him and deflect projectiles, probably precisely why they took that out. Too safe.

Remember, Golbez did it first, not Madara. You just couldn't dodge/block the first one back in the PSP games when Golbez first did it.
ty for another video. this twin meteor sure a strong and fast thing. P.S. his dash called "Abyss Quasar" :3

Yes, but if Golbez is drawing a lot of pressure onto himself, his allies have more room to breath. . . perfect if they need time to ramp up, like Bartz or Kuja.
I don't know why but sometimes I see golbez dealing more than 480 on his heat blast. The globez and the enemy isn't buffed or debuffed though... Weird
There is another rule about bravery damage.
The more bravery you have, the more damage you take.
Which can go from base damage up to twice of base damage.
So stacking bravery might not always be the best strategy.
