“Points North” is the self-titled, second album by this primarily instrumental rock band. Spearheaded by guitarist Eric Barnett (a finalist in Guitar Player magazine's Guitar Superstar competition), bassist Uriah Duffy (Whitesnake) and drummer Kevin Aiello, Points North stands on the shoulders of iconic artists Rush, Cream, The Police and Dixie Dregs - but expands upon these influences and clearly cuts its own artistic path.
Their new album has Points North introducing vocals for the first time (“Colorblind”) but their primary musical focus remains the same. Simply put, Points North is a leading light of modern instrumental guitar music, single-handedly helping to revitalize the genre through their technical prowess, superior musicality and compositional skills.
Building a following on the West Coast by playing higher profile shows over the last several years supporting a diverse set of artists including Eric Johnson, Blues Traveler, Michael Schenker, Al Di Meola and Pat Travers, Points North has showed a determination that very few other bands would be capable of. They are talented and driven to succeed. Points North understands what a band of their style needs to do. They write great songs, deliver high energy entertaining live shows, and are willing to work hard to validate the respect and popularity that they so rightly deserve.

Now I wish there was more of THIS going on in the music scene. A true power trio but with leanings a little more toward the Progressive side which is more to my liking than the Jam/Blues/Cream thing. You gents are like diamonds in the rough in this musical climate. THIS needs to be supported, incredible!

Tone, taste, and chops. These guys have it all. Exquisite musicianship. Loved the guitar solo (Eric Barnett is a magnificent player), playing to say something rather than prove something without resorting to clichéd phrases. The drums and bass compliment and elevate the tune without being obtrusive, but are a show unto themselves. What makes a power trio so compelling to listen to....it began for me with Cream and Hendrix....these guys carry the torch exceptionally well.

Another incredible tune by Points North. Why can't I find these guys on Pandora?! I've yet to hear a mediocre song by them. Always top notch playing and they sound the same, if not better, live. I echo the what's already been said. We need more music like this. Congrats on the new CD!

Great instrumental band. Don't think there are too many out there anymore. Great sound, great song, great video. Seem they are very much in sync with each other. All three are magnificent players. Would highly enjoy seeing these guys play live.

I just wanted you guys in Points North to know you guys Rock. I first saw the band liked in my friend Bill the photographers page. I checked it out and was amazed by talent . Great guitar riffs, great bass runs, and great drumming. Love the instrumental concept. Keep up the great work guys.
