    I'm not Charles so I can't talk for him, but what I've understood by talking with him, he doesn't mean anyone should try to get 300-400g fish oil per week for years and years of time.
    The common suggestion for fish oil is 1 gram per body fat %. Therefore, if a client comes in and I measure him, his body fat is 30 % fat, in that case we would begin with 30 grams of fish oil for 6-12 weeks to improve his fatty acid balance. The dose is lowered most often at 12 weeks to 6-10 grams per day.

      my Gawd thats expensive just got designed for health fish oil 1 serving is 1.5 grams 1g of dha .5g of epa 2 capsules, 60 in the bottle im maybe 18% fat would be 18g a day i would need 12 servings 24 capsules a day so my bottle would last 2 1/2 days... so about $396 in fish oil at 33 a bottle my gawd wish i could convince my wife about this investment....i need to start a gofundme for fish oil

      @@jackclass5446 Hi, sorry I just caught up with your conversation. I would suggest to start eating wild salmon every day for 1 month and see what happen. I'm pretty sure after a month of eating fish every day, you could go for 2 days/week with fish with 3-5 gr of fish oil per day, that gives you the equivalent of 40-55 gr of fish oil / week.

    People need t understand Poliquin's mindset. He is a 'mad scientist' type. He doesn't care about practicality and always goes with his instincts over popular opinion. He's more likely to make a break discovery that way but it always means he probably recommends some stuff that's useless.

    Though I am a big fan of Charles Poliquin and I follow a number of his principles, I do not understand the need for 300 - 400 grams of omega 3 each week. 300 to 400 grams is frankly astronomically high. An entire kilogram of Barramundi fish (one of the highest natural sources of omega 3 fatty acids) contains only roughly 4 to 6 grams of omega 3 depending on the actual fish captured.

    I live in Finland and during summers the sun doesn't actually set at all in the very northern parts so I really didn't understand the 9 am - 9:18 am thing. You mean there's only 18 minutes of sun per day (incorrect and in fact polar opposite).

    There is not a single coach, trainer, scientist or pope... that holds the right or 100% truth.
    He has proven, thru getting many athletes on a podium that his knowledge works.
    It may not work for some, It may not be supported always 100% but he believe in what he believes and deliver it.
    It is up to you, whether to follow it or not, but say that Poliquin is over the top is simply non sense.
    He is certainly one of the best in the world, even though, i m not a proper follower of his methods.

    Charles repeated quite often that its HIS opinion, based in HIS experience. It should be a given that nobodiy really holds the absolute truth about nutrition and human health. But at least this guy is giving an educated opinion based on reseach papers he read and based on his own work. It's up to you take what you think makes sense and what's unreasonable to you.

    things working may be placebo,you do know that.They may also work for very different reasons from the proposed one.poloquins courses are the best independant ones if you know bullshit when you see it and just extract the good bits.

    Therefore, even if you eat an entire kilogram of Barramundi a day for a week, the omega 3 will only amount to around 30 to 50 grams at best. Everything else in the video makes sense to me, but the omega 3 requirements mentioned is simply to unrealistic.

      If you eat 1 kg of a wild salmon/day, it is the equivalent of 182 gr of fish oil / week. I think it is unreallistic to eat like our ancestor. There should be more research on this, I believe fish oil is the key to our evolution...

    55 to 60G of fish oil a day ?? I truly respect this man, but that's just obserd, that's like 55 capsules I'd have to eat. Even if I do get a lot of it from fish oils from cooking still I'd be having to take about 20-30 fish oil capsules a day

      If your'e going to mega dose like this, you will use liquid fish oil and consume a mere 3 tablespoons a day. This is a good one: amzn.to/2oQG4SX More economical and efficient.

    This guy picks and chooses bits of research which he likes. He is not a nutritional scientist and people need to stop believing his statements on nutrition which he expresses with such certainty.

    lad,the work strength coachs do with athletes may have very little impact on results in skill driven sports where most work is sport specific.Charles is very good but has some totally unfounded ideas he puts out there as truths.Also some coaches of incredible athletes are terrible,bolts for example is clueless about conditioning but it doesnt matter with usain.

    he got nobody on any podium ever,hes a strength coach,not a sports skills coach,sports are won on skills,tactics and conditioning ,he sjust a small part of their success like every strengthcoach.

    i know exactly when he bullshitting,unfortunately the vast majority of trainers dont because they havent the background education.Id say most of his stuff is very good but his ridiculous ideas just discredit him as a coach IMO

    really? look up these names(all medalists) pierre lueders, chris pronger, al macginnis, edgar martinez, adam nelson, nanceen perry, dwight phillips, chris thorpe, joe nieuwendyk. At least do a slight amount of research before whipping comments out of your ass. Of course he didnt PUT them on the podium, but his success with athlets from a broad range of sports is reason enough to at least listen to his opinion with an open mind

    Perhaps all his supposed athletes got so good IN SPITE of this nonsense.
    Olympic champions are likely that way because of great genetics and insane work ethic.
    Not from taking 60g of fish oil, and 30g of leucine per day, or eating a "paleolithic diet"

    hes a clown when he goes outside his area of expertise which is training,not nutrition.There is zero evidence we do any better on a paleo diet or that we havent evolved since then,its clear he doesnt understand genetics.
