In Jade Empire you can come back from the dead to stop Master Li, replace him as a tyrant or become a sodding statue and let him stay where he is? Tough decision, what to pick? 🤔 Hey, I always thought Link killed that mentor. I still think it looks like Link stabs the guy and disappearing is just him dying, shows what I know 🤣 I just started getting into the Fable games. Am I glad I didn’t have the hero kill his sister in the first game, because there is no importing that choice into Fable 2. Perhaps she’s just a different character that just happens to have the same name and be blind (still playing F2)
Honestly what Master Li says in the beginning makes sense, we should strive to learn from our mistakes, but this should never become an excuse to keep making them.
Darth Treya is honestly the best and the worst teacher. She both trains us to be the best version of ourselves, all the while setting up the destruction of the Jedi and the Force.
@@artturisiikanen3843 considering it's one of the main things helping to maintain life on some planets it would be catastrophic to destroy the force (supposing that it is fully possible)
I'm really glad that Theresa is on this list but we are forgetting the most important part of her tale to The Spire. She used the deaths of the wife and daughter of Bowerstone's ruler, Lucien Fairfax, in an attempt to drive him to build the Spire. She played the LONG game.
Like, half of the mentors that are in the class story lines in Bioware's Star Wars The Old Republic MMO game. First one that comes to mind is Lord Zash.
Similarly, in KoToR II, Kreia was a horrible mentor, though apparently she did such a good job as a cast member that she was asked to play the same role in Fable 2.
If we're counting the sword guy from Zelda, we should count the Outsider from Dishonored. He just gives you a tattoo and super powers, and plops you back into reality with like no directions of how to use your new powers. Additionally, he already gave your enemies the same tattoo and powers and only does so to be entertained by what you do with your super tattoo. Then he judges you based on your decisions. It's no wonder Corvo either kills people or sends them to a fate worse than death.
Well Wheatley is a moron and does almost get you killed many times, and Theresa is a manipulative power player that doesn't even offer any decent advice Like getting you trapped in the spire for 10 years, even though you could've broke Garth out and prevented all those lives from being sacrificed from the get go Or convincing you to overthrow King Logan the tyrant, but waits until halfway through the game to tell you about the Crawler and tells you to exact same things Logan did to prepare for the Crawler's coming (should've just left Logan on the throne, fuck all those bellyachers in Albion especially that bitch Paige, think Marcy Long from Fallout 4 but more self righteous)
Steve Malone to be fair Theresa is doing all this bad stuff for a good cause ie to supercharge her seer powers to find a way to defeat the big bad of game 3 that’ll devour the world while Darth Traya wanted to essentially get rid of magic ie the force so nobody can use it. Lmao
@@thevoidbender I'm sorry I was ambiguous there. I haven't played Fable 3. I was referring to the voice actresses, but if there's a serendipitous connection between the character stories, yay!

No, no, no, if you want to do it properly, then it has to be in the style of those Mass Effect guys: 'With total confidence: Kingdoms of Amalur is a good game.'
When I saw Birth By Sleep on the list I was fully expecting it to be Eraqus. He lied to his students, which made Ventus run away and drove Terra to darkness, he tried to kill Ventus and Terra, and he somehow never thought "Hey, maybe this guy that has been talking about darkness his entire life has fallen to darkness and will corrupt my student"
You didn’t mention another reason why Master Xehonort wants Terra as a pupil. He doesn’t want to take his body over just the heck of it. He wants to live forever. Xehonort wants to be forever young in other words. Also, being “Norted” is a word made up by fans. Not a word the game uses.

Jane? Why, she would NEVER do anything evil! We can trust her not to conquer us with orbital space lasers and an army of zombies.
As long as we remain useful, we have nothing to fear
She'll end up as the boss in a Nier: Automata easter egg CEO boss fight.
Honestly what Master Li says in the beginning makes sense, we should strive to learn from our mistakes, but this should never become an excuse to keep making them.
I was looking for a comment like this
I'm taking Luke's advice and hereby confidently asserting that OutsideXtra are the best channel on TH-cam
I confidently agree!
Whispers: just don't let OutsideXbox know, you wouldn't like Jane when she's angry.😱
Well you both sound very confident, so I know it must be true
@@maxvel0city906 Good point. I'm hereby confidently asserting it _really super quietly_
Extraordinary! I believe you implicitly!
Just wanna say, I see that PUP shirt Luke and I approve.
Can't get any more hipster than an obscure Canadian indie alt-punk band.
Xehanort can also be put onto a list of "People You Can Definitely Trust."
Master Xehanort from KH: BBS? What about Master Eraqus; he sends Terra on a mission knowing Xehanort could turn him and then tries to kill Ventus.
I just realized the plot of Jade Empire is the same as Kung Pow: Enter the Fist. "We trained him wrong on purpose, as a joke!"
How could you not mention that Xehanort is voiced by Leonard Nimoy... aka Spock!!!
Darth Treya is honestly the best and the worst teacher. She both trains us to be the best version of ourselves, all the while setting up the destruction of the Jedi and the Force.
and destroyig the force would be bad why?
@@artturisiikanen3843 considering it's one of the main things helping to maintain life on some planets it would be catastrophic to destroy the force (supposing that it is fully possible)
No Igor? from Persona 5 he may not be the main mentor but the ending twist.(Trying not 2 spoil the game.)
He teaches some stuff quite nicely, Morgana did most of the tutorial so..... I'm just saying Igor? isn't as bad as the people in this list.
@@katherina1643 I am talking about Igor's doppelganger the final boss he was there at the beginning of the game.
Ellen, are you just bitter that you didn't think to use Luke's Sunshine-tricks to promote Kingdoms of whatever-it-was?
How can I not trust Wheatley and Atlas when they've both got such wonderfully attractive accents?
10:10
Link uses Stab on Old Sage.
It is very effective.
Old Sage used Fire Blast!
It's super-effective!
Link *DIED*
I always thought based on the animation that the its dangerous to go alone guy vanishes because Link stabs and kills him whilst picking up the sword.
*Sees Wheatley And Theresa On The List* ...How Dare You Badmouth My Favorite British Ball And Fav Blind Seer!
Well Wheatley is a moron and does almost get you killed many times, and Theresa is a manipulative power player that doesn't even offer any decent advice
Like getting you trapped in the spire for 10 years, even though you could've broke Garth out and prevented all those lives from being sacrificed from the get go
Or convincing you to overthrow King Logan the tyrant, but waits until halfway through the game to tell you about the Crawler and tells you to exact same things Logan did to prepare for the Crawler's coming (should've just left Logan on the throne, fuck all those bellyachers in Albion especially that bitch Paige, think Marcy Long from Fallout 4 but more self righteous)
“There ain’t no atlas kid, names fontain”.
Me-oh, oh no.
James I think your cameraman disguise may have been compromised
I love you guys and have never commented. This is by far my favorite jokes on a single video of yours. Keep it up
Theresa from Fable sounds like Darth Treya.
Actually, Theresa from Fable is actually Madam Hooch from the Harry Potter Movies. I suppose Neville Longbottom might consider her a bad teacher there too.
After Skyward Sword, I thought the whole "It's dangerous to go alone, take this." took on a new meaning for me since at this point in the timeline, Fi would have been in the sword long dormant but in there through legend non the less, right?
Master Xehanort looks like he could use some eye drops.
and painkillers
The protagonist of Pokémon Sapphire, Ruby, Emerald, and their remakes. You're supposed to teach Wally how to catch Pokémon, but he's actually the one teaching you how to catch Pokémon (if you've never played a Pokémon game).
The Guild Master in Fable, that was a terrible mentor!
But did you ever stop to consider that maybe your health IS low?
I mean do you even have any potions or food?
@@LoriasGS Or that the Guild has some new quests for you.
The "would you kindly" was SUCH a good twist!!!
I love it!
Luke's dead? Again?
_Sigh..._
Ivan, fire up the cloning machine again
...
What do you mean it's 'out of proteins'?
...
What?
...
Oh, right. Mike. What's the earliest we can get another shipment in?...
Mama Westaway: "Have you seen my son Luke? Tall, fairly good looking young man, very helpful at reaching tall things for shorter people?"
Oxtra: "Do you mean Test Subject #714?"
Mama Westaway: "What?"
Oxtra: "Oh- LUKE! Nope, definitely haven't seen him.Sorry!"
How can people say Sunshine's bad it's Soo PRETTY.
TR:Last Revelation quote from Von Croy: Press X to jump!
I've tried it, but I'm still here on the couch.
I said no to sunshine for life because:
MARIO
ANGRY
SUN
4:17 My ultimate praise for Andy's shirt. I want one.
BUT ELLEN, Mario Sunshine isn't the best game of all time, don't listen to Luke, KINGDOM'S OF AMALUR is the best game of all time.
I said this confidently, CONFIDENTLY!
So confidently no one noticed Luke said "the best Mario game" not "the best game of all time" 😋
No, no, no, if you want to do it properly, then it has to be in the style of those Mass Effect guys:
'With total confidence: Kingdoms of Amalur is a good game.'
I love mario sunshine haha
@@iwasnevergivenaname8251 I've never actually played Mario Sunshine, but it has a loyal following and from what I've seen it looks like a lot of fun.
@@maxvel0city906 you gotta play it lol . I wish i knew what happened to mine because id play the shit out of it
Also the cave guy gives you a SWORD THAT SHOOTS LASER BEAMS. He cant be that bad
Ahh yes, Xehanort and his shenanigans
as for your question Ellen, nope, I do not get fresh air,
Jade Empire is a bad example lol. Master Li is simply using you to execute his plan and take out his opponents for him.
So Mike told you to do all that Ellen? Did he by chance do it all by note?
That Andy...er...Mike sure has some very specific requests lately
When I saw Birth By Sleep on the list I was fully expecting it to be Eraqus. He lied to his students, which made Ventus run away and drove Terra to darkness, he tried to kill Ventus and Terra, and he somehow never thought "Hey, maybe this guy that has been talking about darkness his entire life has fallen to darkness and will corrupt my student"
RIP Luke. Mike is the best mentor!
How come I see Manfred Von Karma on the thumbnail yet I’m watching Phoenix Wright right now
I was also watching Phoenix Wright, well, I'm watching Kubz Scouts playing it.
Multiple fans have tried to explain Kingdom Hearts to me, and it has never worked.
Kind of lost focus when Ellen started talking about Kingdom Hearts... nice voice though.
Don't mess with Master Li, he once punched a mountain, in space.
