I am 54 yrs old i do this same type of fishing in Pennsylvania wilds,, I am very impressed with this vid good job guys,,, i also liked how well you handled the fish as not to harm them
This is a great series, I love it! Backpacking in the woods and camping out under tarps, fly fishing each day in wild streams sounds like so much fun and I am hoping to do it one day. Fishing is only half of it, just being outdoors and enjoying it is just as fun, even if the weather is unpredictable sometimes you have to prepare for the worst. I can't believe it started snowing!!! Can't wait for the 3rd one I don't want this series to end but it'll be a great finish to this adventure.
Reid Vonrosenberg you definitely can’t underestimate Mother Nature. She’ll humble you really quick that’s for sure. But we had a blast just being out there and off the grid for the days even with poor conditions.
Went there last year. Camped in the same site. Totally understand fighting the urge to put a line in all the way up! Definitely a place I'll be going again.
You boys are so green it’s adorable! Lol. Reminds me of my crew and me back in the day. Keep getting out as much as you can. You’ll be leaving half of that stuff you brought up the trail with you at home eventually. The main thing is y’all went out and made it happen. Good on ya.
Great stuff again Scotty! Part 3 should be a great finish. All the Afco gear looks great and Sawyer is the best filtration system by far. Nice to see your work being recognized by sponsors.
Phenomenal work! I am a college student in Idaho and am obsessed with fly fishing. Good to see some videos I can relate to! Your videos are captivating and well put together! Keep up the good work!
Great video again guys. Weather is the one thing we can count one not being cooperative..lol. but you pushed through. Good for yall. Looking forward to the next episode.
@@WildFlyProductions that happen to us a few weeks ago. Upper 60's got to where we was fishing it was 32 water was 34..lol. we didn't catch a thing. But we made a video anywas.
Hey a little tip from my own ventures. Toilet paper always seems to get messed up for me and takes up a lot of space. I’d try taking baby wipes next time, it’s a real life saver lol
Thanks for sharing guys, great vid. Ive had some great adventures out there myself chasing after the wilds and native brook trout. It pretty much rains every day at some point in the Smokies!
Awesome video. Really hope to make it to Hazel Creek one day, but getting there is an odyssey in itself. Y’all ever fish Deep Creek near Bryson City? Opportunity for good fish but not nearly as remote as Hazel Creek.
Lower Deep Creek right as you come into the National Park is known to produce some good sized browns. I’ve caught 14-15” browns in the fall right in the campground. You can hike up above some of the falls and get more into rainbows and eventually brooks at high elevations. Don’t go in the summer though, tubers take it over.
I know you guys were fishing but you probably didn't realize there are abandoned copper mines just up the trail. These are the famed Adams-Westfeldt mines that Horace Kephart stayed.
Really enjoyable video, with some good film sequences! Good on you for getting out there in cold weather. I gotta ask, though: why were you using green wood and live hemlock branches " needles for your fire?!
Thanks Allan! And this is the pack m.orvis.com/product/safe-passage-hip-pack/14ZJ?item_code=14ZJ2100&adv=127748&cm_mmc=plas-_-FlyFishing-_-14ZJ-_-127748&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIq_vsofi-4QIVVVuGCh1bOgeHEAQYASABEgIozfD_BwE
this is why fly fishing is dumb, all that effort flicking and swinging around for a tiny puny little fish a mere mouthful i mean whats the point! dumb if you ask me
You see, people like you that don’t fly fish or haven’t done it just don’t understand. And that’s the beauty in it. Hope you give it a shot one day and can understand where we’re coming from.
How about those Ona Jams?

Thanks Kevin! We've got some fun things planned for this summer.
Great stuff again Scotty! Part 3 should be a great finish. All the Afco gear looks great and Sawyer is the best filtration system by far. Nice to see your work being recognized by sponsors.
Scott Higgins you cant beat the sawyer filters and the aftco rain jackets saved us in that rainstorm😂
Pretty country! Always wanted to make it out to the smokies. Come out to the Rockies and fish. You'd love love it! Keep up the inspiration y'all!
Dude we're trying to man!

Hey a little tip from my own ventures. Toilet paper always seems to get messed up for me and takes up a lot of space. I’d try taking baby wipes next time, it’s a real life saver lol
I second that Baby wipes solve a lot of sanitation concerns. In my back pack hiking, hunting or fishing. No stinky butt.
I’ve been looking forward to this coming out. Loved the first one. Can’t wait for the next one.
GC Fishing 👊🏻
Thanks for this video! Good job pushing through the elements!
As good as episode 1. Can't wait for the next episode!
Thanks for sharing guys, great vid. Ive had some great adventures out there myself chasing after the wilds and native brook trout. It pretty much rains every day at some point in the Smokies!

Adam W.N.C.Far Away Forge haha I know, definitely was not the best idea but a little sharpening and she’ll be back to normal
Yeah, that was so painful. I literally yelled at the screen "NOOOOO! What is he doing, why would you do that?!?!" 😫
Awesome video. Really hope to make it to Hazel Creek one day, but getting there is an odyssey in itself. Y’all ever fish Deep Creek near Bryson City? Opportunity for good fish but not nearly as remote as Hazel Creek.
we've been itching to hit deep creek over the years!

Mason Alexander really appreciate it Mason! Big things in the works ✊🏻
I know you guys were fishing but you probably didn't realize there are abandoned copper mines just up the trail. These are the famed Adams-Westfeldt mines that Horace Kephart stayed.
Oh, and Hazel Creek is usually cold enough to store something like a ham steak, hotdogs, smoked sausage...precooked stuff.
Really enjoyable video, with some good film sequences! Good on you for getting out there in cold weather.
I gotta ask, though: why were you using green wood and live hemlock branches " needles for your fire?!
Wow, awesome video! Could you please describe the type of fly rods and reels you guys are using in this trip?
Great video guys. What flys are y'all throwing?
Jon Fogt dry dropper mainly. Used a variety of nymphs but mainly tungsten euro style nymphs
Cool video series!
Really enjoyed it, New subscriber here.
Thanks a ton, happy to hear it!

Thanks Allan! And this is the pack m.orvis.com/product/safe-passage-hip-pack/14ZJ?item_code=14ZJ2100&adv=127748&cm_mmc=plas-_-FlyFishing-_-14ZJ-_-127748&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIq_vsofi-4QIVVVuGCh1bOgeHEAQYASABEgIozfD_BwE

Next time get a cart. Been fishing hazel creek for 30 years. Makes it better
What length rod were yall using?
we were using rods from a 7 1/2 foot 4 weight to a 9 foot 4 weight
this is why fly fishing is dumb, all that effort flicking and swinging around for a tiny puny little fish a mere mouthful i mean whats the point! dumb if you ask me
