It's only fitting that, in Ashley's absence, Travis once more gets to occasionally be a Barbarian. I love how every so often, he slips slightly into his Grog voice when he says "I would like to raaaage."
I'm sure he also feels somewhat like a proud father watching his daughter. Cuz one episode waaaay back in the day. Ashley was impressed by Travis's rage that she mentioned next character she made she wanted to be a barbarian
@@eryvac0074 also her character sheet says 5' 11 but they play her in cannon like 6' 2 because they repeat that she's taller than fjord and he's like 6 foot
I picture the Double-Natural-Twenties from the arm wrestling as both Yasha and Gunther sending literal vibrations of air rippling through the audience.
I love Matt so much, he takes just as much joy as his players do when they accomplish something. 9:26 is such a perfect example, he’s just laughing along with everyone having a good time.
Looking back, the amount of Racism/Prejudice Yasha would have to deal with in the Righteous Brand would be immeasurable. Glad she stayed with the Mighty Nien
I sincerely hope they all know just how lucky they are to have a DND group like this. Since groups like this are really hard to come by. Especially ones that have as much fun as these guys do.
My DM is a massive CR fan and used the same strength checks for arm wrestling at a festival in our game. I play an Stronk Lesbian Aasimar Paladin, and my DM gave me a custom magic item that allows me to Rage like a Barbarian would. (I think that was at minimum 30% so that he can make Yasha jokes at me lmao, but it also fits nicely with Oath of Vengeance) So I ended up arm wrestling with the Goliath Captain of the King's Guard. We went back, forth, back, forth, finally we were in the middle. Whole party is losing our minds. I rolled a Natural 20. The Goliath rolled a Natural 1. I snapped his arm and broke the table too, for good measure. Then, as a power move, I used Lay on Hands to heal his arm before walking away with my winnings.
The armwrestling contest is honest to god one of my favorite moments from this whole campaign. It was the first time everyone was really on the edge of their seats and just cheering and going crazy.
I've already liked this video before, but damn. How do I super ultra like? Yasha is the COOLEST. I think about this episode all the time even 5+ eps later
Yasha rolled something lower than 18, but she also added advantage/her strength to get her to 22. But Gunthar rolled a natural 18 (and after adding his advantagd/strength, it would have been above 22), so inevitably Gunthar got a higher number
+2 proficiency bonus. Her strength save at level 4 was +5 and her con was +4. www.dropbox.com/sh/57ddwnxuqld1c9h/AAC0mOoZYCj9s4vQIfjtJiixa?dl=0&preview=Yasha_L4.pdf
Unlikely. She's an aasimar which are similar to tieflings except while tieflings bear human and infernal ancestry, aasimar bear human and celestial ancestry
Unlikely, Yasha has Celestial/Divine blood, Grog has Giant blood. They were born in different continents. But most importantly Matt wants to keep the two Campaigns separate so...
Grog was a Goliath which are mountain born and often go around the world looking for fights. Yasha is a Assimar which is basically the fallen angel race. So while she has similrities that is mostly due to the class and not race and personality sorry to bash your hopes
Travis is Yasha's biggest fan lol. He misses the Rage.
I've played a Barb before and then replaced it with another character and I felt the same way!
@@Comicsluvr one of my players is a barb and is writing it off. He's trading it for a paladin. The group is not ready for the challenge.

Yo jacob i always wanted a hairstyle like that please tell me what you told your barber to get that!
I love how tiny bespectacled Ashley Johnson is playing giant rippling barbarian Yasha.
Who's somehow still gentle and soft-spoken and cute
Yasha is 5'11. That's around the same size as Ashley
@Eryvac *00 Ashley is 5'4". Matt is 5'11".

None of their battles have had louder cheers than this arm wrestling fight

Yep, same.
The table cracking beneath their elbows.
Me too, with a deep *THOOM*

This is what you're looking for :>
Zethras the Wordsmith I thought of that scene when I saw this
Who knew arm wrestling could be more intense in DnD than real life?
how can it not be when your DM is a god and the NPC is up against freaking YASHA
I felt my whole sweat across my face during this moment.
CRAZY!!
I *love* how supportive the lot of them are of Yasha's victory.
The fear in Matt’s voice when he’s like “H o W do You w Anna do thIs???”
Tbh that arm wrestling match was more intense than some of their fight scenes lmao
I love Matt so much, he takes just as much joy as his players do when they accomplish something. 9:26 is such a perfect example, he’s just laughing along with everyone having a good time.
That line is one of my favourites of this campaign tbh
2:13 - That was the cutest nat 20 scream I've ever seen
4:21 The look on Ashley's face when she does that is just AMAZING.
I adore Travis reactions to things.
they all love her so much. I cry.
Leave it to Matt Motherfuckin' Mercer to make a sodding ARM WRESTLING MATCH one of the most intense things in DnD.
This scene needs to be animated, I want to see Jester holding Nott's crossbow back in the background of this epic battle! XD
Yasha/Ashley slamming that man's hand down on the 2 count makes me question my homosexuality
and helped confirm mine
Considering the difference between her and the illustration, she *looks* a LOT like Yasha in that moment.
You where enthralled by the tall stronk amazon.
it happens. ;3
we stan one buff aasimar

She wanted to join the righteous brand?
@@petersenior5432 After the arm wrestle, the Emcee tried to tap her for it since she showed impressive strength

Yasha! Yasha! Yasha!... Seriously, she's the reason why I want to level a Fallen Aasimar.

Respect lol
lmao Ashley's like "really!?" when Yasha deals 41 damage in one strike and kills the monster
Get yourself a hype guy like Travis Willingham.
The title of Yasha being a badass. Something established from day one. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The armwrestling contest is honest to god one of my favorite moments from this whole campaign. It was the first time everyone was really on the edge of their seats and just cheering and going crazy.
OMG. Matt's giggle when the crew says/does something wild...or the dice go awry...so pure.
Yasha is best girl
The arm wrestle was tenser than most boss battles in this show
Yasha is the anti Fjord when it comes to carnival games
7:53 I call this the roller coaster.
I've already liked this video before, but damn. How do I super ultra like? Yasha is the COOLEST. I think about this episode all the time even 5+ eps later
“H-how dO You wANna dO thiS?” “No way!! Really? :D” “YeAH YOu FUCKin MURdERed IT!”
4:10 is it just me or the soldier recognized that Yasha is from Xhorhas?
Not her specifically but her stye i guess
Only in critical role can a non existant arm restle be so intense
Man Matt has some good monster noises
That arm wrestle was the most tense thing I've ever seen
This arm wrestling scene is one of my top moments from C2.
when your party’s getting more interested in an arm wrestle than combat:
I love dungeons and dragons
that arm wrestling scene was so fun oh my god 😭💀
I love Ashey so much
Top 10 Anime Battles
When I saw the title I was like obviously but which reasons are they gonna give us
God watching this gets me HYPED AS FUCK
Kord had better be taking notes.
Mr the dm takes very good care of his hair
1:29 that is a face of *INTENT*
I'll never forget that time yasha gave that one guy a Xhorhasian Neck Tie
I am so gay geez I- just Ashley and Yasha and just ugh- How will I survive the rest of this campaign.
Who’s here after episode 69, and now has a sad.
I just realized.... anyone ever seen the movie Warrior? Yasha is Tom Hardy's character.
The guy she went up against is Mad Dog? That's great!
Tom Hardy was Tommy Riordan
Yasha is a total badass
10:03 best heavy metal death growl
I find those glasses extremely attractive
"I don't like groups of people working together for a cause..." I Fucking Love Her. XD
that arm wrestle tho
Omg 😂😂😂 I've been cheering Yasha since the arm wrestle then at the near end video the crew does the same lol I died laughing
"YEAH YOU FUCKIN MURDERED IT!"
God I wish Ashley was there every week.... hashtag cancel Blindspot
she's filming the last season's episodes right now! after this hopefully no more absences from the show! can i get an amen?!
@@bezretmet The irony of using 'amen' in reference to a Fallen Aasimar. X3 You definitely get one from me. Amen!

3:20 arm wrestle
Did anybody else imagine tsunade and the third raikage arm wrestling contest when they both got a natural 20?
Is that an official t-shirt that Sam's wearing?
I miss herrrrrrrrrr!!! 🥺
What happened to her? I don't have time to watch full episodes...and i only found out about Critical Role a month or so ago (about Jan 2020).
Daniel De Vall did you catch up?
Wait...at 7:14 Yasha gets 22 and Gunther gets 18 and he beat Yasha? can someone explain please
it added up to 18
Yasha rolled something lower than 18, but she also added advantage/her strength to get her to 22. But Gunthar rolled a natural 18 (and after adding his advantagd/strength, it would have been above 22), so inevitably Gunthar got a higher number
"rolled an 18" = natural 18. That guy has a strength bonus of over 4.
Rolled an 18 but has a plus 5 so he rolled a 23
Will Erin Natural 18 without modifiers So was probably over 22 with modifiers
How tf Yasha getting a 24 strength check when her strength mod is +3
+2 proficiency bonus. Her strength save at level 4 was +5 and her con was +4.

Poor math skills.
I’m pretty new to D&D and the races but is it possible that Yasha is related to Grog?
Unlikely. She's an aasimar which are similar to tieflings except while tieflings bear human and infernal ancestry, aasimar bear human and celestial ancestry
GhostBlazerX Grogs race is goliath and Yasha is an aasimar so they are different races at least. So I dont think they are related.
GhostBlazerX unlikely. Yasha is a fallen Aasimar, Grog is a Goliath... if they are related, it’s extremely distantly.
Shame she's basically an NPC at this point.
Barokai Rein not since last episode..... did you see that epic storm scene?
If Matt said raw strength mod how did yasha get a 24 she has a +3 strength so even if she rolled a natural 20 it would be 23
Riley Nadeau I don’t know how the rules work, but she said that she was raging so I guess that that changes things :o
She's probably proficient in strength checks.
Maybe she confused her Strength Check mod and her Strength Saving Throw mod, which is +5 at that point and she probably rolled a 19
at level 4 she would have either a feat or an stat improvement so maybe the listed 17 is wrong is my guess
Brandon Edwards She took the Sentinel feat
No shit
