Lillibullero (Pro-Jacobite Version) Verse 1 Hey, Brother Teague, be of good cheer, Lillibullero, bullen-a-la, For James our king will soon be here, Lillibullero, bullen-a-la. Cromwell was a hero to the Founding Fathers. One of the first US warships was named after Cromwell. If you go to the Thomas Jefferson Museum at Monticello you can see Oliver Cromwell's death mask which Jefferson kept as mark of his admiration for Cromwell
The song was so popular that James' own guards outside his bedroom whistled it, one of the many reasons he knew he had no chance if he stayed and fought.
This sounds like it was a soundtrack in a Hollywood movie made before the 1960s.
