I think Woodkid is a very interesting artist, so I would definitely recommend checking out some more of his stuff.
Woodkid is a solo artist btw, not a band. He is the singer and also co-wrote and co-produced the track and directed the music video himself.
as a french fan I can complete with the fact Woodkid love to creat his own sounds, mettalic sound who record by himself on different object or structure.
The live version (Montreux 2016) of this song is insane !

I just got done watching it for like the 10th time. Probably the best live performance of any one song I've ever seen. If everyone showed up JUST for that, I feel they would have gotten their money's worth.

When Woodkid was on their first EU tour they came to London to play a small(ish) venue with a few hundred people, it was sold out. I don't think the album had even been released yet.
This was the last song of the night and when it ended the audience cheered for about five minutes, then everyone started singing the melody. The band came back out, Yoann was crying, they started playing again and did another few minutes of the song, then they got another five minutes of wild cheering.
It's hard to describe unless you've seen them, but for percussion fans especially it's an amazing show.
They have so many bangers. Goliath, Iron and Reactor are all great. Goliath is probably my favorite video of theirs.
Oh yes Golden Age is a conceptual album of Woodkid with music videos connected into some kind of overall plot
So glad to see you exploring Woodkid! He really got his break-out exposure to the masses with his song "Iron" when it was used on a trailer for the Assassins' Creed game franchise. Wonderful catalog of music, and he's a brilliant composer. His music is inherently cinematic from the way he composes it. You should dig more into it and him. He has some great live orchestral performances on youtube as well. This particular song is off "The Golden Age," which is worth a full listen through from start to finish for full effect.
LOVE Woodkid!! He's a French musician so a lot of his interesting tone probably comes from an accent. He does a lot of the composition for his songs as well, maybe all of it but don't quote me.
Definitely check him out! He's been working with Kojima a lot recently, but he's been making music forEVER. Love his stuff, very glad you did a reaction!

Woodkid remains the best concert I've ever gone to, it was in Toronto. Nothing flashy, but took the boiler room-ish sized area and maximized it
Fun fact Woodkid was almost selected for his song Iron to be the song for Assassin's Creed Revelations. There is even a fan made video that puts it in and it fits sooooooooo well!

Found iron and digged deeper the same day I found patrick watson beijing... Woodkid or yoann lemoine also produced videos for other stars like lana del rey.. And recently worked with Hideo Kojima

So glad you’re checking out a lot of music from my personal favs, Woodkid is an alias(?)/stagename for Yoann Lemoine, a French music😅video director/graphic-designer/musician. His stuff is top-notch and Run Boy Run was from his Golden Age album. My sister and I became aware of him from his EP album with Iron and etc, for me it was when Iron was used for AC Revelations trailer. His videos are top-notch too. I love “I Love You” song and music video. ❤
Yoan Lemoine, aka Woodkid, does everything here: he composed the music, wrote the lyrics, he sings, but also as a graphic designer and video director he generated or recorded the visuals in this music video.
In fact, he started as a video assistant to Sofia Coppola then became video director and created music videos for Katy Perry, Lana del Rey, Harry Styles, Rihanna, Drake, Taylor Swift, … then as a creative director for Pharell Williams (Remember "Happy" ?) or for shows and ad campaign for some of the most famous luxury brands ww (Dior, Louis Vuitton, …)
As a musician, he alternates being his own records - many of these became recurrent in video games soundtracks - , his recording as a singer of some other compositions (check Guns for Hire in the Arcane series), a role as Music Director for some of the greats ( last album from french megastar Mylene Farmer, Pharell Williams’ Coachella show, …).
His special "Woodkid and friends" event at Montreux Jazz Festival in 2016 is remembered as one of the most stunning and beautiful evening ever held in this legendary jazz sanctuary.
This song gives me boosebumps to this day.
For reference: The album this comes from (The Golden age) is a single story (the biography of "woodkid" and is absolutely worth looking into in order. Run Boy, Run is early, but Iron is basically the climax of the story. Woodkid put the the entire album up for listening and I recommend listening to it in order! The album as a whole is fantastic.
For some reason this song inspires an image in my head that I feel would be an awesome movie scene. I keep seeing Superman flying fast to stop missiles or a big attack. The slow part just before the finale would go slow motion as Supes floats in the sun for a moment's recharge and then finishes saving the day. I can't stop those mind images when I hear this song. Another cool thing with this artist, this album has 3 or so videos from it. If you watch them in release order, the final image of the video is the first image in the next video.

You did the king Titan music from ark survival evolved but there are many more themes in the game. I recommend the main themes of the base game and dlcs. They’re amazing and all have their own styles while building on the original theme. Also I noticed you like watching boss battles and Ark is very well known for having some of the most insane battles and end scenes called ascension’s

I listen to almost all of his songs and musically, they're very intriguing and watching the videos with the songs enhance it even further. His concerts are also really good. I think Euclidean Pulses will tickle your fancy.

The first album was kind of a concept album but it was more of a "heroic" theme running through it, overcoming challenges and daring to be different. It's all extremely dramatic and powerful stuff.
I would recommend listening to his song Brooklyn for a totally different vibe.
