Hips and Butt padding ( beginner friendly)

Thank you for the tutorial🙏🏾. Are you saying one will cut the normal skirt measurements with allowance on the main fabric and no allowance on the lining that will have the hip padding on it? Also do you stitch the main fabric with the actual measurements of the client or you add 1” only at the hip part while joining the main fabric. Thank you

Yes please, the fabric hip measurement will be bigger than the person's regular hip measurement with about 2", it can be more if you use a thicker padding like one inch foam. The lining hip remains the same as the person's regular hip 😍

You will get it wherever tailoring materials are sold, in the market or street store. It is popularly known as bra foam where I stay.

I haven't tried it on crepe, only ankara and lace fabric (with interlining). You can test it with a small piece of crepe and a small piece of bra foam if you have a miniature form to see the outcome.

It should be suitable for almost everyone. To be precise, you can measure from waist to knee and remove 4 inches from the value gotten. If the waist to knee is 21 inches, you will be using 17 inches.

If the client actually hip is 38” and i will be padding it, i have to cut 42” on the actual fabric and still add the normal 2” allowance we add on a normal basis? If am cutting the lining do i use hip 42” which is the new hip on the main fabric or 38” plus the actual 2” allowance we do add. Thank you

The new hip is for the fabric, the lining remains 38 in this instance.
