      Mustafa avoid foods that are haram because he's Muslim and prefers simple, local, not very processed, few-ingredient foods prepared in some way that involves fire and doesn't require large or complicated cooking implements, due to the limitations of his home environment. He'll try stuff that is not local, but he likes to know what the ingredients are and is less distrustful of those with simple fruits, vegetables, and grains. It's a pretty basic approach. You have meat? Eat it grilled or roasted, not ground up, shredded, or mixed with a lot of other things. Fruit? Eat it as is or make a simple compote. And so on.

    • @Kristers_K
      @Kristers_K 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@lrfcowper All of which is very nonsensical. But then again he is very biased towards his own limited way of life, the way he was raised and at that age and mindset i don't expect a lifestyle change or improvements...which is fine really.
      These people cannot even name nutrients, let alone being scientific and know what is healthy or ethical...so i always let it pass and they can believe what they want. But most of the world is changing in that regard, people are becoming more educated.

    • @lrfcowper
      @lrfcowper 3 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      @@Kristers_K I don't know about non-sensical. It's a preference. He likes his food recognizable and simple. He prefers a natural ingredient over a chemical compound he can't pronounce. He likes local food prepared by hand over foods made in a factory. He's not that different from a lot of people.
      People make him out to be this sort of mystical wise man on one hand or ignorant simpleton on the other, but he's just an old man with a long-established diet preference and a lifetime of experience with Western interference in his culture and Western corporations dumping cheap junk in the markets.
      So I get his thinking and I understand his preferences. I also think some of the concepts he's trying to convey aren't easily translated into English so when he talks about mixed food or healthy foods or "giving energy to the stomach" we may not really be getting the best idea of what he's saying.

      @@Kristers_K Burgers don't cause neither heart desease or animal suffering, if you think that is how it works your IQ must be below the ground, heart desease is mostly caused by inactivty plus over eathing specially sugary foods and oil(vegetable oils), the worst part of a burger is the bun, oil the meat is cooked on and ketchup(sugar), animals used for meat don't really suffer, they are killed fast and most of their lives are fed and taken care of, just because you have some videos that are used to death (the same ones over and over) doesn't mean it always happens, usually terrible arguments sustents themselves on isolated rare cases instead of the mayority, these animals basically evolved with humanity and this is the way they exist, we cannot just stop eating meat, that would cause a disaster for farm animals, since we cannot just get rid of them, we would have to kill them in mass to get rid of them since freeing them on the wild would destroy the enviroment, which basically defeats the propuse.
      You just repeat what you are told like a parrot, life and reality are not a pink sparkled utopia, you may not have the brain power to understand it but what cattle dog and cats have is a simbiosis with us, if any of them is not needed anymore their lives end, since they don't have a sace on nature anymore, people like you are basically neo-fanatics just a different religion and you adore a bunch of coward losers with "no face".

    We eat beyond beef all the time. We use the ground beyond beef for cooking mostly. It’s not beef and it doesn’t really replace meat flavor. It kind of it’s own thing like Sofritas at Chipotle. Sofritas is chopped tofu, garlic and tomato 🍅. There are a lot of good protein substitutes that are fine if you just see it as it’s own thing and don’t go looking for an authentic beef flavor.

    Why would you tell them tofu is curdled milk, it's not.

    • @Kristers_K

      I know they simply mistook it for dairy milk. You can literally make tofu at home by curddling soy milk with an acidic base, like a lemon juice.
