We live in NW Alberta. We just put our MH to bed for the season. One thing we have done is replace the reg RV tires with all weather tires.
We experience snow early and late into the season. Nothing is worse than Slip sliding away.
They are also really good durning really heavy rains.

I always love your videos thanks so much. Darn those Airskirts cost a lot lol but true . I will be headed to the Mid South this winter. I'm thinking of around south Arizona my self. I would love to go to Florida but I can only guess everyone will be as well , and the cost of over night stays would be around or over $80.00 per night . I do have a TT membership but thinking would only find retail with % off each night stay if available . Maybe one day we will catch up with you guys on the road.

I can see putting in a boat woodstove in your RV so you can use as a back up, in heating your RV along wh a diesel heater as a back up with the oem heater in your RV.
I have a Mr. Buddy and Big Buddy heater as a backup heater.
I was just on a fall trip to the Oregon coast and since I was plugged in I just used a little 400 watt space heater that hangs from an outlet near the bed. The camper has a propane heater and I have a plug in hot water bottle and a battery powered blanket, but the temperature was not below 55 and the new little heater kept the bed area around 68.
Last winter we did have an extended freeze for a week and even though I drained the water, the little strainer before the water pump retained enough water to split and when I filled the water tank in spring nearly all 40 gallons dribbled back out. The water tank is under the bed with way to many screws and was packed with insulation, but the little plastic strainer was the weak link. They don’t cost much so it was an easy fix.

Great tips, we also prefer to go south but have had our share of cold weather RVing, including subzero temps. If campgrounds are open in cold weather states in winter, check what amenities are available. We’ve gotten sites but water is off and bathroom buildings closed so we had to make sure we were prepared.
Do the air skirts lose air like tires do during cold weather that you would have to continually pump them up?
We cold weather camped last season due to work. I researched different insulation techniques. From the research I did, the air skirts do lose air and you do have to pump them up often. Now, that would also be dependent on where you are at as to how bothersome that would be. In South Dakota or somewhere like that, from the research I did and the people I talked to, air skirts would not be beneficial at all. You would be better off investing in sheet insulation. However in Mississippi or Louisiana, air skirts might work.

When we winterize our rv my husband doesn’t use rv plumbing stuff. He blows out the lines with an air compressor. We don’t like the taste of plumbing stuff in the lines. We have never had a problem with using an air compressor.

Mistake #8 is forgetting a hot water heater makes steam and a water heater makes hot water. Almost as bad as forgetting TP needs to be installed over the top.🤣
One of my pet peaves... who heats HOT water?!
