That cliche has been done a few times before (it might get worn out if used again), and I’m with you when you say you wouldn’t want that to happen, and B. Luz loves/is aware of romance and shipping more than Phineas ever did. From what I remember, the only romance-related thing Phineas did was the cruise ship he made for Baljeet and Mishti. Phineas’s intelligence/obsession for technology made the obvious fact that Isabella liked him flow right past his triangle head. Luz is smarter than him in terms of love (and one could also argue in terms of common sense since Phineas likes to make things overly complex). I like that theory, but I agree with you in hoping that doesn’t occur. Just my opinion. I’m guessing Luz and Amity should start dating probably in the first half of Season 2, which likely won’t come out until May or June (sadly) - unless they decide to release it in January like when Comic-Con showed the sneak peak on episode 1.

It has been confirmed by the creators that Luz is Bisexual (or should I say Blight-sexual) and what she wore to Grom is good symbolism for it (tux for guys & tutu dress for girls). I like that little detail they put in to this episode.

Hawkmoth would probably end up in the coffin room anyway during their final fight, Adrian would probably act the same way, and hawkmoth would see his opportunity, the world ends, all the same. Plus, it shows that the writing team is unwilling to have them together or know each other's identities. They even say multiple times that they would have to give up there miraculous if they know... which was never a thing before. In fact, with Marinet as the master of the box, she should know his identity if something happens to him. I hate a "will they won't they" plot being drawn out. Kim possible made this idea wok perfectly, and that let the show explore more with the characters than ever before. But I honestly don't think Thomas Astruc would them get together before the end. He says there would be no story if they got together, and what he said about Chloe after the final paints him to be really set in his way of thinking.

Honestly, this is one of the best ships I have seen in a while. It just seems like their personalities work together perfectly. Honestly, I am living for this ship right now. It seems like it is better than pretty much any star vs ship imo and that's saying a lot. I just hope they don't ruin the story with ships like they did with star vs.
But before they date, I hope the show delivers it naturally- like it doesn't "just happen" but you actually progresses nicely. Unlike what happened with Star vs. where the ships actually sort of derailed the show cause they weren't delivered well nor did they seem to be thought out well.

I definitely agree that this is the episode that well and truly “hooked” me into the show after already enjoying it. Shipping aside, I just really like the story structure for Luz and Amity’s parallel character arcs.
Two things: one, if you look closely at the letters, the font differs from each one So it’s either multiple people or that one person trying to figure out Luz’s handwriting. At first it seems kind of odd that they'd have a student fight the monster if it's so dangerous, but when you think about it, it actually makes sense. Sure, there are the life lessons of standing up to your fears and whatnot, but also, the monster takes the form of your worst fears, and children's fears are things like their mother being disappointed with them, or being rejected, or clowns. Just imagine what somebody like Eda or Principal Bump would be afraid of.

I think I saw something where it was basically said that the that's what friends do line was put in there just so they could get away with how gay everything else was because let's not forget, Disney would still rather not give lgbt rep and these creators still have to fight tooth and nail to not get any and all non-hetero stuff cut from the episodes.

yeah the dance was even better than I imagined. I imagined them just having a private sentimental slow dance in the hallways, but the dance fight scene was more fire

I mean, yeah, but also, Lumity is highly likely to become canon so not taking it seriously isn't really an option if that makes sense. I respect that you don't ship it whether you have reasons or not but if shipping shouldn't be taken seriously, then it'd be taken as something fun and not serious which would be, in _my_ opinion, disrespectful when Lumity becomes canon (as of Wing it Like Witches, it technically is confirmed on Amity's side).

I think I saw something where it was basically said that the that's what friends do line was put in there just so they could get away with how gay everything else was because let's not forget, Disney would still rather not give lgbt rep and these creators still have to fight tooth and nail to not get any and all non-hetero stuff cut from the episodes.
