Listening to this history, it means everything we know as Akan tradition started with the Akwamu’s and formed strong alliance with the Ashanti’s Wow! The Akwamu’s must rise and take their rightful place in history. We must be proud and commend the Asante’s for protecting the Akan history. They have done very well.

Don't confuse Asanteman with Ashanti Region. Totally different entities. First one is a Kingdom and second is a political administrative boundary. The Creator elected Asantes to be the later custodians of everything Akan. Western imperialists would have eroded nearly all Akan customs

If you listen to Lawyer Anokye Primpong, nothing originated from the Ashantis. They learnt everything from one tribe or the other. How did they become such a great kingdom. Lawyer, please don't lose credibility by coloring history with your personal prejudices. The known history of the Gold Coast was the history of the Ashanti conquests. Can anybody outside Ghana give you the names of three tribes beside the Asantes?

  • @philtymcnasty9994

@8:00 the name Asante was ascribed by the Denkyira. Just like Asante people call Accra people Nkran. The Ga never called themselves Ɛnkranfuo. Denkyira started the name calling Ɛsantifuo to describe the united front of their former subordinates.

lol, they dont leave receipts or sources, they make it up as they go...thinking we still live in the dark ages where fictitious history were made for the gullible ones to believe. the golden stool is from techiman, the reason why they are fighting hard to claim towns within the techiman enclave to wash their black stools. Deep down they know this be hypocrisy wont allow them to tell the truth, most of the history in asante is made up, they will tell u obiri yeboah got sick n died, they nobody k!lled him like the sad reality by the dormaas. they only talk about who they defeated, if you needed Akwamu's army, that should easily tell u how strong their siblings from dormaa were back then, dormaahene is tough like nail and Akwamu's are quiet - when Akwamu starts to talk to back the history of their twin in dromaa, asante history will be a wash since its all made up. Komfo anokye and osei tutu needed akwamu soldier to learn how to f!ght and to defeat denkyira. Denkyira, Dormaa/Akwamu and Techiman are originators akan.
