Is there an English version of the app or is there English language to choose? Obviously as a foreigner, it's impossible to read Chinese.

It does not. A helpful trick is to take a screenshot within the food app and use the image-scan translator in WeChat to read what your food options are.
There is also a different food ordering app called Sherpa's. However, it's a little more expensive, it has less restaurant options, and it does not operate into the late hours.
