Oh yeah Tim! It is helping a lot, thanks again! :)
pretty hard to row a boat on ice Jimmy
Haha that is the truth! Stay warm!
Another day in the shop with Jimmy. Now that’s getting into your work Dodge ram.
Just a couple more hours on this one. ;)
Thanks for the video Jimmy. Hope you have a great weekend. Hope you are warmer this week!
You too! Might even break out the shorts this week if it keeps warming up. Haha
Good Morning Jimmy. No aftermarket stuff unless there is no other solution. My 95' and 2002 still have tons of Factory parts. Nothing really gets replaced until it fails. I did replace some stuff on top of the gas tank in the Camaro just because it was such a pain to do. I was putting in a new fuel pump and vent valve, so I did replace the fuel pressure sensor. The Vapor canister was in good shape.
I’m all about OEM as long as it’s readily available. That is also what I prefer. But the front desk puts price and time in front of using OEM by default.
Morning , it’s a warm here.. 25F tonight -6F feeling like -22F Not terrible , have had way colder winters.. -38F . My hands and feet get cold on a good day. “ Raynauds “ winter sucks !
Man that is to cold for
Me, I’m a weather softie now.

Lot of times new management kills a business. Hope not, but it's not unusual. 😢
I've seen it more than once.
We'll get through this! 💪I hope.
Thanks for the video Jimmy!
Very welcome my friend!
wow any way you look at it that sucks in a truck much easier in a jeep jk !!!! keep up the great work and keep rowing !!!!!!!!!!!!
It is, but I don’t mind putting in the work! As long as there aren’t a couple back to back. ;)
Hi Jimmy, Have a great friday
I am, got some work to do Eddie! 😉
Glad you ended the week on a high note!
Yeah, we’re making progress! Gotta keep Rowing!
Going to need some pain meds and a soak in a hot tub for your back after working on that truck!!!
No doubt, it was painful to watch.

@@JimmyMakingitwork 😄😄😄😄😄😄😄
Excellent video as always, thanks Jimmy.
Very welcome 🤗
Second🎉, again!
So close!
I'm in NE Wyoming and a mail carrier. We didn't see above freezing for the past 3 weeks. Finally got temps at 38 and I broke out a sweatshirt. Working outside in those temps is a challenge to say the least.
Oh man! That’s a tough one. Try and stay warm up there!
Have a great weekend.
Thanks, you too Lloyd!
Nice work "inside" the RAM
It's the only way to get it done! Way inside! Haha
I have done this job numerous times but have always used the Mopar part. It isn't a high tech or electronic part, but considering the labor involved, I didn't want any problems. I considered the all aluminum part like the one you used. I opted not to use it because if there was a problem down the road, I could honestly say to my customer that I used genuine , not aftermarket parts. Put the blame where it belongs: bad design by Chrysler.
It’s definitely a gamble with aftermarket parts sometimes. But was have had great results with these. Keep rowing!
Those Stellantis oil coolers are much easier to replace in the transverse configuration. Easier oil cleanup too. Have had issues with cheap aftermarket plastic replacements but those metal Dorman units always work out well.
I agree, it’s definitely a much better design!
P06DD code was there because of the low oil level
Correct.
QUESTION:
Orings fitted in to grooves can be frustrating.
My recent experience was with a waterpump on my '17 Forester. 197000 mi.
Shaft seal started to leak.
Picked up a new one( IMPORT Direct Parts).
The O-ring fits in a groove with tabs designed to hold it in the groove.
But they were imperfect.
Tabs weren't holding.
I used some Permatex 3, non- hardening sealant to hold it in place.
What do you use, Jimmy, (when needed) to hold such in place?
I usually use a little bit of Vaseline , but I have had to resort to a sealant before. Sometimes I’ll set it down on a work bench to see if it will settle into place. Always a dance.
You made your 40 hours with the 2017 Ram, but my back is killing me.
Hahaha, I wish!
Is a cold down there brother? Our spot in Orange Beach Al. Got 10.5 inches ⛄️🌴🏄♂️
Woah! We just warmed up this week, high 70’s now.
Its easier to replace it when you have everything apart than paying to take it apart in future.
Agreed!
I never was fond of Chrysler products.
Yeah, I liked them until 1974 or so. They had a good run for a bit around 2000-2005 or so?
Jimmy, I thought you were kidding when you said you would take the electric fan out and stand in there now that’s thinking outside the box that’s definitely a seasoned mechanic. I hope you get out of your slump. It’s been about 30 days since you smiled. Keep on rowing.
Yeah, I’m just trying to make the best of it. 🤣 It’ll turn around I hope. Keep
Rowing!
In book how many hours is that job
I believe it was 3 hrs. Plus oil
Change.
Another Great day in the shop! Have a great weekend.
Thanks, you too Scott!
Hello, Just my opinion but you seem to be talking a lot about the lack of hours you are flagging.
I watch your videos and in my opinion you are a Lead Tech and deserve the compensation of one.
As you know the automotive field is not forgiving on your body . so in my opinion you should earn as much as you can while you still can (:
I agree! I think the biggest issue right now is 5 mechanics in a shop designed for four. I suspect it will be back To 4 soon.
Nice video😊
Glad you liked it!
🪛🔧🔩 glade to see he fixed the dodge instead of his glaucoma this month!👍 priorities people
😎
Hahaha
For some reason I like that orange oil filter canister. It looks like an improvement, which it probably isnt, but for some reason, maybe because of the color, it looks like an upgraded part. Lol
Yeah they want a newer filter used so made it a bright as possible so it would be noticed that it’s different. :)
