    the doctor is known for yes making his friends better people but at the same time he does have a negative effect on them
    like it or not what Davros said in journey's end did have some weight and truth to his words. "you take ordinary people and you fashion them into weapons" while this coming from davros translated into a more objective truth is more like he takes normal people and turns them into heros. Jo on the other hand did everything herself she left the Doctor and grew on her own.
    The doctor didn't change her fundamentally he simply was a stepping stone for her as a person.

    It's nice to know the doctor popped in on all his companions before to see how they were all doing:
    How Susan is helping to rebuild earth after the dalek invasion and how Ian and Barbara are doing in their (not so) old age.
    Checking in with Jamie and Zoe,as whilst they don't remember him,he'll never forget them.
    Seeing Jo out adventuring with her husband and family,as while it was sad for him when she left,he's happy knowing that what she left unit for was well worth it.
    Seeing Tegan and Nyssa reunited and happy together,finally able to marry after decades being together.
    How ace has gone from the grungy,fiesty teen he traveled with to a leading player in global humanitarian relief.
    Visiting memorials to those who lost their lives traveling with him,one for adric on paleogene earth and one for Katarina on kembel.
    Visiting all those who travelled with him not just on the small screen,but in comics and audio plays,erimem, Evelyn,flip,hex, Charley and Fitz to name a few.

For many this was their doctor. Can we get this level of writing back please. Our friend not our nagging lecturer. Jodie is great. The writing is awful. Being emotional is not weakness and it just seems like they want to show a strong man nagging in a female body. Instead of taking advantage of what makes a woman shine.

    • @gregory7883
      @gregory7883 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, if you do a little research, there's a theory about the doctor and his regenerations. In this theory it is assumed that the doctor indirectly controls his regenerations in what he wants to be, I can't explain in detail, however it leads to think that the 11th doctor (Matt Smith) has a different handwriting from before because his character is just a step forward in the way of thinking of the old doctors, and that's what makes this scene so beautiful, the 11th doctor deliberately adopted the way of the 3rd one as a memory of another him, as if deep down it doesn't matter which doctor it is, they are all one and the same person even if they have different characters, that's why for me nothing has been wasted.

    • @yospidey0078
      @yospidey0078 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Agreed. I found Matt Smith's Doctor hard to get into. There were good moments, but they were small, and Moffat tried too hard. In this clip he is a lot more restrained akin to a classic Doctor. I felt Moffat became more restrained when Capaldi was cast and didn't try doing too much unnecessary stupid stuff like he would do with Matt Smith probably due to Capaldi's age.

    "I only left you because I got married." Ehhhh, maybe go back and give The Green Death another watch to refresh the old memory. Jo was taking a leave of absence (from both UNIT and the Doctor) to go and chill with the hippie scientists before she even met her mushroom man. Then she agreed to go with him to the Amazon _before_ he proposed... or even broached the topic of being in a monogamous relationship with her. But she was already leaving the Doctor before marriage was a factor.
    Her character never seemed very keen on travelling in the Tardis anyway, always in a hurry to get back home. She was there to play assistant to the Quatermass Doctor, who never went very far from home base. But the Quatermass Doctor was a temporary state of affairs. It wasn't really him. I'd like to hear him point that out. Feels like there's a much more interesting and in-depth conversation these two characters could have... if they weren't limited to 3 minutes in the middle of an episode of a kids' show that actually stars neither of them.

      Tegan was the same, was never really interested in any of the alien plants they visited, or the historical stuff on earth.. she seems to just wanted to stay in the TARDIS, even worse in her first season when she was willing to let the others die so she could go home. Thank god for Nyssa and Ace the only companions during the 80s that did anything important and wanted to travel. Even Peri was only ever interested on going on 'holiday ' and never stopped complaining (no wonder 6th got irritable with her) And Mel was gone before she started... which was good as she had the most annoying voice. lol

Unlike most of the others. She was Traveling with Tegan who spent most of the yelling at the doc to take her home, even when other peoples lives were at risk she didn't give a toss, she was probably one of the most selfish companions, Peri wasn't much different either. Nyssa however was fantastic, she even stayed behind to help save a bunch of strangers instead of just running off or returning home.
