This was a complete guide, thank you for sharing. I found many essential winter and ski clothing at Pick Up , a secondhand shop , they sell good quality stuff and really low prices😊
This videos reminds me to get a pair of snow spike for trip to Zao Mountain next year. I remember walking on a snow at Gala Yuzawa this year, it was slippery. For day trip, a foldable backpack (Muji, Decathlon, North Face, Mobi Garden) would come in handy to carry things and save space for the luggage.
@@KenshoQuest definitely. been visiting japan in winter for the past 2 editions. love the winter holidays since im from hot & humid singapore. escaping the heat to the cold. flying into japan in about 2 months time. see u, Japan. thanks for this super helpful video. so informative for those who are less familiar with winter weather and wear. Arigatou. 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you for a wonderful winter video packing tips for Japan trip. Very detailed, clear and understandable information. May I ask for advice for which winter’s month to visit Hokkaido and Tokyo, to watch the 1st snow ❄️ fall and sunny day. Thank you again for a great and enjoy video.
Hi. For early snow fall, December would be good. Tokyo doesn't get a lot of snow days, so it would be hard to try to time it right to see snow in Tokyo. For Sapporo in Hokkaido, there have already been some snow days in November, but then it warms up and the snow melts. December would give you a better chance at actually seeing snow. ❄️ Heidi
@@themutekiununbi4932 Sapporo tends to be cloudy and overcast throughout the winter. I think getting a sunny day would just be luck. We did have some nice blue sky days when we visited in December.
hi! thank you for all the information! me and my girlfriend will travel to japan from the 14th of feb to the 9th of march. we would love to ski in japan and we thought of hokkaido as the best option, could you help us a bit? i think we have to arrive in the new chitose airport and from there we are kind of lost. what would it be the cheapest place to ski in? where to stay? we would only ski for 2 days because we want to live the experience of it since we are from argentina! hope to hear from you! best regards!
Because I filmed the clip in Malaysia. Didn’t want to make the video longer than necessary with a long-winded explanation. There are tons of UNIQLO stores in Japan, and also many stores in other countries.
Thanks so much for all the useful tips and information! How to get virtual Suica card for kids (10 and 11 years old)? Apple Wallet Suica is for Adult. Is there a big difference in the rate between adult and child if we only travel short distances within the city of Tokyo? Thanks.
Hi, glad the video is helpful! Unfortunately, there are no virtual IC cards for kids. This is because it requires a verification process. So if you want to save on your kids transportation it will require a physical child Suica which you can purchase at many JR stations such as Tokyo or Ueno Station. The rate, for child tickets are half, even for short distances. So I think you need to weigh whether or not it is worth the time waiting in line at the JR office, which can sometimes be an hour or even more... Here's our video on how to get a registered Child Suica card: th-cam.com/video/BbvQurJdOnc/w-d-xo.html
Nice, i went to osaka and tokyo last February it was raining a lot!, and lots of wind especially in tokyo which makes the sensation even cooler, im comming back this February and already looking to get a warm jacket from Uniqlo 🙏🏻
Is it fine to wear hiking boots when exploring the big cities plus the lakes in the Mt. Fuji area in mid to late December? Are walking shoes good enough? I have both walking shoes and hiking boots, and I'm considering bringing them both, but they’re going to take up some luggage space. Thank you so much for these helpful tips. Your family is an inspiration. 🥰
Hi. I think walking shoes would be more comfortable for exploring the cities. The Mt. Fuji area could get below freezing and snow in December. You might want the hiking boots for that part, unless you have any lighter weight warm shoes that you could wear. ❄️ Heidi
In Tokyo you could check UNIQLO or Muji. There are many locations. In Sapporo you could visit the Sapporo Factory shopping mall or Mitsui Outlet Park. ❄️ Heidi
Yes. If you are shipping to a hotel, you can write the hotel's phone number on the form. When we ship to an Airbnb or Yamato Transport office we provide our Japanese phone number. We get an eSIM with temporary Japanese phone number through Mobal th-cam.com/video/aQU42wIbDtU/w-d-xo.html

You are talking about buying winter clothes in Japan. Noted a jacket on hanger is priced in Ringgit Malaysia (RM). How come?

I highly recommend Uniqlo, they have excellent parkas for nice prices! I was just there last night.
