    OVERFIELD TAVERN was built in 1808 and is believed to be the first house constructed in the newly formed town of Troy, Ohio.
    Served as a frontier Tavern, Inn, Courthouse, and just a gathering place. The court was held upstairs from 1808-1811 when a courthouse was built.
    The local Masonic Lodge was here at the tavern also and one of the 1st in Ohio.
    Museum showcases late 18th century and early 19th century artifacts.
    OPEN SATURDAY AND SUNDAY 1 PM to 4 PM and WEDNESDAY 9 AM to Noon. APRIL THROUGH OCTOBER ONLY.
    Admission...... $2.00

    The Tavern houses a museum of early Ohio artifacts. It is a neat, small tour worth a look.

      @@thelostsoulwanderer my coal supplier is an amateur archeologist. He found the William Barbee house footings and excavated the surroundings. He then donated the artifacts to Overfield and they sit in the centerpiece of the displays. Super interesting stuff.
