Used to play PaleoFrogs during TOSS format, can't believe I completely overlooked Marella sending Rollback. Seems like a hell of a way to use it, honestly. I loved Marella (especially in Paleo Volcanics), but it always seemed to have a tough time getting immediate value in most builds. Rollback kinda turns it into "Labrynth Barrage, if it was actually good", which is really cool.
the thing is in a world where we are not just spamming negates setting traps is really really good. effectively are you either going first or you go first with 6 cards in hand. non negate cards are simply not made to deal with traps as they all assume that every deck in the game is 105% monsters anyways so all they do is interacting with monsters
@@babrad well thats the point outside of ip there really isn't any interaction with the opponent setting cards. if konami now would actually print trap cards people would stop thinking traps are unplayable. for every daruma darma cannon we get 10+ monster spam archetypes designed to be meta.

Rollback does have some toxic interactions but it can also create very interesting deck concepts. For example Trap BA. Traps either need a hand activation (imperm), a gy effect t get more use (black goat), or a very powerful almost turn ending effect (daruma). If they don't have something like that, they are immediately unplayable. About IP, this is true for meta decks. For example Unchained could just pop 2-3 cards at the end of main. Lab/Tear can do the same. This is why I liked the AgOv format so much. Apart from Mannadium/Infernoble and Tear to an extend, all interactions were in the form of removal allowing very back and forth games with Ty-phon being one of the most well designed cards ever that now became obsolete thanks to Promethean.
All fun and games until you get puppet locked and can’t summon the paleos lmao with branded lost you also cannot respond so yeah it do be what it do be
Setting 4 to 5 cards is harder than most people think (assuming they are not floodgates). You need to have a good understanding of the opponent's deck in order to disrupt their plays at the right time with the limited actions your deck has... Also these games tend to last a lot more than 2 turns, and not many have the patience for that.
I remember playing 40 card paleo in the most recent Legend Anthology event, cause literally every other deck I had, had some important cards banned, even Charmers. Never played it before and it was actually pretty fun to learn. I played it with some of the trap monsters like Stungray, Azurune, Anguish Pattern and Tiki Soul, mostly intended for jumpscare xyz plays, but turned out to usually be better just on the field lol
@@zzpark1 Fairy Tail - Luna, Fairy Tail - Rochka and Fairy Tail Tales help Charmers a lot, so if you can get a hold of those cards, I'd throw as many copies of each as the banlist allows into the deck.
Paleos was the last thing I played on paper before selling my collection (fuck Sprights for getting Ronin banned), it is very fun. I also loved seeing people trying to Ash an Opabinia ❤️ if Rollback wasn't so expensive I would try to put something like this together again.
Transaction Rollback is great for crazy Trap mill shenanigans. Maxx "C" is fine in Paleos because of the whole "Rank 2" thing if you hit one with Reasoning, but I otherwise wouldn't in Grass decks because more draws mean less mills.

I couldnt even make a comeback I drew 3 droll & lockbird off the top.
Bruh, I just went up against them, and it was weird, to say the least. Same match up, too: Paleo vs. Traptrix. The match-up is cursed af because you're I.mune to trap effects, and if you're running the monster that protects your traps, you can stop a lot of their disruptions. The problem is that they are also immune to like all of your traps since they target monsters. At least you can stop their plays if they try summoning from the extra. The match-up is cursed AF, but it's fun (I won after he timed out). What traps were you running? You should have been able to stop them when they tried summoning.

The fact he opened better hands with this deck than his earthbound immortal after he played with this tells me that konami probably wants us to play pre-2017 decks

it sounds dumb, but i play a lot of the paleos in my melffy deck. oleinoids is a nice MST, canadia is a book of moon, and marella for me always targets Titanocider or Lost Wind! Since they are level 2s, melfys can use them for xyz and synchro plays!
No it’s better without Toad fun wise. You get all these disruption chaining and careful interactions instead of just sitting on a generic negate ED monster that you can already do with other decks if you wanted to do that
depends what you want to do with it, its fun so take it to locals or a regional even but don't expect to top a ycs or win worlds with this. seems better poised this meta than it was last format, thats not saying much for a 2017 deck though.
Back in the day there was this crazy card called Swap Frog You could run blue boy or an evil eye engine or something if you want, but that would also add bad mills and weaken back jack and reasoning's basically 100% chance of milling all purple

My deck list is so much better than yours Josh man you would kill to get it from me ;) But I like the accumulated fortune really good idea thanks for that. I used to play 3 Bottomless Trap Hole now I switched them for Accumulated Fortune. Paleozoic is the best deck in the game but people don't realise it cause they make bad deck lists. By The Way you were playing Torrential which is terrible in this deck (you can't chain paleozoics to it) and bad card now in general , just switch it for bottomless if you want defenses. You chain paleozoics to it and the monster gets banished which is very important now. And doesn't destroy your own monsters. By The Way also play a Sky Crisis in the extra it is SO GOOD especially in this deck. I won't tell to you the rest of my cards but I would love to duel you , maybe I will start playing Master Duel too. By The Way the Reasoning is at 3 there grass is allowed at 1 ? SICK Hahahahaha

Honestly evenly match helps a lot too. I love siding it so I can pop their field and have freedom to actually play. I love it's now searchable with thrust so you can fuck your opponent.

Removal is also good on the turn those traps are set, but clearly Savage/Baronne missing from this video made all 3 duels very interactive.

I love the ceremonial match putting Raye-sayers in their place before the meta game.

Since you have a tear version you could try having that polymerization copy trap to use necro fusion or super poly if need for rollback

Anomalocaris is a 2.4k beat stick. Later version he has spright elf into gigantic as a beat stick and elemental burst to clear boards
