Yeah DDP Baby Village People ( How come they never made dolls of them?) This doll has a very lovely face and her lovely titian hair looks stunning in the blue 💙 dress 👗 Perhaps Village Siren would be more an appropriate term no? Your Eric looks great rebodied without the molded pants This gal kind of has a Tyra Banks vibe to her Her boots I think are nicer with more detail Her hair is kind of funky but a nice color Ditto her eye color and yes her more natural looking face I would buy this one I like the fact that you have the human/mermaid option Fun!
Her hair feels like nylon/Saran a bit when you first get her out. But when you brush her hair it’s bad quality. So it’s probably polly. It feels like Barbie extra hair
Mulan and Cruella got Life Action Dolls too. just Collectors Dolls. And by that Price i would consider this Ariel also a Collector. 38€. But her Clothes and everything is High Quality. Wish she had also Saran Hair but its ok. The Legs where used for the Raya Dolls before im sure.
That’s right I forgot they did the first release Raya dolls in extra articulated bodies. Mulan and Cruella only got 17in dolls, so did live action Aladdin and Jasmine but unfortunately no 11 inch dolls since Belle

I like the Mattel locs better, how they spring from her center part. Mattel's version looks like hair. The Disney version - to my eye - looks like furry growths sprouting erratically across her head. Like Medusa's snakes gone furry. I'd want to pull them out to save the doll. Tsk, tsk, Disney!
@@D7cooperthere’s a work around that is if you counter clockwise the twist and in her hair design will come undone and just be little curls and then you can re-twist them yourself looks so much better it’s really time consuming but it works unless you’re going to re root i’m adding shells and stuff to my dolls hair in this version to see if it helps he hair
Yeah it’s weird but some of the petite dolls have the critter friends it’s a choice they make sometimes on these live action dolls, like the Live Action Aladdin dolls didn’t include abu and the live action beauty and the beast dolls just sold all the talking furniture as a separate pack it bugs me as a completionist
I actually cannot stand the Bendy plastic tail dolls I don’t know why they just couldn’t be fabric in the whole pack for sisters was like 100 bucks that’s crazy
I’m ok with the non fabric tails because most of the time they are not as detailed or structured as the molded plastic tails, and honestly if I want to give them legs I’m going to rebody them onto a fully articulated doll which we probably weren’t going to get in a big set like that anyway until the price was doubled
Hi! I enjoyed your discussion about these two versions of Ariel. I agree with much of what you said, especially about the tails. I like the ease and flexibility of the Disney cloth tail. She can go from mermaid to human easily. However, Mattel's hard plastic tail is more striking. But Disney's human body is more appealingly articulated. Oh, but I prefer Mattel's closed mouth smile even though I usually prefer the more realistic faces. Both dolls have appeal so I could see having both dolls. Congrats on your having them both. Only deluxe Ariel live action from mattel have big articulation, but no so big like Disney

Now with the fins, I’m gonna add a sheer crinkle fabric to contact them to the back of the original fins and I know that will help

They are Ken fashion pack sweatpants bunched up above the boots they were close enough in color for me
