I disagree too. These days she has a much more clarified style. Now she lacks any mannerism. I think when an artist gets older, she learns how to interprete in a simple but very accurate way without any unnecessary gestures. This is the highest level of art.
I do too. Especially in view of her latest performances, both @ the Bolshoi and POB. Her real nature, not obscured by charm of youth is more exposed. Having said that, there has not been a ballerina of equal physical beauty since Natalia Bessmertnova. And I rather doubt that we'll see one in our lifetime.
We had stripped wood floors in russian ballet schools' classes, so before the middle exercises (for adagio) we sprayed them with water, to make them non slippery. :)
Male voice: Svetlana Zakharova is a dancer who is going to make a huge mark in the world of Russian ballet. SZ: I didn't even know that there is an art called ballet until I was ten years old. I often skipped the lessons because I hated the practice of classical ballet. I wanted to perform my favourite dances straight away. But one day, I realised the importance of the daily practice. Although the rehearsal (for Giselle) began without a problem, I thought "No, I can't do it. It's impossible." and worried myself wondering why I had accepted such a big role. I was only seventeen at that time and there were many things I didn't know about. The Interviewer: You are the first dancer to dance Giselle at the age of seventeen. I don't know anyone else who danced such a difficult role as Giselle at such a young age. (After the clip of Swan Lake) The Interviewer: The fans gathered at the back door of the theatre were fascinated by that black swan. SZ: (big smile)
Hmm...the plie in the fouettes is there it's just hard to see because, strangely, her supporting foot is completely NOT turned out. Nobody's perfect...(though I would say she's pretty close! haha)
I love Zakhorova, she is stunning.
Brilliant ballerina with a perfect body for ballet ART. Her perfect movements and every step are almost like the ballet vocabulary of perfection.
Svetlana is so expressive in both her face and her body/motions!
She is the best and always will be. I didn’t know what real art form is like until I saw her.
Thank you for posting her videos. You can see how much work she or any ballerina has to go to be a star and keep doing it!!
I love watching amazing dancers in their younger years. It's so inspirational!
my idol ... sigh... no one compares to svetlana...
btw, her fouettes at the end of the video are the best I've ever seen her do!

haha : I saw baby DANILA KORSUNTSEV at 2:25 too ..... they were so young and beautiful !
I didnt have a favorite ballerina in mind unitill one day I happened watched her video on TH-cam.

The best and more sweet Gisellle!
her technique is perfect, dear.

Godness of Russian Ballett
I wish we could see all of her performance of Swan Lake at the Mariinsky. I'd much prefer that to the La Scala thing that's up on TH-cam now.
the piece at 0.50 :O stunning!!
@TheBolshoi97 Thanks! Don´t you know which act is it? I would love to see more than just a few seconds, it´s beautiful.
Thank you once more. :)
Absolutely right with you!
I go work my technique just now!
She must be about 20 in these videos, and by the way she is deceptively strong - amazingly strong, in fact.
it is a way to make the floor not slippery. an alternative to rosin...
Where is this taken from? Especially the video from her class? I wanna see the rest of it!!!!!
@SDABdance No. I love Svetlana
@bery237 It's the Pas de Deux from Second Act! You can found this with Zakharova on TH-cam! :D
Are there any videos of Sveta's Tchai pas variation or full pas de deux? IT'S SO GORGEOUS!
her fouettes..o.O
@olomouckelabute It's Tchaikovsky Pas De Deux, choreography by Balanchine
wow huge bouquet!!! She deserved it and more I am sure!! @0:42
Please, could anyone translate what she said into English?
I will be so grateful .

@@ginabataille1796 Thanks so much for your reply. That's mean a lot for me . 😘😘😘💖💖💖
haha no way!!! even if that was a punishment, i bet everyone in the class would be happy because they are sweaty and everything. lol.
Can someone tell me what's the variation at 0:50?
I've got the answer from another post. It is from Balanchine's Tchaikovsky Pas de Deux.
Her fouettés were amazing on this video :O but I dont like the fouettes she is doing now xD
hey now, no one is perfect.
however, I think in her case it's acceptable.
What ballet is it at 1:36? Thank you! :)
Kateřinka Fuxova Giselle :)
That would be Tchaicovsky (spelling sry) pas de deux its a Balanchine piece
Her feet are downright sickening. Her legs cause a shiver down my backbone.

Dang her feet move too fast it's not fair
her foot is turned out and there is a plie. it is just because the camera is at an angle.
I was just about to write a comment saying that, then I saw yours.
tchaikovsky pas de deux
@bery237 Giselle! :D
0:13 what is the variation?
Aurora - Sleeping Beauty
Why are there black swans in this video? Not Odile, of course, but in the beginning when she's Odette...
It's the last act and sometimes there are also black swans
@zushixilaiyi "really comprehended essence of BLT."
bacon, lettuce, tomato?
En castellano 🇨🇱
Back then when she used to eat
Veronica Manrique Acosta Um, she does eat? She even got a child a few years ago. But because of her training she stays thin o_O
Dumbolddoor does she have a child??
She has a daughter Anna Repina.
Absolutely right with you!
