I have owned 2 LAB putters (Mezz and Mezz Max) and love them. My only complaint is the lack of feel off the face. It’s tough to judge downhill, big breaking, and putts through the fridge. Just got fit for the Allen putter and it feels almost like a blade with feedback through your hands. I can tell how it’s coming off the face and it seems really consistent. I can’t wait to use it on real greens and the LAB may be going on eBay.

I also have two LAB putters and love them. Watch the new video that Sam from lab is put out testing this putter in the lab revealer. You'll see that there is still some rotation. I would stick to the lab...
@@cmehta12I watched that. Guessing you’re correct, however, the PXG may 90% of the way to the LAB. In real life putting that may be enough. Then feel and looks could be the differentiator.
@@Quattro46 I've used quite a few putters. Even if it was 10%, I'd want a putter that has 100% balance.

I’ll get one eventually, just got a PXG Spitfire a couple months ago and it is awesome.
I appreciate and understand I’ve got R&D cost of materials and production . But don’t understand how they can justify such ridiculous prices. I’d love to see the profit margins.
There's no beating the no1 #LAB but it's good to see people trying.

I think these look great, not too dissimilar to my tour spider, I would love to see aa review of this v any other mallet putter on a SAM puttlab for eg to see if there are any real world improvments.

Not entirely torque free as the lab is, but very good.

@@thattrillYTthis is definitely not zero torque. There is some movement of the head. Watch the lab guys test this out with the revealer. You'll see that there's some misleading information in this video. Don't buy the hype
Notice they never spin the PXG putter in their "revealer". Why? Show us it can freely spin and not being held in place by some amount of friction.

Used to play a Spider Tour Black (Still have) but I’ve been playing a MH Versa 380 Jailbird.. this seems like a perfect marriage of the 2 with torque balancing included… sign me up!!

I don't even have one and I agree with you. The technology has me sold and you're seeing more and more tour guys use them. LAB doesn't sponsor anyone either. So that means the tour guys forked out their own money to get fit and buy one just like the rest of us. If it's on tour it has some kind of merit. Those guys don't mess around when it comes to their livelyhood.
Why not put the Allan in the revealer and a LAB putter in the zero torque tube? Direct comparison would help sell your product more unless....

Sam from lab has done this. Check out the video on TH-cam. You'll see that this has some torque and is not completely balanced like they're claiming.
It looks great. I'm definitely thinking about getting me an Alan putter. Ive been playing the Axis 1 putter for awhile now, which also has the same concept and I love it. Its just I gets stares from other playing partners do to its unorthodox look. 😅

I thought it was lie angle balance (LAB). Face balanced is when you rest it on your finger and the face points up.

Correct. LAB stands for lie angle balance. I hope Sam and Bill are looking at this video. We're getting really close to patent infringement, no matter what these guys want to name it.
If you do not meet the ball with a square face on the correct path you will miss putts, even if you do get that bit correct it will not go in if you have not read the break and pace correctly. The actual torque created on an off centred putt is minimal. Like everything to do with putting if you like the look and feel go for it. P.s I have had many different putters in my lifetime, my favourite being my custom DF3 😜

Why do you put 5 degrees of loft on your putter? 🤷♂️. modern greens are cut so short with bent grass, I don’t see any need to pop the ball up to accomodate the surface. Delofting the putter, in the forward press can only lead to altering the face angle leading to innacuracies. I would be curious to know, your thoughts? Looks like a great putter though. I’m not sure, if I want to spend several hundred dollars for a putter though.
I think the static loft is abit misleading, as the putter is designed in a way that you statically won’t have 5* loft by the time your setup to the ball.

It wasn’t really a filming day, it was more of a soft launch, sharing what’s coming, and I just took the opportunity to capture some stuff 😅
Hmmm....of all the videos I've seen on this putter. No one shows it on their finger showing it's face balanced or whatever. They surely didn't spin it while it was in their "revealer" showing that it can freely move. I'm skeptical especially after LAB put the Allan putter in their revealer and it wandered all over the place. Good try PXG, but not quite...

Let’s hope it works better than the LAB putters, Mr Shortgame in the US tested this and was blown away with how good it was. However, all the AIMPONIT, Putter weighting, new grips combined will not overcome a poor stroke

Lie angle balanced and face balanced are not the same thing so may want to edit that to avoid confusion.

Assuming the concept of “Lie Angle Balanced” is patented by LAB which is why he doesn’t call it that.
@@ericpark8244 lab isn’t the first to do lie angle balanced putters. If they did in some way take rights to the term. Face balanced is still an incorrect term for what pxg did with the Alan. In the world of AI this and 10k that and terms like “spincicity” never should have existed …we don’t need more confusion or marketing.
Faced balanced is literally as far as possible (90 degrees) from lie angle balanced. Not remotely the same thing. I'll skip this one lol.

Gary you have tried the LAB putters and especially the Link1, which obviously is not a mallet like the Allen so what is your honest opinion and comparison of the two?
I wish I had known that James & Yourself were testing one the other day I would have loved to have had a go and compared my LAB Link1 putter, which I love incidentally. Great review and good luck with the new job, I’m having one last round at Woolley Park tomorrow before I set off back to Spain on Saturday morning.
I personally prefer the look of the lab link 1, however, I prefer the feel and face of the PXG. In conclusion, I probably won’t game either, as I’m really happy with my odyssey.

??? Face balanced ??? These are not face balanced putters. Faced balancing is a completely different thing.
In motion, what is a face balanced putter supposed to do, and in motion what is a zero torque putter suppose to do? Are they suppose to be doing different things? My understanding is they’re both designed to swing the putter keeping the face square in motion, and zero torque is a fancy word for face balanced in motion.
Just another pretty faced balanced putter, like all the putters in the past. IT'S MAGIC! Will be used one or two years and off to the next magical putter. I've golfed for over fifty years and have seen them all used and put back in the garage. If a person can't read the green then the putter is only a band aid. Fairways and Greens!

@@garymartingolf My Odyssey putter when balanced on finger points straight up. My L.A.B putter points sideways, at the target. my blade putter (toe hang) is in between. L.A.B. putter just feels like it comes back to square at the ball better. (without any manipulation.) would love to try the new PXG one.
@garymartingolf lie angle balance means the putter holds it face square to the arc of the putter head path through the stroke without being manipulated by your hands at all. Face balanced means the face points up when you hold it horizontally at its balance point. the LAB putters head won't wobble to find one certain spot while holding it horizontally at its balance point (i saw this PXG putter wobble at the 3:58 mark, and true lie-angle balance wouldn't have done that) .
Having said all of that, this PXG putter is obviously well-balanced and is probably a fun and quality putter to putt with. Even LAB themselves make putters that aren't 100% torque free but very close because folks don't like the looks of the "spaceship DF 2.1" .
I do think it's funny how i didn't see any putts fall in this vid, whereas with the LAB putters you usually have someone pick those up for the first time and they start making putts. One would think it was camera-editing all the time, but i've witnessed it myself with friends trying out my old DF 2.1. I usually give them a 10-15' putt and it's amazing how many times they've holed a putt with their first attempt :)

That’s what a face balanced putter should be, and so is this Pxg putter. They Keep the putter face square to the arc when in motion.
